Steve and crew came to tile our home and did a wonderful job. Would we use him again? Absolutely!

Six years later we are in a new house and the bathroom had a pink and brown color scheme. I called Steve for an estimate and he was available and as always gave me very fair pricing. His guys worked so hard — I really never saw them take breaks even. The tile is gorgeous. Steve was very considerate and managed to work around our busy household of children and pets. I really don’t have a single negative to hiring Steve.

I always wanted a gazebo, gramma had one and I loved sitting in there with a cold lunch on a hot day. I had a few designs in mind and met a home remodel company at a home improvement expo. Steve and his team stand above the other contractors we have hired to do remodel work. Steve gave us a detailed itemized quote along with an estimated schedule. Steve and his team showed up on time, every time (imagine that!) and did the job correctly with pride and enthusiasm. The next time we have a bathroom or kitchen to remodel, we’re calling Steve.

I had a small job, but an important one, and Steve was the ONLY one to call me back and help me remove and replace tiles in my kitchen. His work is impeccable!!! He was friendly, prompt, fair and communicated well. Awesome experience!

Steve is the best. He is laid back, yet on top of his stuff. Totally communicative throughout the whole process, but not annoying. Above all, his work is beautiful, reasonable, and he has wonderful ideas if you are on the fence about what you need to do. I wish I could hire Steve for every project that I have.

Steve-​O is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. We hired Steve-​O about a year and a half ago to re-​do our floors in a large family room that connects to a kitchen which connects to a laundry room and a full bathroom. I have trouble finding the words to describe how genuinely pleased we were to have been fortunate enough to hire him.
We recently contacted him again to do another larger bathroom, including a large shower tiling job. It finished soon after and it is just as inspiring and amazing as his first jobs with us.
What puts Steve-​O in the best-​of-​the-​best category is his awesome attention to detail, his excellent quality of craftsmanship, his incredibly artistic vision, his eye for perfection, his fantastic attitude and disposition, his fair pricing, and his incredibly timely project completion. It doesn’t get better.

When I decided to finally replace the cracked, ugly, boring old white tile in the kitchen and living room of my rental house, I surveilled my options on Unilocal.I got estimates from both a brick-​and-​mortar showroom store that included tile and installation, and another estimate from Steve, expecting the former to be more expensive. I was surprised that the price was very similar (I hoped and expected I would see more savings by avoiding the brick-​and-​mortar showroom). I decided to go with Steve anyway even though it wasn’t really a cost savings because he seemed to really understand my needs. My tenants were going to continue living in the unit while the floor work was being done, so it was essential that the project be done on schedule and with minimal mess and disruption. Steve was the perfect choice for the job.
Steve worked with me as best he could on the price, including helping me by buying the tile using his contractor’s discount, which was a great savings. He also returned some of the excess tile at the end to get me a refund. He was very knowledgeable about the tile, including recommending an off-​set installation of the 12×24s to minimize the slight convex shape of the tiles. He helped me with color recommendations to match the space, coordinate with the hardwood floors and to be practical (very glad I went with a darker color in a rental — loved the look of the light color, but would have hated the maintenance), but he never forced his opinions on me.
Steve was responsive, on time, polite and professional, and (very important to me) worked well with the plumber I selected — who he had never met before — to coordinate the installation of a new sink/​plumbing in the bathroom. We made a few changes throughout the course of the project (I decided to add a tile wainscoating in the bathroom, only to discover that the tile would not fit behind the toilet.) The coordination with the plumbers and changing scope of the project required really good communication all around, and Steve was terrific.
In addition, Steve payed attention to details, such as needing to shave off the bathroom doors to make them shorter to accommodate the higher tile. When the doors started to stick again on the new tile after some rain (no doubt the old doors absorbed some moisture in the air and expanded), he came right out to fix it.
Despite my initial concerns that the cost was higher than I had hoped, working with Steve was a reminder that you get what you pay for, and his services were worth every penny.

I couldn’t wait to put in my review until Steve was done with our tiling job because it already looks THAT AMAZING! He is re-​tiling our 20-​year-​old family room, entry way, fireplace, three bathrooms, laundry room and another entry way. He is a perfectionist, is very easy-​going, listens to my concerns, etc. I knew he was the one for the job during the first interview. You just know when the fit is right and I am not disappointed. I am glad I looked on Unilocal.There is absolutely no one else you should look for when a tiling project comes up. I can’t wait to see the entire outcome!

Steve is the REAL DEAL!
He completed my kitchen floor yesterday, 3÷31÷14, and I couldn’t be happier. After a leaky water line behind my fridge left my floor flooded and unsalvageable, I decided to put out some facebook feelers to see if there were any good tile guy recommendations.
I had a few different folks give estimates, some higher and some lower than Steve, but I immediately had a great feeling about him as he took the time to explain the process, how he would approach the project, and he paid particular attention to the details that I had initially overlooked (sealing the grout, how tiles line up, pattern ideas, transition pieces, etc.)
He started the work early Saturday morning (showed up exactly on time), and he was meticulous with the prep work to ensure my place remained clean and unimpacted by the dust. I left him unsupervised the majority of the weekend, trusted him in my place and tried to stay out of his way. I returned to a finished product that was absolutely AMAZING!
I’ll be honest, I’m pretty fastidious, especially when dealing with something like flooring. With that being said, the tile was put down PERFECTLY! Completely level, cut precisely to the wall, joints are error-​free, exceptional work…
I would absolutely recommend Steve to anyone looking for a true professional to drive a quality tile project. He cares about his work, and he cares about his customer. I truly couldn’t give a higher recommendation.

Steve is great!
He is professional, friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and most importantly, he is good at his job. He redid the guest bathroom floor in my house, and it turned out exactly what I wanted. He fixed the defects on the wall trim before putting on the grout w/​o extra charge. He also helped me match the color of the grout used for the kitchen tiles. While he’s working, he was respectful to my home and schedule, and he worked fast. I recommended him to my family and friends, and I will highly recommend him to anyone who needs a «tile guy.»

Steve went above and beyond our expectations. We had him do our shower from scratch. He put in large 12×24’s and small glass/​shell mosaics on the walls and river stones on the floor. He organized everything along the way from the plumber to the hot mopping so that everything coordinated seamlessly. We really appreciated his great communication along the way. We started wondering whether there are so many available jobs out there because some contractors that were originally bidding on the project weren’t very helpful and responsive.
We even ran into some unexpected plumbing issues in our old home that were beyond the scope of his work but he was there to help us out with the diagnosis and extra work. His quote was very reasonable. We will definitely use him on our next tiling project. He’s a stand up guy and we respect his honesty and integrity.

Steve was great! I had only a small tiling repair job but Steve still gave me the same service as you might expect for a much larger job. Getting a quote took only 1 day and he made time to complete the job for me right away while completely accommodating my schedule. The quality of work was very good AND his fee was exceptionally reasonable… I wish I had more projects to give him! I highly recommend his services.

The first job we had Steve-​O do 4 years ago was our bathroom shower. We replaced some old worn out tile with beautiful travertine! He had lots of great suggestions on top of the design we were already thinking through. He made us a couple built in cubbies, as I like to call them, for all our shower supplies. 4 years later, it still looks fantastic!
We just had Steve-​O and his helper redo our kitchen and bathroom tile flooring. The kitchen was laminate, and we replaced it with a porcelian tile that looks like wood. The bathroom was river rock, and we switched that to marble. Both new floors turned out superb! His prices are really good and he and his helper finished the job in only a week. He went out of his way to make sure that he used special products that dry fast so that I only had less then a day without use of the bathroom. Steve-​O is an expert in the business and really pays attention to detail! Hire him to do your next job!

We needed to have a very non-​standard shower job done at our condo. We live in the San Francisco bay area, so we had a lot of time constraints and had to do a lot of phone consultation.
Steve-​o was simply amazing. He was helpful and understanding, making sure we understood what needed to be done, who needed to do it, and how long it would take. He hooked me up with quality subcontractors for the plumbing and glass work that was required. He spent a lot of time on the phone with my dad addressing his various concerns. He showed up when he said he would and delivered the job that was promised.
These guys are pros. They managed to complete our shower job within our compressed time frame, and they were extremely accommodating to all of our needs. Our shower is absolutely beautiful, and there’s no way it would have been possible without them. Steve-​o is an artist.
If you need some remodeling done, call Steve-​o. He will totally hook you up in every way, and when you pay him, you’ll have a huge smile on your face because you’ll know it was worth every penny.

I couldn’t be happier with the tile floor Steve installed in my bathroom. He quoted me $ 700 for the job, and even though it turned out to be more work than expected (due to some subfloor problems), he did the work for the price quoted without any complaint. It also rained cats and dogs and hippos during the job, meaning that poor Steve had to cut tile in the rain, but he did so without complaint.
I felt so good about Steve’s work that I’m sending him an extra $ 100 as a tip. He deserves it.
And did I mention that the floor looks perfect?
