Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Nooooooooooooooo! «The restaurant is closed for the time being.» What does that mean?! No more Gai Yang?! Ya killin me! Now where am i supposed to get the official Thai BBQ Chicken?! The official Thai iced tea?! I dunno why, but thats what the recording on the new phone number says… and i say — what a disappointment! Stay tuned, fingers crossed that this is only a temporary closing.

If I’m reviewing this as a Thai restaurant, and I’m to have any integrity as a reviewer, I have to give it just one star. Even though it’s clean, and staffed with friendly people, at best it’s quasi-Thai. Thai Garden is a puzzling business experiment. It’s a few tables set up in a corner of the Ghazal banquet hall next door to the mosque in Serra Mesa. Apparently they wanted to add services to their banquet hall, but I can’t figure out why they would choose Thai as the type of food to sell– they’re not Thai, and they’re right across the street from the highly acclaimed Thai owned-and-operated«Thai Pepper Cuisine». It would be more appropriately named«Ghazal Thai-Fusion». I’ve been meaning to check it out since they added the sign to the front of the banquet hall, and finally my curiosity got the better of me. I braved the rain and went in for lunch yesterday. I was STARVED, and thankfully there was no wait. In fact, I was alone except for restaurant staff and a guy setting up tables for that evening’s banquet. I was warmly greeted and placed my order immediately. The Laotian staff was courteous and efficient, and within 20 minutes my chicken sate and Thai fried rice with fried tofu was ready. The food tasted ok, but the flavor and appearance was what I’d expect from a Chinese restaurant. Not really Thai flavors at all. I’m not saying don’t go there, but if you want authentic Thai this might not be your best option. I’ll probably get in there again, one day, if I’m super hungry and I can’t get a seat at Thai Pepper.

i came here to try their bbq chicken, which is my favorite thai dish. like another reviewer previously stated, it wasnt actually ‘barbecued’ on a grill, but HOLY F***!!! that chicken was amazing. forget the other aspects people review, 5 stars just for that chicken alone!!! i will definately go back.

This has to be the best Thai food we’ve ever had. Everything was fantastic and the service was wonderful. The décor was very nice considering it’s in a strip mall. But don’t let the location fool you, the food is completely fantastic!!! Prices were extremely reasonable and portion sizes were plenty. We all took to go boxes and will be devouring our food for lunch the next day.

Yesterday while picking up lunch, my co-worker and I came up upon this new little Thai spot next to our office. I dipped in really quick and grabbed a menu. Looked through it with a few of my other co-workers, and decided to get some today. The items on the menu sound really good, and very interesting. but today we decided to get the Chicken Larb, Crab Fried Rice, BBQ Chicken, and of course Papaya Salad. –The Larp was very tasty, spice level was at 7 of 10, but still could’ve used some more. Good thing I asked for extra raw thai chilli. Gotta try the beef larp next time. –Crab Fried Rice. man this stuff was pretty damn good! Doesn’t come with imitation crab, but real small chunks of real crab. Very good! –BBQ chicken isn’t really BBQ’d. but really roasted. The chicken was moist, tasty with a small hint of curry. Pretty good too. –Papaya Salad. FAIL! I told them level 8 spice, and it came out more like 4! The papaya wasn’t as expected. no Badak, not that spicy, and not the business. More bland, and not worth getting again in my opinion. But other than that, everything else was cool. there prices were reasonable, considering it’s thai food. Personally I’d rather not pay for Thai food, cuz I can make it myself, but when ur lazy to cook, at least you can be able to buy some right! .That’s it, probably come back another time, and try out the soups, and have the crab fried rice again, but definately not for their papaya salad!

We discovered this brand-new restaurant by accident, and I couldn’t be happier. Located inside the Ghazal rental hall complex, Thai Garden provided me with some of the finest Thai food I have had in quite a while. The Pad See-ew with chicken was plentiful and perfectly prepared, with an excellent assortment of ingredients. My dining companion ordered the yellow curry with chicken — the bowl was huge, and the flavors were a perfect balance. Prices were extremely reasonable, the portion sizes were quite large. The ingredients were fresh, and the service was charming, cheerful and attentive. I wish this business all the best, as I intend to eat here as often as possible.
