I came by here the other day to remove my sound sys from my old car and to install it in my new car. It’s been awhile since I’ve stopped by, but Kim is always there to help and giving me the best deal. Although with my recent visit, I believe his name was Al, was very helpful. Kim was busy doing some other things but he has helped me out a couple of times in the past before. Their service is A1, friendly and fast. I usually don’t have a long wait or anything. Definitely recommend to check this place out if you need help with your car system.

Came in looking for HID Bulbs, left pissed off. The older asian male who works here is a complete A-​Hole he seemed more interested in closing out a big sale with another customer and treated my questions about HID bulbs as a joke. If you were too busy to help me you should have referred me to someone else who wasn’t busy. I can only speak on this one individual who ruined my experience at soundiego. I will never come back to this place.

I’ve been a customer for 15 years with many different cars and the service has always been stellar! Kim always makes sure the customer leaves happy and this is why I’ve recommended all my friends have their work done here. I have two older brothers with several thunderous systems put in at Soundiego ever since the early 90’s and we’ll keep coming back until we’re deaf!

Do not believe this rating system on this establishment. I was in shock to see this. Below is my review on this place. Real customer, real review. This place, this owner promises a good game, until his installs fail, from leaks, wiring issues to refurbished equipment.
Absolutely the worst installation shop I have ever been too. I paid over $ 5000 dollars to have a custom JL audio system installed in my truck with a custom built blow thru box.
The install was shady at best. Wires had nicks and cuts in them. Their positive power block had no plastic cover (leaving a positive terminal connection open in the rear of the truck.) The speakers once removed by another audio shop were noted that one was a refurbished JL W7. Shady work shady install shady people. The owner loves to talk a big game although he is horrible for warranty issues. My new system leaked water inside my new truck. This was due to their poor install of the rubber boot that was attached to the bed of the truck.
I have had stereo systems all my life I even use to do competitions. This place does not deserve to be in business. Especially since they are one of the JL Audio retail sellers.
This was one of the biggest headaches I have ever had with a business owner, audio shop or anyone ever.
Do not waist your time or money at this place. I am a real customer who had over $ 5000 of a so called custom stereo, amps, and subs installed that was horrible.

Wow. This owner is completely lying. He was the one that wanted to put the so called storage compartments. Not me.
Read the reply from him again common sense to cover your $ 45,000 4×4 if it rains outside! What? That was your job to prevent water intrusion. His so called re-​rhino lining fell apart soon after. It did not look like the original rhino lining it looked like a roll on that the shop did to save a buck. Kim you seen the crack in the boot seal and you seen they just piled caulking all over it. And Kim nobody would want you to work on their vehicle and lose the water integrity of their vehicle. Come on that is just crazy.
All the damage done to my truck could have easily been avoided if it was installed correctly. The pictures of a blow thru on Unilocal do not represent what he did to my truck at all. Don’t be fooled this is what got me to go there in the first place.
I also let JL audio know about this issue and how he treats his customers. That is probably why he says if I can show the refurb sub. I told JL Audio staff yesterday that I sold the subs shortly after the box was breaking on Craigslist. And when they were removed it was noticed as a refurb. It didn’t even have the plastic magnet cover.
Kim the only thing I asked you to do was to stop the water intrusion. You didn’t want to. I had to find another shop to remove your horribly installed sub box (which was made with the wrong thickness and that is why it fell apart) and come up with a cover for it. This should of never happened. You say you do blow thrus all the time. I seriously doubt that cause their were many problems with this install that say otherwise.

Great service! I had a Alpine unit and a backup camera installed. My car needed to be rewired because it had fiber-​optic cables. I had another place say it would cost over $ 1000 just in labor, and and take all day. Kim and his crew did it in 5 hours and it cost $ 365. Note that I had already bought all the parts myself. After I left I sent Kim a message and asked if I could have some of my steering wheel buttons changed. He told me to come back and they would do it at no extra charge! I highly recommend Soundiego!

After doing some research, found the product I wanted. I worked with Kim, who was very accommodating. He’s an authorized pioneer and alpine seller so he was able to get the pioneer double din touch screen in a day. He was up front about installation and even suggested buying some of the items online for cheaper if I wanted to go that route.
The appointment for installation was set and all I did was drop the car off and pick it up a few hours later. He did a quick walk through and I was a happy customer. I’d go back for other installs as the work was great. I forgot to mention where I wanted things placed but no biggie. Store can get busy!

Hands down and by far the **BEST** car audio shop in SD!!! Mr Kim and the crew can’t be outdone in price, customer service, or equipment. No BS prices and immaculate installation. I’ve shopped with Mr Kim for over 3 and a half years and will never go anywhere else as long as I’m in So Cal. Any type of audio equipment I needed Mr Kim has in stock and installation is way quicker than anywhere else. Results speak for themselves. Soundiego is the premier car audio dealer in SD and you won’t be disappointed in some BullSh*t «Best Buy» style install or products the other places offer.

One happy customer. Talked to Kim on the phone and was told to bring my car in. Took about 3 hours to get my rear and front camera installed for my GTR. Great service and was done properly.

This place is a hidden-​gem. I found them /​Kim through Amazon-​Installation services and called them. Kim guided me in what in-​dash system and the backup camera to choose to perfectly suit my needs. At the time of installation, Kim /​Anthony were extremely professional and super nice. Also the installation took less than 2 hours (Other places told me to keep the car for ½ day for same job). After the installation car looked and sounded like-​never before. Highly recommend them.
(Also after seeing google views of El Cajon blvd, I was not sure where I was going to park, but they have nice parking area /​work area behind the shop so it was breeze).

Okay, I know what you’re thinking… «Eeek! El Cajon blvd?» But I am a lame mom of two who drives a minivan and only wanted to get DVD players installed in my headrests. 1. I felt safe and I came back all in one piece and so did my car. 2. This place is hands down the best electronics place with the nicest, hardworking people.
I was going to get the system installed with bestbuy but after their abhorrent customer service and shoddy pricing, I decided to shop around. I Unilocaled Soundiego and thank goodness I did. They uninstalled the previous headrest players and reinstalled the new ones in under 2 hours for only $ 125. I can now drink my morning coffee in peace while the girls watch their new DVD players and I will never go to any other car audio place. It’s worth it, my friends.

You can’t beat the prices here at Soundiego because they price match! I just bought a new car and was looking to have a car alarm installed and 7 windows tinted. I called just about every car shop in San Diego (i.e. Tint World, Car Audio Heaven, Joe’s Stereo, etc) and they all quoted me $ 250+ for a car alarm w/​installation and $ 200+ for window tinting. I called Kim at Soundiego and he was able to negotiate the alarm with installation for $ 200 and 7x window tints for $ 150. Sweet deal! So I drove over there right away and there was no line at all. I just left my car there for 4 hours and he even texted me during the work and asked if I wanted to add extra options. I politely declined and that was fine for him. I came back four hours later and the windows were well tinted with NO BUBBLES OR PEELING. The alarm works like a charm and they installed for me a Viper Model 3305V which is very reliable with an LCD Beeper so I get notified if someone breaks into my car. Overall, the experience was very smooth and he didn’t try to sell me on getting extra options. Instead, he just asked if I wanted it and was okay with me declining. I will go back here again to get more work done on my car.

Had minor issues with audio going out. It was as simple as blowing a fuse. I had no clue what was wrong, but the staff is quick to help.

If you’re looking for a high end car audio place for competitive prices, this is the shop! Soundiego is the first Authorized JL dealer in San Diego since 1991, which is why I choose this place.
Never buy JL products unless it’s from an authorized dealer. Those items can be fake or grey market goods. The manufacture will not honor the warranty and you will most likely end up with swap meet parts with the JL logo!
I have been corresponding through email with the owner Kim. Emailing is very important these days. I considered other shops bit never received a reply! Kim answered all of my questions and came close to matching the price on some items. I could’ve saved a little but buying online but I try my best to support local businesses.
We made an appointment and he worked on my car. Car went slightly over estimated time but he didn’t charge me extra even though they charge per hour. The only bad part is we kind of good mixed up on prices but it’s okay. The install was but it could’ve been tuned slightly better for my taste. He was afraid he might blow something. In fact, I blew 2 subs prior so I see why he was cautious on setting the gain levels.
Overall I would come here again. I have friends who do installs but they’re busy these days. Other than my friends, I would not trust another car audio place for competitive price sand quality installations!

I came here to replace a blown sub and wanted to upgrade to a JL. For one, their one of the few authorized JL dealers in SD. Prices are great! Same sub on crutchfield and JL site they had in stock for $ 30 less! They ended up having to customize my existing box to fit new sub and didn’t charge me for it. Bottom line, great products, knowledgeable staff with no pressure selling and quick turnaround on install. I will definitely be back and would recommend coming in if you want your system dialed in at a great price for quality sound.

This is a great place. I brought my honda in for alarm system, stereo system, bluetooth, and rear view camera installation; left it overnight and everything was perfect when I got it back from them. I haven’t had any problems with the products they installed and would highly recommend their services to everyone.
The owner, Kim, is a good dude. He’s always eager to help, and his guys do quality work. Lots of top-​of-​the-​line products to choose from, tons of accessories, and they always seem to have specials going on.
Overall, a very positive experience. I need a new stereo for my other car at some point and I’m certain I’ll be taking it to these guys when the time comes.
