History

Established in 1997.

San Diego Training and Conference Center started out life as the sixth franchise of the Knowledge Development Centers network. We became an independent location in 2002 and adopted our current name. Our main original clients were SAP, Oracle, Global Knowledge and software companies now long gone or absorbed into others.

We were located at 401 B Street in the Financial District of Downtown San Diego for the first ten years of operation. We have been located adjacent to Petco Park in the Gaslamp/​East Village entertainment district since 2007.

Current training partners include Constant Contact, VMWare, sales​force​.com, ESI/​GWU, Dell, SAS, IBM/​SPSS, CommVault, Mathworks, and too many others to list.

Doug R.

Business Owner

Doug Reeves co-​founded SDTACC with a business partner Joe Drew. After the original design and construction, Joe managed the operations and technology side while Doug concentrated on sales and marketing. Doug’s wife, Linda, developed a lot of the catering and administrative functions in the early days and continues to advise and assist SDTACC in this area. Doug bought out Joe in 2000 and and continues to operate the business with the help of Kyle Berger and three part-​time staffers sharing the extended work day (7:00AM to 7:00PM). Kyle has been with SDTACC for over 5 years and has brought innovation and consistency in our classroom technology.

The company I work for has been doing business with SDTACC for years now (I think even before they moved here). The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The rates are very reasonable for a large room with computers; especially with it being in downtown and they provide a light breakfast, water, and snacks.

For an incredibly reasonable rate, Doug, Kyle, and Maria far surpassed my expectations in hospitality and friendly professionalism. I was in the uncomfortable position of angering my onsite trainer because I chose a dedicated training site over a hotel meeting space for our week-​long training session. With a can-​do attitude about every concern, change, and requirement I sent their way, the SDTACC team has been a pleasure to work with, top to bottom. They even won over my skeptical, very particular trainer (no easy feat – I don’t think she even likes me, and I’m pretty nice). Their equipment worked well, the food was great, and they met our daily layout and curriculum requirements flawlessly.
While a hotel will charge outrageous prices for everything from wireless internet to AV equipment to meals, SDTACC rolled my package into a reasonable room rental which included flip charts, wireless internet daily, projector, screen, and Ethernet cables for our online-​based examination. My daily rate at this facility for everything wouldn’t even cover the per day AV costs at some hotels. The cherry on top was that we acquired no attrition (and best of all, didn’t even have to worry about it) – the location is terrific because there are many hotels within walking distance, which meant that each participant and trainer was able to stay at the hotel of their choosing.
They were easy to contact, kept me informed when our materials arrived onsite, and adapted to the group rather than ask the group adapt to their own comfort zone.
I don’t write online reviews, ever really. But I was so impressed with this group and their facility, that I want to make sure they get the business they deserve.

I spend way too much time doing career related activites… I know this. But spending a training in a cool place with a nice audio/​video system softens the blow. Just a little.
There are a variety of rooms to suit your needs. The fanciest one (where my training was held) had 35 – 40 seats of computers connected to the main screen in front, so you could follow along on the presentation. Very nice if it needs to be interactive. All computers have internet access, which was nice when I needed to check in on other job related activites.
The best part is that this facility works with a caterer so you can have breakfast and a hot or cold lunch (or dinner) brought in. Plus, there are tons of beverage options at your disposal all day. We are talking water, tomato juice, Dad’s Root Bear, plus the usual beverage choices. We also stayed pretty late and they were graciously accepting of it.
This building is next door to Petco Park, so if you are going into the building on a game day at approx. 5:00 p.m., your inner road rage demon may spawn while trying to get into the parking garage. But once you are there, you will be happy that you are stuck there for a late night meeting or training.
