SoCal Window Tinting

I wish I would have read Kyle’s review before trying to go here. Made an appointment with James weeks ago and assumed the address in the Unilocal page and Google is acurate. Go there– nothing. It’s an office building. Socal window tinting isn’t even on the directory. At least Kyle got a call from James to get an excuse about a babysitter. James won’t even answer his phone or call me back. Super unprofessional. I doubt any reviews on here are real because I have no idea where windows get tinted by this guy because it certainly it’s happening at 1011 Camino del Rio s. Save yourself a bunch of wasted time and go somewhere else. And James, if you don’t tint car windows at the address listed YOU NEED TO TELL PEOPLE THAT!

Avoid James and find someone else. We had James do some film for our home and in the end I was so disappointed in his integrity, reliability and business practices.
James is dishonest. He ran my credit card twice and played ignorant and also never refunded me an additional $ 35.00 which he owed me.
James had requested half down for the materials and I provided him my credit card. The day prior to the job, I told him I would pay the balance with a check. A few weeks later I noticed on my cc statement that he had charged my card again after I had given him a check for the balance. It took him a few days to admit it and he blamed his «back office». I am 99.9% sure he does not have a back office. At that time he told me he had a lot of money tied up in a large project and that he would try and refund me asap. A week later I called the issuer and he had not processed the credit so I disputed it. If you do use him, then I suggest you don’t give him your credit card information or you too may be funding him a free loan.
James also owes me $ 35. He had promised me a check which never arrived. I asked about it a few times and was eventually told that it was mailed. Interestingly I never got it. The mail cannot be that bad. I asked him to redo one and it never arrived either. I am tired of dealing with him. Make sure if he owes you money that he pays you before you let him leave.
James is unreliable too. He showed up a couple of hours late for the first appointment and blamed it on a baby sitter issue. I was ok with it. The odd thing was that he did not bring his ladder so he could not finish the work that day. He was aware we had high windows too. I also had to provide him with masking tape. We had to schedule another day so he could do the upper windows. He was also a couple of hours late the second time too and actually brought his son with him. His son kept my wife busy watching him run all over my house. I understand people have to manage things, but he needs to figure out how to do it better and more professionally. If you plan to use him, makes sure you have hours of spare time to waste waiting for him and that you can babysit his child when he is doing the work.
James work is ok, and probably comparable to most people who do it. I just wish I had used someone else. I cannot stand dishonest people.
One key item that anyone planning to have home window tint should consider is that it may look somewhat clear during the day, but you may not be able to see out at night.

Got a new car and, of course, it needed to be tinted. The first person I thought of was James. As always, he is super accommodating. If you are reasonably close to him he will offer to pick up your car up and take it to his shop. I can’t express how convenient that was for me! I went to work, he came to pick up my car, and a couple of hours later he came back with my beautifully tinted car. As per my previous review, NO bubbles.

This place has really great customer service. I was greeted at the door, and was helped out throughout the course of my visit. I felt comfortable knowing that I made the right purchase. I will highly recommended this place to my friends and family.

so I made an appt for 9am on a Saturday. he doesn’t give me an address, so I assume it’s at the address on the Unilocal page. wrong. it’s a fake address (he’ll say it’s his office and that he doesn’t do the tinting there, but nowhere on the list of businesses at that building does it say «SoCal Window …»). I call him 3 times before he answers, it’s now 9:20, saying his babysitter flaked on him. I said whatever, call me when you get one (full well not planning on meeting him). he never calls back.
unprofessional is a huge understatement. feel like I dealt with a 16 year old stoner who just tints windows in his parents driveway. waste of time and sketchy to the max anyways. would way rather pay the extra 50 $ for a business with a location that I could go back to if anything goes wrong.

Love my window shades on my business. ! I’m glad I didn’t do window tint. Will definately contact for my window tinting on my car.

did an EXCELLENT job. did it at the LOWEST price. provided the BEST customer service. I’ve had 5 cars tinted in the past and this was my first time using SoCal Window Tint, and I won’t go anywhere else in the future.

I just had the windows of my new car tinted by James yesterday, and they look amazing! In addition to fantastic craftsmanship, James also provided excellent customer service and a very fair price. It was obvious to me that he is a perfectionist when it comes to what he does, and he was very meticulous about making sure everything came out as it should! I will definitely be recommending James and SoCal Window Tinting to others.

I had made an appointment with James after all the glowing reviews on Unilocal a couple of weeks ago. I was told to meet him at Bumper Doc work shop on Convoy st where he apparently rents a space to work out of. Not only did he not show up for the appointment, he did not answer my calls nor the calls made on my behalf by the nice people at Bumper Doc.
I waited for over an hour. The people running Bumper Doc offered to tint the windows on my car for $ 50 more than what James quoted but by that time, it was already too late. I took time out of my and my friend’s busy schedule to make the appointment on time and this guys did not even have the decency to make some kind of lame excuse for his blatant disregard for ditching the appointment. Your time is no more important than mine. I would give this business a negative star if I could.

Have used SoCal Window Tinting for all of our cars and for many years. Great prices and superb services. Highly recomend to anyone that needs your home, business, or vehicle to tint.

Best place in town for window tint. Quick service, great quality film if there’s a bubble or rip or anything wrong with the tint james will fix it and make it look perfect. I’ve had both my cars done and 2 of my friends car. James really make u feel like family!

I just had to write a review for, SoCal Window Tinting. I brought a Honda Civic Si and needed my windows tinted. I was looking for a new place to get them done, as the one I previously used to get all my cars tinted at has since gone out of business. I decided to look online and find a window tinting place and came across, SoCal Window Tinting, and inquired about their Tint and services. James helped to explain the differences between the tints, showed me the tint on his own vehicle, and told me they could squeeze me in on that same day! Keep in mind, I was just a walk-​in. I did not have a prior appointment.
James told me to come back in a few hours. Literally within 1.5hrs, I got a call back saying «your car is done» Sure enough, I get dropped back off there to pick up my civic. It looked great! So much better than before…
I waited to write this review a few days later to really let the tint cure and adhere to the windows, and I must say that the job is PERFECT. I am truly amazed not only by the quality, but also the speed at which the job was completed. The friendly customer service provided by James was just icing on the cake. This type of service will go a long way with referral business. Thank you, SoCal Window Tinting!

I was refered to Socal Window tinting by a friend of mine, and have now used their services a couple of times. James was professional, fair and good at what he does. If your looking for the right company this is it! I continue to refer people to SoCal. Thanks guys

I’ve used James for tinting both my cars and my office. He is a perfectionist, which in this field is what you want. He isn’t a slow perfectionist, he gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time and the price was great! 3 things I look for in a business: Time, Money and Quality. James and SoCal Window tinting has 5 stars in all 3.

We had our home windows tinted on the very sunny side of our house. Works awesome! I would guess it’s cooler by a least 5 – 7 degrees. Originally, we were going to use Tint World but had a bad experience, long story but they didn’t honor their quote. I’m glad we went with SoCal, cheaper and a great job!

I came to SoCal Tint solely based on the reviews I read from Unilocal.I’m so glad I chose this place — I had a wonderful experience with SoCal Tintand James is awesome!!! I couldn’t be happier with the tint. My car looks awesome! Overall — a great experience and very reasonable prices. He was also flexible with my work schedule and had the car done in less than 3 hours — plus washed it!

I have used SoCal Window Tinting at my business as well as on my vehicle’s. I’m extremely happy with the results. I had them frost the windows in my office so I could see out into my lobby, and not be eyeballed by my waiting customers, that is quite a benefit! I have also had my last 2 vehicles windows tinted limo black, another great benefit as my little ones eyes are not squinting in the sun. Great work done at a more than reasonable price in a timely manner. What more can you ask for?

I have three cars and James tinted all of them. He did such a great job, my cars look great. He provided great customer service and was very knowledgeable about the different types of tint out there. Hands down, the best in San Diego county.
