I was about late July of 2014 I. Was looking for a vehicle to drive everyday for me for myself so I looked into subcompact vehicles and thought great gas mileage and versatility. I first went to the mile of cars in National City and was looking at the Scion IQ. The sales guy didn’t seem at all attentive maybe he was in a hurry to go home or something, maybe his wife was making something extremely special, whatever the case may be he didn’t really turn me on to purchase anything I was ready to leave with a vehicle that day. So I left, me and my family and went to the Smart Car Center. I went to the sales department and was greeted cordially by Josh Vanderpool, super friendly guy. We went on a test drive, he answered all my questions and got back and did paperwork, I recommend this guy, very friendly, knowledgeable and straight forward. Simply put I had a pretty good experience buying from these guys and would recommend them.

Bought a used Smart car from the Smart Center of SD recently and we were pretty satisfied with the experience. Clearly we liked the cars since we purchased one. Wish we could have gotten one of the cool new electric one but sadly we were in the market for a cheap used car instead of a new one. Lisa was our sales person and she was great, exactly who you would expect to be selling Smart cars. Since the Smart Center is at the Mercedes dealer we had to wait longer than normal for all the paperwork to be finished since I assume we kept getting pushed back so they could work with the people buying Mercedes. Luckily the waiting lounge was nice and have free bottled water and Starbucks coffees and teas. The entire showroom and service areas were very clean and new looking.

Low/​No Pressure sales here. I came in to get a Smart, I was greeted and helped by multiple employees. Traded in my Nissan and got MORE than CarMax offered. Happy all around!

I have had it with this place. Check engine light keeps coming on every 3 months or so. They charge $ 120 just to see what it is. After my first bad experience they made good by giving the next service of the same faulty part that they just replaced for free and a free car rental while it was being worked on. They obviously are doing something wrong if this keeps coming on, or just doing a quick fix, to get more money in the end. To charge someone $ 120 just to check after it was just brought in 4 months ago is ridiculous! I have never left there without paying at least $ 300 for some minor repair or maintenance. I will never by «Smart» again.

I got my car serviced today and had such a pleasurable experience. If you make your appointment early in the morning it shouldn’t take as long (I was out of there in 2 hours). Eric was the one helping me out and he was awesome and explained everything that the 20,000 mile service included.
