Came here for the first time on Wednesday and was not impressed at all. Food was mediocre and service was even worse. The chilaquiles were bland had no authentic flavor whatsoever, over medium eggs were cooked over easy. Will not be back.

Not pleased at all… Came out from Oceanside to eat here and the food was very bland and the service was bad. The menudo was alright but the fact that I couldn’t bring a Monster in from outside to drink while I was waiting was pretty petty. The lady was very snappy and again the food was not that great there are plenty of better places in Southern California to eat them this place.

If your in south San Diego looming for good Mexican food. Particularly breakfast. This the spot! Had the machaca Sinaloa style. Amazing! Burritos are huge! Plates are also a good size and everything about ten dollars and under.

A true authentic Mexican restaurant! Everything is delicious. Each meal comes with a mini quesadilla and the corn tortillas are delicious! I always order the menudo(red) and the flavor never fails to amaze me. The beans are delicious as well as the rice. The salsa is right the amount of spicy and you get a variety to choose from. A must must try!

Very good breakfast spot. The staff is easy going, pleasant and help you out with any silly questions you have. We got the a breakfast burrito, Machaca Ranchera with Eggs and a QuesaBirria. — The breakfast burrito was a good size, hearty and filling. It did need more beans it. My buddy had to ask for a side of beans, since there were barley any in the burrito. — The Carne Assada in my Machaca Ranchera was very tender and fell apart in my mouth. I also loved the way the potatoes were done. — The QuesaBirria is much smaller that it looks in the pictures. It is however vary tasty and greasy in a good way. I could eat a few of these. Definitely worth stopping by here for brunch or breakfast.

Got a quick bite here. My tortilla soup was perfect my husband was a bit soso about his carne asada. The waitress was really nice and the service was good. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is ok — not fancy by any means but clean.

Been coming here since 2009. Not much in the variety category to their menu but what they have is always good. It’s more of a breakfast and lunch spot. They have the basics for Mexican style breakfasts like menudo, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, etc…, and they just added birria. After all these years their service and quality has been consistent. Service for the most part is good and friendly. Gets busy on the weekends so parking on those days sucks.

Really delicious Birria! Which is very exciting because it is hard to find… Very nice little place to eat, staff is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be coming back for my taco Tuesday’s here and for Birria! Love this place definitely recommend! Menu has large variety! Brought my boyfriend for birthday brunch and he also loved it, thank you!

Outstanding breakfast spot with unusual delights such as red mole sauce. Our party of four ordered different entrees, and everyone was extremely with the quality and careful preparation of each dish. Prices are very reasonable and its a relaxing place to dine. Great service and endless good coffee make this a guaranteed repeat visit breakfast spot!

The food is good, but the prices have gone up. My husband and I were regulars but now we are thinking that the food is not worth the price. If there’s a line, you should just go somewhere else. They can’t handle a rush. If you decide to stay you must ask for the salsa San Marcos, is a pale green, and it is must!

Service was not the best. Waited a while before we were even handed menus and that’s because I asked if I could grab them. I ordered the machaca with eggs platter which comes with beans and house potatoes. After 12 you don’t get potatoes you get rice. Our food was out right away and wasnt really hot. I asked for the wet machaca and not the dry machaca and my food was dry, so I can only imagine how dry their dry machaca must be. My brother ordered the chilaquiles and they were basically chips with salsa, and didn’t taste that good. Only good thing was the Mexican hot chocolate. That’s why I gave them 3 stars.

Reading other reviews who raved about this place, my girl and I decided to check this place out. We ordered the Machaca breakfast plate for both of us. It came with refried beans and their version of home fried potatoes, a coffee and a hibiscus drink«agua de jamaica». First of all, the egg plate was average in taste and preparation. Nothing special about it. Nothing to celebrate, just an average machaca and huevo plate. The beans where kind of ghetto tasting and a bit greasy. The home fries where just boiled cubes of potatoes, finished off on the grill with oil, some what greasy. The hibiscus drink had no refill and cost $ 2.50, a little pricey for a 16 oz glass Coffee was also $ 2.50 with refills but just an average tasting cup o’ joe. They could make it a little tastier by adding a cinnamon stick to the brew. Just to be different. In total we paid close to $ 30. We would of been more satisfied by just getting a pair of breakfast burritos some where else. Just comes to show you that you can’t rely on what some people say, you just have to try it yourself.

It’s cheap, normal service, and good food. Very decent menu, they have a bit of everything, you get a free small quesadilla the moment you sit down. I love the fact that they have traditional machaca, and it’s amazing! It is very good Mexican food, with great prices and sizes.
