I have to start by saying I’m probably a quite difficult patient because the dentist gives me horrible anxiety! However, everyone at Smiles By Design was really great! I went in first for cleaning and x rays, next for some fillings, and again last week for teeth whitening. All of my visits I was pleasantly surprised with everyone’s positivity and friendly personalities. My confidence has had such a boost after the whitening treatment! I would absolutely recommend anyone to check out this dentist if you are in need! Seriously though! Check out these teeth!

Back again after my Invisalign — the process AND the results were fantastic! Not only that, but I have started to visit this office for my regular dental work because they are just such a pleasure to work with. They care about both your treatment and yourself as a person. Plus, the facilities and technology are top notch. Add in a great doctor, a great front and back office team, and you’ve got something that will eliminate your fear of going to the dentist’s office. Highly recommend, even after four years!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a dentist closer to my new home. I found this place through Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Here’s the kicker – I had to take my infant son to my first appointment! They were SO wonderful. From checking in, to x-​rays, to meeting the dentist (the associate dentist was in that day), to getting routine cleaning, it was all such a pleasant visit. Everyone was friendly and genuinely interested in what I wanted for my teeth. No sales-​pitch attitude at all! Just found my new dentist :)

I really trust the people that work at this office. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here. I have had two cavities filled over the past 3 years with no issues. Also, they have a program for people that don’t have dental insurance that offers discounts for procedures and includes (2) yearly cleanings. That’s a big plus for me. My dentist hunt stopped here — I’m happy here.

I was not too excited about finding a new dentist since moving in fact it was something I had put off for a year. When I finally sat down to research dentists in the area I used Unilocal to narrow down the list provided by my insurance. I tried Smiles by Design and was very pleased! My daughter and I both had appointments and one of the first things I loved about them is they were able to do a cleaning and exam at our first appointment. Other dentists I have seen require an exam only for the first appointment and then you can schedule a cleaning which is very inconvenient especially when you are taking your child out of school. The hygienist I had was sooooo nice and thoroughly explained everything she was doing as well as things I could be doing better at home, it sounds weird but I actually learned some things. Lastly the dentist was very nice and thorough as well. I feel very confident in this office and plan to continue being seen here.

Best dentist experience in San Diego. Dr. J and his team are incredible. Wonderful customer service, friendly, and incredibly talented. Dr. J knows what he is doing.
After visiting another local dentist, I felt as if their diagnosis may not be accurate, not to mention the slithery creepy way they wanted to charge me. It felt like I was being taken advantage of. So I went to Dr. J. His diagnosis proved different then the first place I went to, and his fee was much more reasonable.
He proved to be correct and his accurate treatment (I needed a crown) fixed my sensitivity problem.
I have since been back twice for issues I was concerned with, he made small adjustments to my teeth for me both visits and did not even charge me for his time.
I am happy to say that I have finally found a dentist I can call my own. I will gladly be bringing my family here for many years.

Where should I start? What a wonderful experience I have had with Dr. J. from beginning to the end. I decided to come in for my annual check, and I knew that there was things need to be done. Here is the list of things I got done with my 3 visits to this wonderful office. 1. Deep cleaning all four quadrants — I was in shock when I saw how white my teeth and how clean my gums were after this deep cleaning, even my wife was impressed. The procedure was harmless and I felt very comfortable from start to finish. 2. Crown and Filling on my top right tooth– I got top of the line crown and I love it, it fits like a glove and feels 100% natural. 3. Wisdom teeth removal — I had 3 teeth left and DR J took them out like it was nobody’s business, the procedure was painless and very quick, I was very impressed. Dr J made my mouth like new again. I can now smile with confidence my teeth are white and mouth stays fresh. He even checked up on me the next day to see how I was doing.
I learned that everyday flossing is very important to the hygiene of your mouth. I also invested in a an electric tooth brush it makes 100% difference and worth every penny. I will be visiting back every 4 months for basic cleaning as recommended.

Came here based on my insurance coverage and the great reviews. Dr. Javaheri and his staff are super friendly and flexible when it comes to scheduling, questions, etc. Paris does my cleaning and she’s always very sweet and takes the time to do it right. Dr. Javaheri will let you know of any work you might need done but doesn’t push you to do it. Recommended this place to my co-​worker and she loves it too!

Dr. J is very professional and kind. And he is very fast at filling teeth! I hate dental work and he always makes me feel comfortable. He’s very chill and doesn’t pressure you into doing anything. I’ve needed many fillings and a crown over the years and Dr. J has been my favorite dentist by far. His work is exemplary and always makes sure patients are satisfied; there’s no problem coming back if my bite feels off and a tooth needs adjustment. The office staff is very friendly and helpful also. I honestly tell everyone about much I like him and recommend his office :)

We came here several times throughout 2013. While everyone was very nice, the dental work itself was below average. I had a few fillings replaced and had to come back four times to have them adjusted because of super sensitivity and discomfort from being uneven. My husband also had some fillings and had to come back several times with the same issues I had. Five months later, several of my husbands fillings came out! I’ve had fillings replaced in the past and never had the sensitivity and discomfort happen.
The last straw was when we requested to have our xrays sent to our new dentist office. We moved out of state, so have had to use another dentist. Dr. Javaharis office stated that it would cost $ 35 for each persons xrays. We paid for these xrays to be done and they are digital. It doesn’t take that long to email it over.
