SAN Park NTC

No reason to go here unless you are waaay late. The NTC lot, first turn-​in on McCain off Harbor is 28.00/24hr period. The same as airport on site. The ONLY benefit is you can walk to terminal 2 quickly. Although construction makes this more difficult right now. What a rip.
Before you enter any SAN lot, ready the small boards posted right before you enter, they have the rates. I saw a sign for 17.00 per day, but that is only certain lots.
I am going to try the Wally lot mentioned here on Unilocal next time. Never again, SAN.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to park here on a regular basis. The only reason I was forced to come here is because it was Thanksgiving, which meant that Wally Park was out of spots. I was in a rush, and just went to the next closest place, which happened to be here.
Cons:
— The shuttle doesn’t pick you up at your car. It comes to designated stops that you have to walk to. For me, that’s not a problem, but it may pose some issues for families with lots of luggage who don’t want to lug it around.
— Shuttle drivers act like zombies. They barely greet you when you come on, don’t smile, and don’t help you with your luggage. I think if they actually got off their asses and acted like they cared, they would be raking in tips.
— $ 13/​hr? Are you fricken kidding me? Why would anyone pay that with Wally next door? The other locations are even more expensive! I understand if you’re in a hurry and haven’t done your research, but that’s just too much for such a shitty place.
— No AAA discount. Almost all other places have it. They don’t. That blows.
Pros:
— Don’t need to call the shuttle bus when you land at 12:30 am. They just keep going around and around wasting gas.
Enough said. Avoid SAN Park if you can.

Ok for Airport parking. Pay attention, there are multiple SAN Parks, this one is good for Terminal 2, otherwise you’ll be walking for 15 minutes or longer if you are going to the commuter terminal. It is cheaper than the terminal parking ($ 16per day vs $ 24), although there is currently no Terminal two parking due to the construction/​addition at Terminal 2. (July 2011 — estimate for completion some time in 2013) I’ve usually walked to the terminal, but they do have buses.

Please do not waste your time, money, or sanity by parking at this location. As frequent travelers, my husband and I tried this parking lot for the apparent deal of $ 9 parking. On top of this not bring accurately advertised (it’s actually $ 16/​day), the wait times are ridiculous (over 20 min on average). This is not the first time we have used San Park, but it will for sure be the last, as they are consistent in nothing but disappointment.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get sucked in by the $ 9 parking for the month of May! I made this mistake on a long weekend trip this past weekend and wasted almost 1.5 total hours of my time, just to save a few bucks.
I usually park at Walley Parking (formerly Park, Shuttle & Fly) but I thought I would try something new. .. unfortunately, it came back to bite me. This was the most inefficient airport parking experience I have ever had — and I travel a lot. Here is why:
1) Most airport parking lots will have someone available at the entrance to direct you to open spots. Not SAN Park NTC. Their parking lot was so huge that I had to drive around for 8 minutes (!) trying to find an open spot, along with everyone else in the lot. 8 minutes is a long time in airport time!
2) Most airport parking shuttles have one task, and one task only — to pick up only or to drop off only. The shuttles at SAN Park NTC do both at the same time — I couldn’t believe it! It was crazy, people were running over each other trying to get off while people where trying to get on with very large bags. It took 30 minutes from the parking lot pick-​up to get to Terminal 1.
3) They do not appear to have continuous shuttle service for return pick-​up to the parking lot. After waiting 25 minutes for a return shuttle to my car, and after the other SAN Park shuttle drivers telling me that the orange shuttle comes around every 5 minutes (lies, I tell you), I had to call and request a pick up. The driver seemed like he was loopy on meds and didn’t really seem to know what was going on. And this crazy drop-​off and pick-​up on the same shuttle craziness continued. It took me 50 minutes (yes, I did say FIFTY) to get to my car when I returned from my trip from the time I stepped out of the terminal to my car.
I WILL NEVER USE SAN PARK AGAIN! Walley Park is the way to go.
