The Critter Sitter

Janette has been walking/​caring for my dog (75 lbs boxer) for 4 years and her services have gone above and beyond expectations. She is extremely reliable, is flexible when things come up, and my boy absolutely loves her!

Stop looking and contact Janette!!! The best sitter we’ve ever had and more than we ever wished for!!! We moved to SD in January and needed someone to check in on our furry family as we travel quite a bit. After a several unanswered phone calls to a few companies our apartment complex had recommended; we found the One True Sitter and couldn’t be happier the other people flaked.
She gets that our kitties are our children and sends us updates/​pictures that make me think that she loves them so much she might just take them home with her. :) She’s watched our cats for a total of about 6 weeks this year and our oldest skeptical cat doesn’t go and hide like he does when anyone else comes over.
Seriously, she’s the whole package — friendly, attentive and thorough. Everything and everyone is perfectly cared for while we’re away and we don’t have to worry about anything. She even took initiative to speak to management about a notice on our door regarding inspections while we were away.
I could go on and on… 5 stars are not enough! :)

Janette is amazing! Trustworthy and reliable. Easy to communicate with and very accommodating to our scheduling needs. Our 9 month old vizsla Westley absolutely loves her. She often sends us pictures of how much fun they’re having. We truly lucked out finding her. She’s a Point Loma/​OB gem!

I just wanted to let everyone know that this is the BEST dog walking — or pet service I would recommend to anyone. I have two huge European Great Danes (Harvard). I have not been able to run them on the beach as I used to everyday. Needless to say I was worried if anyone could handle my large breed.
I had called some walkers in the area and they could not handle a large breed. ThIS service even is taking care of a older lab that they are sitting in their home for a 90 year old woman. They are also coming everyday and walking both my Danes for a VERY reasonable price for one hour a day at a time of my choosing.

This review for Janette is long over due… She has been taking care of our dog since she was a 10 week old pup. Janette is grounded and responsible, flexible with scheduling and very loving toward our dog. In addition to weekly walks, she and her wonderful staff members David and Janelle have stayed with our pup multiple times while we have been on vacation. When we return from a trip, our little «homebody» dog is happy, well cared for and the house is clean. Janette and her staff also text updates and pictures while we are away. We feel lucky to be on the regular schedule because Janette has gotten very busy. Our neighbor now uses her staff for dog walking services too! I highly recommend the Critter Sitter!

Janette is my own personal life saver. My job often has last minute changes and she is always able to take care of my piggy smalls. He is a «mini» pot belly pig weighing in at 115 lbs who is very particular about who he trusts. Janette has won him over and I always know he’s in excellent hands.

Janette is wonderful! I used her services very regularly this past year, and she is super responsible and caring for my girls. Highly recommend her!

I’ve had better experiences with another pet sitter.
I realize that my cat is one of those cats that only a mother could love because she hisses at strangers. But Janette made jokes about squirting my cat while in her care and while we were out of town.
Also, the last time I tried to get ahold of Janette to watch my cat, I had to call her 2 – 3 times over the course of a few days before getting in contact with her.

Yes and thank you. I did leave instructions that as a last case scenario our cat may need a squirt (not 1^st option). I also left instructions to give treats, but the new bag of treats I left behind went unopened & unused. My instructions were not followed correctly, which means my cat’s only human contact for days involved getting squirted enough to get joked about later on.

Janette was great! We came to San Diego for a vacation and need someone to take care of our dog for a day. She was recommended by our host. It was a last minute arrangement but everything went smoothly and the pooch was happy!!!

This review is long overdue. Janette is fantastic. She texted us daily updates on our cat and sent us pictures of him every few days. When she had some extra time, she even spent an extra hour with him! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

My husband and I moved to San Diego a month ago and were stressed out about finding a pet sitter for our two aging dogs. We had an upcoming vacation and, in the past, had always been able to leave them with family and friends. I came on Unilocal to see what options were available and saw that Janette came highly recommended.
I called her up, left a message and she promptly returned my call. That evening my husband and I took the dogs over to her place to check it out and see if we would feel comfortable leaving our dogs there for the week. Within probably 30 seconds we were completely at ease and knew that we would feel 100% comfortable leaving the dogs with Janette and her boyfriend. The next morning our smaller dog somehow escaped the house, and Janette was magically the one who came across him wandering the neighborhood, which felt like a «sign» that she was the dog sitter for us! (feel free to roll your eyes) :)
While we were out of town, Janette was extremely prompt in responding to inquiries about how the pups were doing and each time we were 100% positive that the pups were in the best hands possible.
Last night when we went to pick the dogs up, the pups were happy, healthy and slightly less enthusiastic to see us than I was expecting — which I’m sure was because they were so content while we were gone.
Will 100% hands down use Critter Sitter in the future! Thanks Janette for taking SUCH GOOD care of our pups.

Janette is fantastic! Hands down BEST pet sitter there is. She is reliable, organized, profession, accommodating, and friendly. Honestly, the list could go on and on. I swear her compassionate attitude just attracts pets because my vizsla is absolutely in love with her!
I am so lucky to have found someone who I truly trust with my pet. Her «critter sitter» services are as good as it gets!

Janette is awesome! She’s been with my Weim puppy and me since day 1 and is always available to help us out, even taking him to the vet and obedience class when I’m in a crunch. I know he loves her because he sees her car at the park and gets super excited! When I was sick she took him on extra long walks to try and wear him out for me so I could rest, which was oh so appreciated. She’s extremely professional, super nice, always on time and usually able to handle last minute requests.

In the past I always had friends stay with my pets and housesit when I went on my annual vacation/​trip. That got o be a hassle & now I’m retired & want to do more short ‘get-​aways’. I found Janette, the Crtitter Sitter on the Internet & bonus! she lives right around the corner from me! Janette is awesome! Upbeat & really, really great with my dogs! Now I seriously have ‘peace of mind’ when I travel !! Thanks to the Critter Sitter, Janette!

Janette is great, reliable and responsible and obviously a genuine pet lover. She took care of my house and cat for me for a week, and I am so sorry to say that there was a strange insect infestation that I learned of when I got home… and she took care of it, and never even bothered me on vacation. Also, my cat, who is always totally traumatized when we leave her was completely nonchalant when we came home. She definitely got real attention, not just food and water. We are now puppy shopping and Janette is the first person I’ll call when we need help with our new pet.

Janette was recommended to me by a good friend and co-​worker of mine for pet sitting and I was super excited to find out that she lives just down the street for me. She was super easy to get a hold of, loves my pups, and I could tell they had a blast with her while I was gone for the night and day. I had no doubt in my mind I could trust her with my little guys and I will definitely be using her services again… You should too!

We recently had to leave town for a family situation, I called critter sitter
and the owner Janette was able to come over and discuss the house and dog requirements. She was able to come over the same evening and meet Max our rat terrier who immediately took a liking to her. When
we got back home after 4 days of torture in Sacramento we were greeted
by a happy and healthy Max, and the house was well taken care of.

Janette is the best! She is really great with our dog and cat. Her availability is great. She is very trustworthy and always does extra errands for us. Our pets are shy around most people, but they love Janette.
