I am on jury duty and was looking for somewhere to eat. I got a recommendation from a friend to try St. Tropez. I ordered a Monaco panini and a bowl of the French onion soup. The sandwich was very large and the French onion soup was very good. I was very pleased with the speediness of service. In addition to a delicious meal! the location is somewhat tucked away near Horton plaza, so some might overlook it, but I really enjoyed my meal!

Went there for a quick lunch today. The French onion soup was an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. The Goat cheese quiche was nuked and the Croissant was big but not excessively delicious.

Breakfast was nothing to get excited about. Lots of better places. Food was blah. Seems to be running on a shoestring budget. They had a big screen TV on wall. Signal kept cutting out every 10 seconds. It was very distracting. Seemed like they were pirating their cable from the next door neighbor but it didn’t work well.

My friends and I went here about 4 years ago and was glad that the place still exist. I like the french theme and the fact that it isn’t busy at all on a weekend where brunch places are usually full of people. I ordered eggs benedict the last time and thought it was super delicious. I ordered their pancake special this visit that includes 2 eggs, 3 mini pancakes and 3 pieces of bacon. I thought it was a little bland and the pancake was a little dry. So I must say that I am a little disappointed but I should have just ordered eggs benedict like the last time. We had desserts however though and that was tasteful! I didn’t know Napoleon is that good but now I am a fan!

Breakfast was nothing special. The service was horrible. We sat outside and were never checked on during the meal. Had to go inside and ask for my coffee then creamer. Plates put on table waitress didn’t ask if we needed any thing else. I won’t be back

A nice and small location located near Horton Plaza in Downtown San Diego, they’ve got a great small menu to browse through. I get overwhelmed with too much and this was the perfect little menu to glance at. I ordered the California Benedict without tomatoes and a side of sausage. Delicious! I wished that this benedict came with a meat but for a small dollar amount, you can order a side of sausage, which is what I did.

No ice. No soup du jour. Quiche tasted like it was made a few days ago(soggy crust, poor consistency of filling). Women’s room had a water problem on the floor. Men’s room wasn’t much better. Both had a swampy smell. I’m not coming back.

Not bad at all. Almond paste in the almond croissant was oily, wonderfully so, though the croissant itself was brought down by it.

This place wouldn’t know a French baguette if it hit them in the face. I am shocked by how incredibly disappointing lunch was today! This place used to be great, but now it’s like the mid west diner that you stop at during a long drive when you’re too lazy to search for anything else. Never again.

They need to fix their AC! They seem to be losing plenty of customers over that! This review is for breakfast: Their food is good and reasonably priced here. My favorite here is the Eggs Benedict. I love their outside dining if you can get a seat here and in the shade. It is a beautifully, quaint place to stop for breakfast.

Yes this is a French bistro, but it shouldn’t be priced like you’re eating in Europe. For the portions you get, I feel it is a little over-priced. The service was nice but it took quite a while to get our lunch. I also asked for an ingredient to be withheld and the plate came with it on there anyway.

A predictably delicious lunch in a pleasant environment. Thanks Citlally and Violet you two are awesome! You provide great service and a friendly environment I love having lunch here. St. Tropes is the best lunch spot downtown. Great food, lovely restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and super tasty food!

I tried this place for lunch and it’s okay. I like the ambiance of the restaurant, French like setting. They have an upstairs which it pretty cool and even outside seating. The pastries are decent, they have a variety of dishes to choose from. I ordered the trio combo, soup, salad and a sandwich. I choose a tune sandwich with French onion soup and a raspberry salad. The tuna was good, but it was served on a thick and chewy sourdough bread… too much bread for me, it also had a vinegar dressing I didn’t care to much for. The soup was really good and flavorful. That I will recommend. The salad was like any other to me, basic with a dressing.

«Great Relaxing Atmosphere, Good Food & a Nice Staff« My wife And I visited St. Tropez Bakery & Bistro last weekend for a special event put on by Broadway San Diego. They were having a «Meet and Greet» for the Tony Awards best actor, singer and dancer Ben Vereen, before the Ben Vereen Awards competition at the Balboa Theater. We have been to St. Tropez before, and when you enter the front door it makes you feel like you are in a small village in France having a meal. The staff is always very nice, and Owner Othman Janati is always smiling as he servers your favorite Beer, Wine, Gourmet Tea, or Expresso Bar specialties. The restaurant serves a large variety of breakfast items, with savory crepes, omelets, and quiches. They also have many delicious Bakery items from croissants to muffins, danishes, cakes, and many more. St. Topez also serves a wide variety of lunch menu items which includes sandwiches, wraps, salads, and great tasting Panini bread. The restaurant is small, romantic and quaint, but the menu has many different options and is very reasonably priced. You will definitely be impressed and feel like you are in a different country when you visit St. Tropez. Bön Appetit !

I was staying in downtown for the weekend and wanted to get brunch and bottomless mimosas. Unilocal led me to St. Tropez and it happened to only be a few steps away from the hotel and right by Horton Plaza. My boyfriend and I both got the eggs Benedict, but his with avocado(the Cali?). Portions looked small at first(the more potatoes, the merrier), but once I wiped my plate clean I was pretty satiated. The mimosas were also truly bottomless. Our waitress came over to check on our glasses frequently and refilled them to the brim. After finishing our food, we decided to move outside to finish our current mimosas and planned to pay after that. But the mimosas kept pouring in! What a great morning buzz I had. The shop was clean, very open, and had some cool murals I just had to stare at for awhile. A nice little find in downtown SD. I’ve also been to the UTC location a couple times, but apparently it is labeled as closed now on Unilocal???So, quick review for that here: also good food but at the times I went they didn’t have their liquor license yet or something so no bottomless mimosas. :(

Just received the worst service from the little blonde french girl that works here. I can’t believe how poor her service was. I called in an order, their ham and swiss breakfast sandwhich a la carte. Which comes with eggs ham and swiss on croissant. I substituted the swiss for goat cheese. I also got a small pumpkin latte. Once I got there and told them I was there for a pickup, the guy looked at me bewildered, then said something to her. She doesn’t greet me and continues making a coffee for someone else. I’m not sure if the guy doesn’t speak english or what but they both ignored me didn’t tell me my order was coming up. Nothing. Very poor customer service. The girl finally acknowledges me and then hands me a coffee cup, what’s supposed to be my latte. I was really confused. I asked her about my latte and she said«ooooh you want me to make it?» UH yeah you fool I’m not going to get behind the counter and make it myself. I told her to just forget it and that I had to go back to work. When I got back to my office(I work across the street mind you, and have eaten here tons of times) my order is screwed up. They gave me a ham and goat cheese sandwhich, no eggs. And the cheese was everywhere on top of the croissant. Gross. I went back to complain and watched her back into the kitchen and try to blame the chef. The chef tells her something in spanish, she comes back and tries to then blame me saying that that’s not what I ordered. Apparently they have another sandwhich thats pretty much identical, thats only ham and swiss with mustard. I told that was not what I said over the phone and that I wanted the breakfast sandwhich just substituted cheese. LEARNYOURMENU. She began to raise her voice and argue with me instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding and offering to remake it. I told her very sternly that I was not going to argue back with her and I that I wanted a refund immediatley. Unacceptable. I don’t know if thats how they do service in France, I don’t get it. There used to be two amazing girls that used here I asked where they were and was informed that they no longer work there, thats such a shame. They always had amazing service. I know I wont be returning and I’ll be warning all of my coworkers.

True to all the reviews written thus far, this place has a cute atmosphere but very slow service. Came on an extremely hot Sunday morning with 8 starving gf’s. We were sat upstair’s to come and find out all they had were fan’s and no ac. We were sweating for our meals. The waitress was apologetic enough and we were all tired enough to just stay and place our orders. She assured us she’d bring us ice cold waters out. Well 15−20mins of sitting in the heat, we finally received our water. It became a fend for yourself type of deal after that. The only reason I’m giving this place a 3 stars is because of the Acai bowl($ 7.95)! Dear sweet baby jesus, it was perfect! Açaí with guarana, bananas, mixed berries & a bit of soy milk. It’s topped with their house-made granola, banana slices & fresh strawberries. It was a nice cool and deliciously refreshing bowl. I’m sure the sugar content is extremely high but outside of that I loved it. I was a happy camper. Since we were in a group of 9, they charged us gratuity in our bill. I believe it was at 15%. As an out of towner would I come back? Probably not. But if I can’t find something similar to that Acai bowl, I might just have to.

I haven’t been at any St Tropez for a while because to me the quality had gone downhill: tasteless coffee, pastries that seem to be baked a couple of days ago and just blah food. However, this morning I decided to give it a try to those brunch dishes, even though my intention was to go to Panera Bread(it was too crowded so we made our mind and crossed the street). Usual fake Provence atmosphere, with pretty painting of über beautiful Brigitte Bardott, the cutest table cloths(you would want to eat those lemons… if they were real), nice service, and zero noise(only conversational noise, perfect). Brunch was very good, but my benedict eggs and accompanying potatoes were too cold when arrived to the table. Salmon was amazing(this dish less than $ 12, nice portion for the price). My companion got the blueberries-French toast and was delicious. I was not expecting fresh berries on it. We shared all the food, the mimosas and coffee. Very pleasant brunch.
