Thai Health Massage Spa

All I need to say is «amazing massage»! I was referred by a friend and it proved to be great. I will be a repeat customer over and over.

I received the most wonderful Thai massage a couple of weeks ago at this establishment. The masseuse gave me a true Thai massage and was incredible in how she determined my difficult areas and worked them over with dexterity and artful attentiveness.
After just returning from Thailand a couple of weeks before, this facility is the best I’ve found in the San Diego for experiencing an incredible Thai massage. (Of course, the massage was delivered by a true Thai masseuse.)
Additionally, if you wish to contact them by phone it can be problematic as they are serving customers, but the website for Thai Health Massage is the best I’ve encountered for scheduling services.

I’ve gone to many Thai massage places and this one is by far my favorite. I feel like the customers who have complaints about this massage just didn’t understand what they were getting themselves into when they signed up for a Thai massage. I actually love the fact that this place doesn’t mix any soft Swedish strokes into the regimen and therefore offer the full benefit of the Thai massage. I’m sure some people are too delicate or sensitive for this type of massage, but it is not the fault of the therapist if they didn’t speak up about it.

The Asian woman On the phone was NOT nice at all. She was really rude!!!
If you tell her you bought a groupon she will say she is fully booked until the groupon expires So you can’t go. She even hang up on me!!!

I’ve only had a Thai massage 3 times in my life but this was probably the best one! Panida did a fabulous job working on my tight shoulders. It’s amazing how strong she is for her size… Although people say the same about me too
As long as you don’t mind being walked on and stretched to your limits I highly recommend this place! Very effective and at a great price point.

A little hard to find but very much worth the search. An unassuming building with a wonderful shop on the third floor, Panida delivers an authentic Thai stretching massage with grace and charm. I highly recommend it!

Okay but not great for my taste. I was sore or bruised the day after. I won’t go back. I bought Unilocal deal which she added $ 30 to cost listed on deal. Nice lady and all but would have rather gone elsewhere for the price.

This place is amazing. The masseur (also the owner) is so experienced. I have serious neck and shoulder pain, and I feel much better after the massage.
However they can only take one client at a time, so be sure to make an appointment.
The owner says you could go to their website and click the deal, then pay directly to her.
Next time I will do the 90min massage for only $ 45. Nice price.
Highly recommend this place!

I will start with the Pro’s since overall the negative aspects were somewhat offset by a good massage.
But if you are looking for a relaxing western style spa massage experience, look elsewere.
Pro:
Strong massage using various massage techniques and tools which do provide muscles tension relief.
Good prices, especially if you have a groupon deal, $ 30 bucks for 60 minutes
Willing to tailor technique and amount of pressure to customer requests.
A lot of parking in the back of the building.
Panida does seem interested in giving the client a massage that makes you feel better. She takes extra effort to work on tension the areas that you tell her are tight or sore.
Sushi OTA is in the same mini mall if you time it right you can get in for lunch.
Con:
Four things give me a bad first impression, which is not good when looking for a nice massage experience.
First, it is located in a small strip mini mall on the third floor of an older medical building.
Second the first words spoken to were «How are you going to pay?» Really, that’s how you greet customers?
Third words spoken. «You need to fill out this form totally (including your home address, phone, email, age emergency contact info and their phone, age etc), otherwise no service. I have a lot of customers and they all fill it out completely.»
Fourth, there is a fairly strong medicinal/​herbal smell in the facility, which comes from the lotion or oil used for the massage. It is prevalent and you can smell it in the waiting room. I went home and took a shower and wash my clothes after as I did not like it much (It I hard to describe, kind of like a mix of Vicks vapor rub and Chinese herbal medicine).
Panida used her feet and tools a lot in the massage (However she is willing to not use those feet or tools if requested). I asked her to just do her thing so I could experience a Thai massage as it was meant to be. If you also do this, understand this is not a relaxing massage, there will be a lot of foot stepping on your body, tool thumping, and arm, leg and back bending and pulling. In my case bruising as well (Panida said it was to get the toxins out of my tight shoulder muscles).
The massage is done on a mattress on the floor (probably to facilitate the massage by feet). I did not find it too comfortable. One pillow was under my chest and one under my forehead to create a space in between for me nose and mouth to breathe. I prefer the tables with the hole for you face.
The masseuse never introduced herself (although I had to provide a lot of personal information on the form). Maybe she was too preoccupied with asking how I was intending to pay :)
I only refer to her as Panida from reading the other reviews.

Bought this on groupon… I have had a few thai massages before and this by far was the worst. I felt no relief or relaxation from this massage. This has been the only place where I haven’t felt relaxed. Panida is a very nice woman, but she has her own way of massaging. She uses her feet a lot with good pressure but she does it only on a certain spot and doesn’t really address other areas of the body well. When she does use her hands its very weak and more of a caressing feeling. It’s like she is just lathering your body with lotion. I asked her to put more pressure and she just disregarded it 2X. When she stretches you she is very ROUGH. If you are not flexible or have never had a Thai massage I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. About the equipment in the room, she just has 2 mattresses on the floor with a large heating pad on it… Wasn’t very comfortable. I would not come back to this place.

I had my first Thai massage today. I will certainly be a return customer.
I’m almost 60, I’m healthy, fit and work out routinely. It seems like the workouts build up over time, and I start feeling sore. I typically rely on deep tissue sports massages, and a few times a year I even go to a chiropractor to have my back popped. While both of these absolutely help, I’ve found myself wanting something more of a combo of these two. I opted to try a Thai Massage; I chose the Thai Health Massage Spa based on positive Unilocal postings.
I got exactly what I was looking for. My body was massaged, stretched and popped… over and over for a solid hour. I asked for a «hard» session, and Panida really worked me over. (Be sure to ask her to modify her workout if desired, and she will graciously do so.). My body feels great! This is exactly what I’ve been wanting from my sports massages and chiropractor visits!
The office is clean and professionally and tastefully decorated. It’s a very positive environment. Panida is very pleasant, and has a nice sense of humor. She put me at ease immediately, and I thoroughly enjoyed my massage. I certainly will be returning!

Panida is a gifted Thai-​style Masseuse and generous with her Groupon Offers.
I have very tight muscles and sometimes it is uncomfortable to be stretched out but totally worth it later. I also feel more energized a couple of days later. It is so healing and feels good to have the muscles be awakened.
I love her to walk all over me and use hot towels. Some may not like this approach and all you have to do is ask her not to do it. She has many tools in her arsenal to nudge your body toward health.

My husband and I came here for the first time today. The place has plenty of 2 hour parking available. We’ve never had Thai massages before and it was definitely not my husband’s cup of tea.
I’m indifferent about Thai massages. I feel better and she made my aches disappear. The crazy stretching techniques felt really good. I didn’t mind the hot towels or the tool she used. I know it’s apart of the massage, but she used her feet a lot to massage. She stepped on me and walked all over me. I’m not a fan of using feet. I heard and felt a bunch of cracking and she did a much better job adjusting me than a chiropractor I went to.

Courteous, efficient, and very generous with time. I highly commend this therapist.
The place is clean, but hard to find. It is on the third floor.

This lady rocks! I’m a massage whore, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I let almost anyone put their hands on me. Almost.
After getting $ 3.00 massages everyday in Thailand I came back to the states and refused to pay 45 – 50 bucks! So I resorted to just getting $ 15 – 20 dollar Chinese massages, as you would see I frequently get massages. However if a good deal pops up on groupon I’ll jump on it. Needles to say, I had found and went to a different establishment in San Diego a while back, however when I called to make an appointment they couldn’t accommodate me. So I jumped on groupon and found this place! It was the best thing that could have happened!
This woman is AhhhhMazing! She is so good at her practice. I always leave feeling awesome! I always tell people that a good thai massage hurts while you’re getting it done, but the after the feeling is heavenly! Although her massages don’t hurt like others I’ve had.
Anyways if it wasn’t for the fact that I live in L.A. I would come here more often and I’ve already been 3 times!

I wish I could agree. Too fast, too rough, burned me with hot towels… I’m bruised and my husband is still in pain. She needs to individualize to persons request and sensitivity.

Thai Health Massage Spa offers affordable, high quality massages.
It’s not a luxury day spa but if you’re just looking to get an effective massage it’s worth it. The décor, mood setting, and the massage table and floor mats were a lot nicer than the other massage studios I’ve been to at the same price point.
This was my first Thai massage and I’m so mad at myself for not trying one sooner. I’ve tried all sorts of types of massages— deep tissue, sports, Chinese foot and full body massage, Swedish — you name it. This was hands down the best massage I’ve ever received. Not only did the Thai massage style work extremely well for me vs. the other types, Panida’s care and skill made the experience extremely comfortable and relaxing. I have a lot of shoulder pain and knots from sitting at my desk, old sports injuries, sleeping in weird positions, etc. Panida put extra care into asking me about my trouble spots in addition to working the whole body to bring complete relief. After the massage, my knots had been broken up considerably and my range of motion improved. I felt like a lot of progress was made in such a short time.
If you haven’t tried Thai massage before, you might want to read up on it a bit so that you know what to expect. It is more active than just laying on a table, but again this made the massage highly effective for me.
My new go-​to massage spot! I will be back soon! Thank you!

Panida def knows what she’s doing. I came back from 2 days of heavy snowboarding and worked out 4 days straight after that. I was really needing a massage and took a gamble on one of my groupons, hoping it would be a good massage. I opted for the sports massage and it was totally worth it. Within 15 minutes, I knew she was legit as I was already starting to feel better and requested to do an additional 30 minutes on top of my groupon. She stretched my entire body without a problem and is very strong with her massaging techniques. I requested a medium pressure and it definitely held up.
She could also tell that I had some pain spots in my back and used some suction things on my back and helped removed the toxins. Only thing she didn’t warn me was that it would leave some red marks on my back for the next 3 – 4 days, but the benefits of it was worth it.
The prices make this a great deal and hoping to make this my regular place. My only complaint would be that I had a commercial while the music was playing (probably from pandora) which was a little disturbing while I was trying to relax.
Also a bonus is that its in the same plaza as Sushi Ota. If I schedule it right next time, I could get a massage then have lunch at Ota.

Panida is amazing!!! If you’ve never had a thai massage before you are definitely in for something special. And different!
The place is a little difficult to find at first. It’s in the same building as planned parenthood, the entrance is facing a side street. Take the elevator to the 3^rd floor, turn right then you’ll see the door to the best massage ever!
Panida is kinda small but she is so strong and super sweet. She twisted me in weird angles and stretched my entire body. She also asks if there is any particular place I would like her to focus on — I did in fact have a very tight spot on my upper back and she concentrated on it until it stopped hurting. She asks you throughout the massage if you’re doing okay and seems like she genuinely takes care of her customers
