Ok, where do I begin? Well first of all this review is loooong overdue.
I discovered Angela and her work through a mutual IG follower. I was impressed with all of the pictures her client’s posted on Instagram. I then reached out to her via text and she was so responsive and sweet off bat. Right away she scheduled me an appointment months out, which is very helpful since I am driving two hours away. From the moment I got there she was very friendly and excited to work on my hair. I told her the look I was going for and she completely understood my vision. I explained to her how awful my «hair experiences» have been in the past and she reassured me this experience would be different. I completely felt comfortable with her and watched her go to work. Words cannot even begin to describe the masterpiece she created with my lifeless hair. Once thing I must say is that Angela is not just a hairstylist… This girl is an artist!!! Even watching the process of how she created my look was so interesting and like nothing I’ve seen before. The end result was beautiful, vibrant, bouncy hair and I could not stop touching it. :)
As for Angela herself… she is very sweet and has such a passion for what she does. She offered me something to drink and to eat while we waited for my hair color to process. We talked and laughed the whole time. I not only found my new hairstylist but a new friend! She is very honest about the process and will give her professional opinion on what is best for your hair. I seriously will not let anyone touch my hair ever again and if you go to Angela, I promise you will never have your hair done by anyone else again either.
My experience at the Balayage Studio surpassed my expectations and I will keep driving 2 hours just to get my hair done by Angela (the hair artist)! :)

Where shall I begin… For starters, Angela double booked my first appt with no apologies, yet asked if I could go to the mall while she attended her client. I did not, as I had little ones to pick up from school. I was interested in balayage highlights since she had ‘such’ great reviews. She said my hair was way damaged and it would be better to go dark. I honestly don’t know if this was because she wanted to tend to both clients or what the deal was. I ended up w dark a** hair and she said it would be two years before I could ever do any highlights or see some blondness. I know for a fact that someone who knows their stuff can get it done. In addition to the dark color, I did not care for the attitude or comments she made about my previous highlights, saying that they were «old school». In my opinion, no professional should critique or bash another’s work, obviously I was there to try something new. To add to this, the color lasted two washes and when I called her she said blamed it on my so called damaged hair, bologne! Not worth the $ 300!

Angela is amazing! After a horrible job done by a different salon, I was desperate to get my hair fixed and she was able to do that! My hair feels and looks amazing!

Alright, so I’ve had my fair share of hair salon nightmares prior to yesterday. I have enough hair growing out of my head for like four humans. I had been looking through reviews on and off for months. I came across Angela’s Unilocal page and saw all of her amazing balayage work so I went ahead and texted her. She was able to get me in within less than a week. Communication was awesome before and during the appointment. I showed her a few pictures and she went to work. I was scared to go short with such thick hair (triangle hair no thank you!!!) but she cut and texturized it to lay perfectly. My hair is lighter and has so much more movement now. She took my dull brown box color to a beautifully blended balayage. I cannot stop playing with it. I love it so much. I will not go anywhere else to get my hair done ever again! Thank you Angela. Truly talented.

Angela is amazing!!! I could not be more happy with the way she did my hair. Her studio in little Italy is SO cute and the products she uses are amazing. She’s so sweet and truly cares about her clients and takes her time. I am so happy I found my new hair dresser!

If I can give more stars, I would! Angela is amazing at what she does! I’ve been around the hair industry previously, and hands down — she is truly amazing! I’ve never had so many compliments on my hair as I have been getting since Angela has touched my hair with her magic. All I had to do was give her a simple description of what I wanted and the results were even better than what I had pictured in my own mind. I can’t express enough how much I love my hair and how awesome Angela is!

I’ve always gone to hair salons and asked hair stylist to dye my hair ‘chestnut brown’, which always ended up being super blonde. It didn’t match my skin tone or my face. And I’ve been hesitant to do my hair ever again. BUT then I met Angela for my first Balayage and she definitely knew what she was doing! It was probably the quickest hair service (love that!) I’ve ever received but man, the results were WORTH IT!!! I never knew how good I looked with darker hair and the brown highlights made it even better! Went back to work afterwards and had DOZENS of compliments. HIGHLY recommend her!

I wish I could give Angela a million stars. She is extremely talented and knowledgeable and passionate about her work and it shows! It is perfection every time. I am extremely picky and a perfectionist when it comes to my hair and I will not trust just anybody, I will not go to anyone else but Angela. She uses the best products (specifically Olaplex), no damage and because of her my hair has gotten so healthy! She also is a pro at blowouts! The great thing about seeing Angela, not only are you guaranteed beautiful hair, she is easy to talk to, will make you feel comfortable and confidante and she is so sweet and funny! I am forever grateful to have found her because there is nothing better than having a good friend who does great hair!

Angela is amazing at what she does! Gives such an amazing hair cut! It really lasts! Also she uses amazing organic products that make your hair smell and feel amazing!

Angela gave me the exact cut I wanted! She’s also very knowledgeable about real organic products which is very important to me since I’ve had several different allergic reactions to products like Pureology, Karastase and more. I loved the products she used on me so much I purchased them and I can’t wait to see how much more they will improve my quality of my hair!

Angela is incredible with hair!!! I moved to California from New York almost three years ago and have gone through a number of stylists, never really getting exactly what I wanted. Always left just a bit disappointed or underwhelmed. Well, no longer! I went from a deep red to a really complex darker color and I couldn’t be happier. The balayage is a perfect compliment to the cut and the way I style my hair. Angela spent so much time and took so much care with my hair. You can tell she’s absolutely dedicated to her art form. And I choose those words carefully, she truly is an artist. I scheduled my next appointment before leaving her studio. 100% recommend this business. Thanks, Angela!!!
Returned today for a cut and a color update and again couldn’t be happier. Angela has made some updates to the studio which give it a really nice feel. Of course her customer service is wonderful, she treats you like a guest in her home. Can’t say enough about Angela and the work she does. Very happy!

Angela is so passionate about what she does! She is an excellent stylist and such a caring person. She creates picture perfect hair, every detail is gorgeous. She does amazing color, cuts and styling. And her place is so cute!

The amazingly talented balayage specialist/​hair colorist/​stylist, Angela came to my rescue about a year ago! The moment I walked into her studio, I knew my hair was in EXCELLENT and EXPERIENCED hands! She listens to her clients’ needs and expectations and offers the BEST advice and direction to the individual’s hair and style. She is so passionate about hair and what she can do with hair. The best way to describe her multi-​talents, is simple. She is the hair stylist version of Picasso, she envisions her artistry and paints a beautiful unique masterpiece! I promise you will be in awe of her work! I walked into Angela’s studio with dull and brittle hair a year ago. But, Angela has worked magic on my hair by ALWAYS using Olaplex. With every color/​balayage treatment, she uses Olaplex to help prevent damage to my hair and keep the beautiful balayage! If you don’t know Olaplex, look it up because it’s some incredible stuff;). I could honestly go on and on… she is beautiful, intelligent, sweet, thoughtful, but REALLY she will help you and your hair and have you leaving feeling gorgeous!

I have been getting my hair done by Angela since 2009 and would never ever let another colorist touch my hair! She is a master at what she does and I have never ever seen someone do better work than her! Every time I tell her what I want, she gets it, I never leave disappointed. I have sent two of my friends to her and they will never let someone else touch their hair again. Angela is the best!

Angela is a truly talented stylist. I’ve been going to her for years, and won’t go anywhere else. I get a cut and blow out and she has me out of there in less than an hour feeling beautiful!
Her salon is conveniently located in the Mission Valley area and there is a large parking lot, so parking is NO issue.

I have gone through more hair girls than I can count, and FINALLY found one I can use forever! Angela has been doing my hair for the last few years and honestly, no one has ever been better. I am extremely picky with hair and always struggled to find someone as picky as me. Every stylist would swear she «got it» but I would always leave with ugly hair, nothing close to what I wanted. Angela understands what looks good and actually cares about the condition of your hair. She made me wait to bleach it a ton where as most stylists would just bleach it and leave you with broken hair.
Side Note– I saw someone said she picks and chooses her clients and yes I can say if you cancel she won’t rebook you, she’s busy what do you expect?! Don’t be a flake and you won’t have a problem :)
Sure you can find someone cheaper but when it comes to my hair, no thank you. My balayage from Angela has lasted up to a year! No joke. Worth every penny!

I wanted to make my mom feel super special on her birthday. I knew she has been talking about the newest technique for hair painting also known as «Balayage» so I typed Best Balayage hair stylist in San Diego and I found Angela.
She also had amazing reviews and pictures that could not compare to any of the other stylists. I was so happy with the outcome of my mom’s hair and my mom felt so beautiful and also said Angela was so nice, down to earth and made the hours fly by.
I would totally recommend her to any of my friends.

I can’t explain what a relief it was to find Angela. I was driving all over San Diego, going to different hair dressers — one for hair cuts, one for extensions, another when I wanted a blow out. I found Angela on Unilocal because I wanted to do balayage in my never before colored hair. After being in her chair for 20 minutes, I knew she would be my new «hair person.» She is so confident in what she does, and inspires confidence, because she has an artistic vision and talent unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a stylist. I was SO happy with the color she did. I will never go back to my flat color. I now go to her for haircuts and extensions too. I’ve never been so happy with my hair before in my whole life! I would recommend her to all of my friends, except I don’t want it to become impossible to get an appointment …

Angela is so talented and truly has a passion for hair! She has been doing my hair for over 12 years and I get compliments on my hair daily thanks to her! Angela always changes up my color/​style to keep it current, fresh, and healthy. She is always up to date on the newest hairstyling and coloring techniques and she’s just naturally gifted with a great vision for color. We have taken my hair from dark brown to blonde and have done ombré and my newest obsession is balayage. Angela uses the best products like Olaplex when she colors my hair to keep it healthy because I love to change my style so often. Angela is certified for hair dreams hair extensions and has been doing my extensions for the past 3+ years and my hair has never looked better. Hairdreams hair extensions are definitely worth the price because they are so natural looking and Angela always does an amazing job with maintaining them. I always feel beautiful when I leave her chair!

Angela is a true professional in every way. Her passion for hair shows in her effortless talent. It is impossible not to walk away from her studio without beautiful hair. She listens and understands what you want and gives you full attention. I’m not the type of girl who enjoys getting my hair done– I have 4 kids and constantly have things to do. She is so knowledgable about hair and products, and will keep your hair healthy (with olaplex) while doing balayage. I started off with virgin hair, and continued to go lighter every time I got my hair done. I have never been disappointed and I recommend her to everyone! The turnout always looks so amazing, and I continuously get compliments even after my hair is 6 months old. She really is the best in SD!

Angela is the master of balayage! She has such a passion for that specialty in hair and is so confident in her work. She made me believe my hair would be awesome before even seeing it based on her confidence and her love for balayaging! My first experience with the balayage studio was amazing, angela is such a very skillful and knowlegeable hairstylist!
