As the Sears home improvement business evolved, contractors licensed by Sears provided in-​home consultations and completed the improvement projects.

In 1997, Sears consolidated its home improvement efforts under the name Sears HomeCentral, which also included in-​home appliance repair and sale of replacement parts to DIYers. In 1999, Sears HomeCentral was renamed Sears Home Services.

Sears came out to give me a estimate on installing a central air conditioner and a new furnace. We signed their contract because the salesperson told us if we signed the same day he came out to give us the estimate we would save $ 1000. We signed the contract in several hours after that we canceled the contract forwarded all the appropriate paperwork to their corporate headquarters as well as the local office here in San Diego. Much to my surprise they ran through and took 14,000 and some odd dollars out of my credit card even though I had already canceled the order. I spent over four hours try ing to contact anybody at Sears to arrange for a credit for my $ 14,000. I was transferred from one department to another at a minimum of 12 different times. The only resolution that I could get satisfaction from them was to contact the credit card company involved in dispute the charge I’m told now that that process will take anywhere from 15 to 30 days to resolve. In the interim I’m out of pocket $ 14,000 to a company that will not acknowledge that they receive the money even though the credit card company has confirmed to me that they actually have received my $ 14,000, but sears will dig knowledge that they received the money. I will never do business with Sears again and urge everyone not to fall for the same trap I fell in by buying the same day the sales person came out in order to save $ 1000

My home was built is 1928 and really needed a new kitchen remodel. The field manager came out to give me a quote and was wonderful. Chris Caicedo realized my needs and budgetary requirements and worked the numbers several ways. I was really happy with the quote and he even set me up with a credit line, what a guy! I can’t wait for my new kitchen and who knows I might even cook a meal or two.
