The Paintball Park At Miramar

First thing, if you are going to complain about the gate, it is a military base, what did you expect? They are going to want to check your ID. Just common sense.
But now aside from that, I frequent this field often. If you are looking for speedball or woodsball, you are not going to find it here. But they have 3 concept fields which more than get the job done. I usually come with several of my coworkers and always have a good time. They offer 4500 and 3000 fill stations, the typical selection of markers for rentals (Tippman 98 and COG Enmy). Staff has always been friendly and fair. I enjoy coming here, always a good enviroment, friendly staff, just an all around good vibe. But if you are looking for more compeition style play then head up to Camp Pendleton or the new indoor field.

Learn the gate rules before you enter the base! Excellent smaller fields great staff, willing to help out in any way. There is three fields, best to get set up around 10 am and play all day. Great workout and father /​son or sons bond. Had a great time. Just go on web site and read beforfe you go on base! It a big help!

Wasted my $ 25!!! Terrible! I used to enjoy this place. Now w/​the rule change, you CANNOT enter the base unless you are military personnel or if you «PERSONALLY» know the escorts/​paintball park employee. So, what did this mean to me? I had party of 7 and the half of my team entered. I had to wait for my other friend, waited over 1 hour to just find out we could not enter the base. Wow… thanks for NOT telling me when I called about this new base entry rule. and thanks for applying this rule partially. If you post on your website… YOU MUST know us personally… not just a random guest/​player at the park, I would not have waited 30 min to drive down there, not to mention the gas I wasted plus time plus the other half of my team feeling bad… and I cannot even get my money back… WTF.
Bottom line, I think they should close this location down and save everyone the headache!

It’s a small park good or walk on practices but not big enough for competition style play. Its basically three areas, all with bunkers, houses and nifty places to hideout the area is not large so if there are huge walk on parties, you’ll be bunkering with two other players.
Staff is chill and likes to play also. If they trust your mature enough to play fair ometimes you can ref your own games but one peeps are still Duche bags and should be out when they get shot.
Bing your own food and water because they only have snacks and water is a dollar. Plenty of tables to suit up. I usually go here just to get in one practice before I hit up the larger parks.

Avoid at all costs. Literally. I got a groupon deal for like $ 20 for everything.
I HATE how they’re located on a Marine Corps base. You have to go to the correct entrance, which is off of Kearny Villa Dr. I drove past the gate like 3 times before I realized I had to turn right. Once at the gate, the gatekeepers overestimate their enforcement power. Made a huge deal over wearing seat belts, and carrying our IDs on our person at all time. My friend was wearing his seat belt the whole time, then he had to walk to the trunk of the car to grab his ID in his backpack and the gatekeeper made a big deal out of it as if he was going to grab a gun or something. Once he finally got his ID though, the gatekeeper had this tone in his voice «PUT ON YOUR SEATBELT» when he had just barely got back in his seat and gave him his ID. Dooooooooouche bags working the gate. Not just the main gate we went to but the gate closer to the buffet as well. After dealing with that BS, he pointed us the parking lot on the right to wait for the paintball park to «sponsor» us a van.
I called the park probably 20 times until they actually picked up. No joke. After they told me they’ll send a van for us, it took an hour till they sent a sedan. funny thing is that we were about to back up and just leave because we were wasting our time at this point. Then the guy pulls up in a white sedan all beat up and tells us «follow me.» like a creep or something. We clarified and we just ended up driving behind him to the park. which is stupid. Why not just give us directions to the park. Waste of time, their gas, and money.
Now for the real review. Guns suck, everyone’s guns jammed at least 5 times. Masks aren’t too bad, if you’re a little blind then it might be a problem. The fields aren’t too bad, they’re smaller than Mr. Paintball in Escondido. There’s only 3 fields I believe. They sell 50 cent bags of chips for $ 1, and drinks for $ 1-​$ 3(Water, coke, gatorade). Nothing else. Tons of squirrels running around too. The «office» for the paintball park is a portable bungalow thing.
I won’t be back. Mr. Paintball is preferred. They’re more supplied and is more of an efficient Paintball park than this place which barely scrapes by on anything. They probably only have business due to the Marines.

First time paintballing and I was apprehensive, but man, it was a blast! I don’t have anything to compare it to, but they have the setup down for a big group. They have different fields to play on and are out there watching so no one really gets out of hand.
At the gate it can be confusing. We were told by my company who sponsored the event that we had to call a number and have someone dispatched out to get us, which happened, but we pulled over in the parking lot. Others of our co-​workers just went straight through and others didn’t know where to go. FYI, once you’re in, it’s the first right at the gas station, then a left at the recycling center. The fields are on the right side of the road.
The guys running the show are diligent about wearing the masks and keeping the paintball guns covered (for good reason!) and handled our large group with no problem. Definitely is fun as a company event or with a bigger group.
Luckily, I didn’t get shot at too close and I only walked away with one bruise so it wasn’t too painful at all.

This review is about the Camp Pendelton location in Oceanside, CA. My husband, son, and another teen friend just came home from spending the day at your park (11:30 to 3), and though the had fun the first few rounds, after the refs got traded out for the afternoon, it SUCKED. My son surrendered with his hands up and was still shot three times — once in the neck — in full view of the ref, who did nothing. Several times my husband said that the refs played favorites — penalizing our friend for shooting too close even though he was 30 feet from his target. Our friend was shot repeatedly after he surrendered by a guy with his own personal repeater rifle (which we were told was banned) from a distance of two feet. When the ref was called OUR FRIEND was tossed out and the guy with the banned weapon allowed to continue play. That’s when my husband threw in the towel and took the boys home. I am severely disappointed that a location on a military base would behave in this manner. I am never sending my family and friends to this location again.

The security checkpoint was so not necessary for a paintball park. I get there and a guy wearing cameo clothes asks for my ID and driver’s insurance and then tells me to pull over on the side where the paintball people will escort us to the park. I see NOBODY around who can help us. I turned my car around the side and drive back to him and this was how that went down:
Me: Are you sure they’re supposed to escort us? Aren’t you supposed to just give us directions?
Douche: Of course I know what I’m supposed to do. This is my job. (walks closer to my car window to intimidate me) Now just pull to the side and talk to the registration desk if you have any questions.
So I drove to the side again and talked to the registration desk and the officer literally sighed, facepalmed and said «he was supposed to just give you directions» and gave me a pass so I can get in FOR SURE. So I drove around AGAIN and went to a DIFFERENT security man this time, who told me directions, and let me pass. And as I was passing…
Douche: What? You don’t like me!??
Me (yelling from my car window): You were supposed to just give us directions! YOU ONLY HAVE ONE JOB…
Douche: Man, dont listen to her! (to his colleague)
Ray: Omg Diana I don’t wanna die
Anthony: Don’t make them more angry, just stop talking!!!

–pretty expensive even with a $ 30 living social deal. We had 12 people and all we needed to pay for was paintballs and air… it came down to be $ 25 each. LIVINGSOCIAL PEOPLE, ITS NOT WORTH IT. THERE ARE NO PRICE DETAILS IN YOUR VOUCHER SO THEY CAN RIP YOU OFF WHEN YOU GET THERE
–only three arenas and they’re all pretty small.
–not enough gear for everybody… had to wait about 30 minutes — 1 hour
–didn’t accept outside paintballs, you had to buy it from them.
–no water
–DIRRRTY helmets
–had 12 people but it wasn’t enough for a private party (min 15) so we had to play with randoms.
Overall, I have seen better paintball parks in Ramona with more arenas, cheaper rates, universal paintball usage, and no lame security to ruin your mood before you play.

COUSIN’S BACHELOR WEEKEND: PART IV — THE PAINTBALL PARK AT MIRAMAR
After previous night at Stingaree the next day we headed to Miramar. I’ve never went paintball before. I was excited yet also nervous because I’ve heard stories how paintball can be painful. All we had for protection was the full headgear and mask. We had a private party at this facility — a chance for some male bounding. It’s awesome that this place is on a military base as it feels like a real shootout. There are three courses: 1) base camp 2) western 3) village. Out of the three the most fun was definitely the western. It felt like «Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid» or the Ok Corral.
The staff here were extremely helpful as they gave us advice on how to handle the gun and the course. I doubt it but I hope there’s a place like this back in the Bay Area.

I went here before the New Management & Really mad due to Ref telling me to shoot one ball at time with Ego. The Rentals are Low Tech Tipmman’s & one time I was there they would not take Walk-​ons Due to over booking of Various Groups. $ 20 to play, $ 10 for all day air fill, $ 30 for 1000 paint Just adds up. No Tech on site to help repairs & no Rentel for Electric Hoppers. PLEASE… anyone in there opinion can see this practice is bad for Business,.
I heard they got the Property (old horse ranch outside main Gate) to build a Waterpark, Skate park, Fields (Airsoft/​Paintball) Hell throw in Electric RC (only) Track. They have drawings in Rental Trailer. When ??? Guess Economy hit them hard. My buddies all grew up with famlies, & Airsoft is Cheaper… Time to sell paintball gear. DYING. I Love the fact it is close to Mira mesa, but you might have trouble getting on Base without Sponsor. Hate the Rent-​a-​Cops…

Thank goodness for local parks. The fields aren’t as large and they only have a few of them compared to other parks. But it’s close and good fun.
The staff and referees were all great. Friendly and very helpful.
When my personal air tank failed midday I thought my fun was over. The crew there ended up letting me use a rental tank for the rest of the day for free. A+ in my books. Would have given 5 stars if they had more fields, but I can say I will be back again.

I’ve been here a couple of times with my son’s football team for some «team bonding». Nothing says bonding more than the coaching staff being shot at by a group of 12 year olds. What were we thinking?
Both times we’ve been there it has been insanely hot however I still kept a sweatshirt on because those paintballs can leave a welt like you won’t believe.
The protocol here is very good. They make every participant watch a video on course safety and course rules before you’re allowed inside the ropes. The staff is on watch continuously to make sure that everyone is following the rules and they enforce them well.
There are always some «pros» here and some wanna be pros who just finished watching the movie Red Dawn before they decided to come out and test their skills. Ummm… you better go back and watch the movie again.
Since this is located on the base, you need to be prepared to show your license, registration and proof of insurance at the gate before you proceed.
If you’ve never experienced paintball, this is a great place to give it a try as the staff is very helpful and it is not an overly huge area.

Got a good deal off groupon, 24 bucks for equipment rental and 500 rounds. This was my first time paintballing so I was kind of anxious. It was hot like a frickin desert but i still wore the camo jacket they offered us just for protection. The mask was smelly (apparently from lysol disinfectant) and felt damp, which was the worst combo ever. I know this sounds disgusting but after awhile you get used to it, esp when youre sweating a lot in the heat.
The regulars were really nice and split up the teams so that there were even numbers of pros and noobs on both teams. I think there are 3 different fields to play on, I didnt really like the first one because its just way too much squatting for me. My favorite one was the fake little town, very fun to play on.
I recommend trying to come on a day thats not ridiculously hot and if you can, bring your own mask and some water. But other than that you’ll have a great time.
