The Kids Bay Learning Center

As a parent who is also an educator I’m extremely picky about where I place my kids. After lots of research I settled on Kids Bay Learning Center. This school is by far the standard all other school should strive to achieve. They have far exceeded any and all expectations I ever had and taught me a few things along the way… there is absolutely nowhere else I would ever put my kids. My youngest is now saying his good bye’s as he moves on to Kindergarten which I’m all but certain he will be bored in after the great job Lindsey E. and Cheryl have done with him in the Transitional Kindergarten program they have for those kids who miss the cutoff. He’s reading, writing and doing math that I see my daughter’s class doing in 1^st grade. I can’t say enough about this school… Lora and Sheree, the Directors of the school have the exact background you would want someone directing such a program to have. I am going to miss the love and support my family has received from everyone at Kids Bay. Their ‘parents night out’ events were something my son looked forward to every month as did we… kids get to play and hang out in a safe place while mom and dad have a date night. I believe in the ‘it takes a village’ philosophy, there’s no one else I’d want more in my Village than the staff at Kids Bay!!!

What can I say that will convey my gratitude and appreciation for the Kids Bay and their entire staff…
A little history: Our daughter came to Kids Bay when she was just 6 months old. As any parent that works full-​time knows that the decision to put your child into daycare is a difficult one. I was not thrilled about it. That feeling quickly went away after a week of her being in the infant room. Every teacher that she came in contact with was wonderful, but two teachers in particular (Ms. Kelly and Ms. Tiera) were with her for over seven months and I so appreciated their warmth and care they provided for my daughter. They were always smiling, personable and positive despite having probably the most difficult job in the world (could you handle four babies at at time and stay sane? I know I couldn’t). They both seemed to connect with each infant in the room. Every day when I picked her up, they would always tell me about the things my daughter did that day and the little personality they saw her developing. It made me feel like my daughter was special to them, and what more could you ask for than that? On a side note, Ms. Kelly is the baby whisperer and she could probably have her own TV show or business helping first time moms learn the ropes of caring for a newborn.
When the time came for my daughter to transition to the toddler room, where she is currently placed, I was probably more anxious than anyone. After all, she would be on the bottom of the totem pole again and had grown quite attached to her teachers in the infant room. I was very impressed with the way that she was transitioned. They took a lot of time and would have her visit for a designated time that grew in length over a span of a couple of weeks. They made sure that she was ready, rather than just pushing her through to the next room so that they could have a spot for another child in the infant room. All the teachers in the toddler room are full of energy and patience. It seems like they all provide a great balance of fun while acclimating the toddlers to a structured, school like setting. The majority of them have children of their own and it shows. We are sent home with several art projects a week to hang on our fridge and can see our daughters verbal/​sensory development growing like crazy! Our daughter has a huge smile on her face everyday when I come to pick her up and has a clear connection with all the teachers that she comes in contact with.
Just a few more things to note:
— I have never had a problem getting in touch with Lora or Sheree about anything…
They communicate efficiently about any boo-boo’s, viruses/​illnesses that are going around. Lora sends pictures of my daughter whenever she can! I have never seen a center have directors as involved as Lora or Sheree.
— The center is beautiful, clean, well maintained (I always see them sanitizing counters/​toys/​etc., plus I am almost positive they have a janitor crew come each night).
— The playground is huge with separate areas for different ages
— Good security system
— Parents Night Out is once a month (we have never done it personally because we have family in the area, but I think it is a huge perk for families without a support network near).
Our daughter is now just over a year and a half and both my husband and I agree we couldn’t have found a better place for our daughter to be. While I miss her terribly while I am at work, I feel at peace and happy that she is socializing, learning manners, new skills and words everyday and that she is in the hands of such wonderful care providers. It does come at a price… but in our minds, it is worth the cost. I would recommend Kids Bay to my closest family and friends.

We relocated from the Bay Area in December 2010 and enrolled our 3 little ones at The Kids Bay Learning Center. As working professionals, we were quickly at ease dropping off our kids each day– only to return in the early evening to hear about how exciting their day was. We were thrilled to find such great Directors (Sheree & Lora) who clearly take pride in keeping the facility top-​notch, in addition to employing awesome teachers who are all very dedicated to love and care for the children as if they were their own.
This is a great, modern facility that is very well run; you get what you pay for & more. As we prepare to enter a new chapter (Elementary School)… thank you Kids Bay for everything~ you will be missed!

Our son joined Kid’s Bay in the Toddler room last summer and we couldn’t be happier!
As first time parents, we were apprehensive about our decision to send our little one to a full time daycare but we were soon assured by the wonderful staff at Kids Bay. The teachers in his class struck a great balance of being competent, mature and caring at the same time. The directors Sheri and Lora are extremely friendly and seem to know every child! They send out timely communications and always call us personally if our child is not keeping well. There is also a cook on staff who provides fresh lunches daily (for an additional fee).
The classrooms are very clean and well-​maintained. The playground has something for every age — a huge jungle gym, a separate soft turf play area for the infants and toddlers (who are not yet as rough and tough as older kids) and a water play area for summer fun! The facility also provides parents with unique security codes.
Other pluses include parents night out once a month, great social events like summer BBQs, Halloween costume parties and the like for the entire family!

Our infant has just started coming here full time and he seems to love it. We toured many other daycares in the area and this was the best of the bunch. You really do get what you pay for. The quality of the caregivers here is far above the others. These ladies are adults, educated, mothers, compassionate and caring. At most of the other daycares we toured, we saw teenage caregivers, long faces, lots of tattoos and bad attitudes. The other places also had high turnover rates for their employees and older/​less-​desirable facilities and locations. If you are looking at daycares in the local area, you have to tour this one, at the very least.

I have two children that have been going to Kid’s Bay. The Kid’s Bay is one of those magical businesses that meets and exceeds your expectations day in and day out. The owners, the management — Sheri and Laura, and all of the teachers we’ve had, Miss Lisa in particular, have become like our extended family.
Leaving a child to be watched by strangers is a decision all parents make with some trepidation. Knowing we have such competent folks not only watching our children, but enriching our little minds with innovative learning techniques and providing such a positive environment has really been a blessing to our boys. And even though they operate at such a high level they’re always coming up with new ways to entertain and teach the kids. My wife and I absolutely love the place!

Both of my girls have been at Kids Bay for a while now. I checked out 4 other schools in the area before deciding on this one. In my opinion they are the best. Not only is the school new, but the staff is AMAZING they are sooo caring of both of my girls and my girls never want to leave when I pick them up. Sheri the director is AWESOME! I will be sad when its time for my girls to start a new school :(

My daughter goes to Kids Bay and we are overjoyed! The school is kept impeccably. The teachers are lovely, professional and kind. The Directors think outside the box by bringing in guests like fireman and Ariel for the kids! They have monthly date nights for the parent, BBQs and other events. It really feels like a second home for my daughter. We are so happy. If you are looking for a day care do yourself a favor and do not miss checking this one out!

Caring infant staff. Ms. Kelly and Ms. Alisha, along with others, treats each baby with love and respect. Our daughter is happy and does not mind staying there. They are very understanding and accommodating with each child’s needs. Other positives: a cook for daily lunch available, open drop offs and pick up times, security with individual codes, monthly parent night outs, various open house events, and bus gym (with additional cost).

This BRAND NEW daycare center was built last year and opened for enrollment in 2010. All the children’s learning material is fresh and exciting with an outdoor playground designed for our sunny San Diego weather. The playground has a massive jungle gym which resembles a shipwrecked boat. There is also an outdoor water fountain to run through for hot summer days. I must say with all the Xbox and playstation games, it is refreshing to see children play outside and use their imaginations. I scheduled a walk through with the director of the school and she was very happy to show us all the classrooms and explain their curriculum.
Some daycares are so old and the material is so outdated, it was great to see something so fresh and advanced.
