Description

Specialties

Our specialties lie in our commitment to provide the finest quality seafood that is available in the world. 80% of our selection arrives from the renowned Tsukiji & Kyusyu fish markets and is delivered in precise fashion, 3 – 4 days a week. Master recipes include Anago, Uni, Blue-Fin Toro (Spain), Ankimo (seasonal), and Hikarimono (Saba, Kohada, Aji, Kibinago, Iwashi, Shima-aji).

History

Established in 1984.

Originated in Del Mar, California for 19 years. Re-located to Kearny Mesa since 2003 in an attempt to provide a more intimate and exclusive traditional restaurant experience not commonly found outside of Japan today.

Meet the Business Owner

Koji K.

Business Owner

Since he was sixteen years old, his tireless work ethic to become a master chef has been a life long goal. Kotani-san is perhaps the only true Edo-style sushi chef we have in San Diego. His strict adherence to traditional sushi creation is not only rare, but also a style that is not generally recognized among casual diners. He is proud to claim his own business for over 27 years, while generating a client base that is appreciative of the devotion to his craft and true artistic culinary ability.

While our advertising has been conventionally word of mouth, we are appreciative of those who take the time to mention us. We would like thank those that who have given us polite recognition over the years as an attempt to relay our message to the San Diego dining community. Our most recent review in the Union-Tribune, written by Anthony Schmidt of the Noble Experiment:
