Have had multiple issues at this place. They have messed up at least one thing in our order every time, from sauces to mozzarella sticks. The latest order which happened today, I ordered a sonic cheeseburger and they completely forgot to put any meat on the bun. And these are the people asking for $ 15 an hour!

We just recently discovered that this sonic was so close to home and we are so excited! A sonic with an inside eating area?! Whhaaaat? Got the cheese sticks our first trip and they were a treat. The crunchy outside was delicious, no trace of old fryer flavor here! Next trip got the burger. Can’t go wrong with a sonic burger. Husband got the garlic popcorn chicken and while its not my style he loved it. I should mention while we were here an irate customer came in and was getting sort of scary– yelling and screaming and getting in the managers face. I thought he handled it well and that can be hard to do. Way to go, sonic man.

First time eating at this Sonic. I was wishing for the best. And my grilled cheese wasn’t bad, but everything else was. My child wanted to eat inside so we tried that. Seemed like the employees were nowhere to be found. Even if they saw you through the kitchen window they wouldn’t come out to see if you needed something. I had to go outside and push a button at the drive up menu to get a drink. My child got a kids meal toy that was already opened and missing pieces. Won’t be returning to this location.

I am pleased with the service i received Sunday morning(1÷24÷16 around 9 am) The gentleman who took my order was polite, listened and thorough. The breakfast items were hot and delicious. However, the iced coffee could have been better, it tasted like vanilla milk! The parking lot was clean and the young woman who took my payment at the window was cheerful for an early morning. Great experience.

The good: extensive menu and several dining options(drive thru, drive in, walk up) The bad: I’ve been there 3 times, hoping for a better experience but it doesn’t seem to happen so I’ll have to give up. Super long wait in the drive thru, to the point where they were bringing out orders for the 3 cars stacked up behind me. All I ordered was the cheeseburger combo. When it finally arrived the meat patty was luke warm and the cheese was cold and totally unmelted. I couldn’t eat it and drove back thru to return the order. Fast service at the drive in — my chili dog tasted ok on the first bite but the bun totally disintegrated before I took a second bite — what a mess, I couldn’t really salvage it and ended throwing it out! Completely dry and stale bun! Tried the walk up service next and ordered a Chicago dog. This was probably the best tasting order that I’ve had The only issue was the very long wait and there was no one in line before me. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Every time I go here in the drive thru… my food is COLD!!! On 12÷19÷15 I went to the drive thru and ordered 6 boneless BBQ wings, Onion Rings, strawberry slush and a grilled cheese. They were not even busy but I am so disappointed! When I was handed my slush it had strawberry syrup ALL down my cup. I asked for a napkin and was told«oh there are extra in the bag». I didn’t want to put that in my cup holder! Next I received my food. I only went one block over to eat, as I didn’t want to do car hop and I had my dog in the car(hence the grilled cheese was for him). When I pulled out my chicken it was COLD, not warm, not hot, COLD. The grilled cheese was rock hard… VERY disappointing. My chicken had pieces of skin, not MEAT in my container… NOTIMPRESSED!

It’s a bit of a novelty to have carhops and drive ups and when done right is a throw back that brings back all those warm fuzzy feelings from childhood. After coming here I’m glad I grew up and have the choice to not come back here again. Clairemont is a hub for great Asian food and I should have known that eating here would be like getting a NY Pizza in Hawaii. About as authentic and classic an experience as sushi from a gas station. Your setting yourself up for disaster. Entrances/Exits everywhere mean lots of arrows and an actual inside dining room was a surprise(when you see inside you’ll wonder why they even have this). It’s bright and stark like a cafeteria. The kitchen is completely hidden and communication is done via the pos and a door so it feels a bit like a prison without a service station. Carhops skate around oblivious to wait times and customer needs like condiments, missing items, receipts. Their management of this process is out of wack. Service inside is a little better and they understand the holes in the way they do things. Seeing such low ratings I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but seeing that issues from reviews years/months ago are being repeated means they refuse to correct it.(look up the quote along these lines by Orlando Bautista). Costco hotdogs have better taste than their coneys. Their buns are often stale and they don’t use salt on tots/fries or pretzel buns. Chili is ok, standard at most locations, same here. Shakes are thick, rich, but too much whip cream and their straws are not up to par. Their chicken strips are pretty good as are their sauces. Price is ok if you know what to order as half their items are mediocre and most people overpay for what they get. The only saving grace is their limeade’s(go great with vodka or rum) and their HH pricing on them. Like J. Cole has in his No Role Modelz song(in a George Bush voice) «There’s an old saying Tennessee-I know it’s in Texas-probably in Tennessee-that says, fool me once-shame on-shame on you. If you fool me, we can’t get fooled again» Don’t come here to get fooled.

First time at this Sonic before. We decided to go inside instead of eat in the car. I am not a big beef hotdog eater, however I will! l eat turkey or veggie dogs. That was the first thing I asked when I went in & she told me know only beef. So I went with popcorn chicken with onion rings as my side; sides to pick from were fries, tater tots, onion rings and some pepper poppers. Also burgers, sandwiches and breakfast items, shakes and slushies galore. The popcorn chicken were tasty. Not overcooked or hard when biten into just the right amount of crispy to chicken. Also the onion rings Wow! humongous! Not kidding the first onion ring I pulled out was wide enough to fit around my wrist lol! Wish I had taken a picture. But as you can see in the picture they are a decent size. Also the batter was sweet w\ saltness of onion, made it a good combination of salty and sweet!

FREAKINGOBSESSEDWITHTHISPLACE! They have the best coke ever! Not watered down or anything, like cheap McDonald’s coke which is hella bland! Sonic’s tastes similar to Mexican coke! I come here at least 2 – 3 times a week late night. I crave their coke, chili cheese tots and chili cheese hot dogs. HELLYES! IDGAF about healthy food. I love how they have three options: drive-in, drive-thru, dine-in. HACK: Order drive-thru because it’s 10x faster then park in the drive-in spot LMAO Forget your other fast food joints. Sonic is the place! GUYS… bring your crush here and you can sneak a smooch at the drive-in while you wait for food! WIN!

Ohhh Sonics… the days of driving to Anaheim back in my college days is now over and I can come here… or should I? Pros: –Love the drink and milk shake selection –I love the Coney Chili Dog Combo –Love the Tater tots(especially the chili cheese tots) –Location is convenient, service is quick. Cons: –Staff is mixed between friendly and welcoming to bored and monotone –Orders come out wrong 40−50% of the time, despite they ask«is everything correct on the screen?» –I’m not a fan of the burgers. Sonics… it is really just a drink/milk-shake destination for me… And chili dog & tater tot spot for me. I am not a fan of their burgers or breakfast selection. This place is straight forward, either eat in your car like the commercials with the 2 funny guys, eat inside/outside in their seating area, or go through the drive-thru(which I mostly do). Either or, you will see staff members skating all over the place. I must be getting old and more irritable because a lot of the staff here seems like they are high school or younger college students that take their sweet time. Most of the time when I go through drive thru and peek through the drive-thru window, I see workers asking«wait, what is this one?! How do you ring this up?» or «umm… we got another order that’s different?!» But granted, it’s a fast food joint, there are going to be mistakes, and especially if this job is going to be their first, make the mistakes here vs out in a more professional job setting. It would suck if you heard«this is the wrong thing!» during an operation.

Serious lack of consistency. Burrito today was very tiny, barely any filling and the tortilla is cold and hard. You would think they could at least serve warm food. McDonald’s is a better deal for breakfast and it is warm there.

It’s my first time here. Really enjoy ordering in front of a screen and menu — way more helpful for shortsighted ppl like me. Starving after packing for the whole day so I ordered cheeseburger, French toast sticks a small coconut cream shake. The shake is really huge and thick… but not very coconutty as I thought. It has a heavy creamy flavor in it, but in general not too sweet. I guess i refer In n Out’s vanilla shake… The French toast sticks: beyond my expectation! Very soft and a little bit like Domino’s cinnamon sticks in taste. Also they were better if you dip them in your shake — I invented it haha. The cheeseburger is mediocre. Or just because I’m too full after desserts lol. Not interested after a few bites.

The concept of sonics is nice. The option of either dining in your car, dining inside or going through the drive through is cool. And when you order and dine in your car, the servers roller skate and deliver you your food! Cool experience! Customer service is so so. As for the fast FOOD… The quality is poor and extremely greasy. Portions are tiny, but prices are very reasonable. They also regularly have promotions. The only reason I actually go to sonics is for their DRINKS! Their smoothies are yummy yummy in my tummy. And the slushes are the best I’ve had, not saying I’ve been to many places but 7 – 11. The slushes here at sonics has extremely soft ice and it’s fluffy and flavored. I love the fresh fruit they include in their slushes, my favorite is the strawberry. Sonics also offers ½ off drinks & slushes for happy hour from 2−4pm! Don’t expect too much. It’s fast food. You won’t get stellar customer service. The food is meh. Come for the drinks!!!

Only restaurant in San Diego that offers drive ins! Even though they have a drive thru as well, I like to order food at the drive in because: 1. You get to park in the shade 2. You get to turn off your car while you wait to save gas! 3. You order whenever YOU are ready, at the push of a button 4. If you pay card, you can swipe your card right there! 5. It’s cool to watch the servers roller skate their way over to bring you food! I love them mainly for their fresh and crispy tator tots! You can get them plain, with cheddar cheese, or chili cheese style. And the only other thing that I like is their giant drink menu! Perfect for any hot day, and its always sunny in san diego! Shakes, slushies, floats, ice cream, iced tea, you name it. I especially do NOT like their hot dogs. Although they have some pretty creative ones, the quality is not the best. The hot dogs are small and salty. Too much sodium for me. They taste like the cheap 10 pack hot dogs that you can get at the grocery stores for like $ 1.50. And I’d like to mention that the hot dog to bun proportions are way off! I prefer more meat than carbs. Basically you get this skinny anorexic hot dog sitting in a fat oversized hot dog bun. I hate that. And their burgers and chicken are so so… I would rather get burgers elsewhere. Overall, customer service is usually good. Most of the girls working here greet you very well. They are friendly and sweet. BUT today this chick tried to balance her giant red food/drink holder on my half opened WINDOW!!! That is a big NONO. You DONOT touch a customer’s car!!! Especially if it’s more than your fingers and its with something that is hard that can scratch it. What is wrong with you. They need to have like a neck strap for their food tray holders so they can easily have one free hand available like they do at baseball games, etc.

My wife and I decided to give Sonic a second try and it turned out to be a triumphant DISAPPOINTMENT. We ordered two regular cheeseburgers, one jr. Cheeseburger deluxe and a chicken strip sandwich. We received nothing that was ordered and instead received two plain double cheeseburgers and two burgers that amounted to just a piece of meat and buns. None had any regular fixings on them. We got home and realized this. We shouldn’t have to check our orders before we leave an establishment to verify accuracy.(Photo of receipt and product with my post) fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. This is the last time we consider patronizing the chain.

This review is of the drive thru. My friends and I stopped by after having Chinese food and decided to grab shakes… Best decision ever! I had the Oreo peanut butter shake that was delicious! The only problem I had was that it was too thick and the cashier didn’t provide straws… Nonetheless I still enjoyed my shake. My buddy ordered the strawberry banana, was charged for a strawberry banana but was told that they were out of baobab when we paid… Wtf?! Oh well.

I do not know how it is possible but every time I come here my order is messed up(fries instead of tots, wrong drink, wrong food, overcharged during happy hour). This happens even when I walk in. I’m not sure how the cashiers consistently overcharge me… It’s irritating. As much as I like their drinks, I wont be back because its just too frustrating. I’ve tried most of the food items on the menu(burger, hotdog, fries, tots, chicken) and it’s all pretty meh. I would come here for the experience if you haven’t been before but def. don’t come here for the food. Maybe if you need some drunken munchies if you drank at the bar next door. The ice cream slush is the best item they have. I wish they offered the same flavors they do online or were willing to mix flavors. They always refuse to do so when I ask even though they can just charge extra. Oh well. They consistently have promos going on so check out their facebook page for deals.

I tried this sonic for the first time. I had heard and read many things about the ‘food’ not being that good, but the drinks were awesome. I wanted a drink so I figured Sonic was the right place. While I was in line at the DT I decided to get food also, the hot dogs looked good on the menu. I order a Chicago dog, medium tots, and a large strawberry limeade. All were fantastic… I mean really good. The dog was hot, fixins cold and fresh, and the poppy seed bun soft. The tots were tasty, with a soft’ish center and the drink was good(was fizzy which I usually don’t care for but liked nonetheless. Service was really good for a FF place — I think I heard ‘Have a SuperSonic’ day 3x! Yay for Sonic!

CHUN P’s EXPECTATIONSVERSUSREALITY Season 6, Episode 6 SEEPHOTO $ 3.99 Cheeseburger… average tasting, but surprisingly for a fastfood advertisement photo, its pretty accurate to reality. $ 3.49 Medium Chili Cheese Tots. Doesn’t look too accurate, but they did travel for 9 – 10 minutes back to my condo. They tasted exactly as I imagined, pretty good, but the portion could’ve been larger. I’ve got a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Coupon, so I’ll probably come back to try the full«Roller Girl» experience.(I don’t mean any kind of reference to the 90s movie«Boogie Nights», starring Mark Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, and Heather Grahm)
