I happened to be birding at San Elijo Lagoon this past weekend and saw the program they had at the nature center. The nature center had a Halloween event going on and had Raptor Institute come out to teach the kids (and adults!) about raptors in our area. They had a stunning Barn owl, 2 red tail hawks, and the cutest screech owl in the history of the universe!
As a non-​profit their goal is conservation through education and inspiration. As I watched the kids gather around, fascinated and intrigued, I was really excited that the Raptor Institute is providing a service that can inspire the next generation of birders and conservationists.
They do events for schools, scouts, service clubs, birthdays, and private events. Their programs are really diverse and they have different activities depending on events and age groups.
