San Diego Rent a Car

I found myself stranded in O. B after getting back from a work vacation when my friends I had left my key with forgot they had my key and went to burning man but luckily the guys at Rent a Car were extremely helpful and nice and got me into a fun little Yaris right away! Car drove nicely and there were no issues refunding the deposit. Quick, easy, pain-​free fix! Thanks Ceasar, Tony, and David! Thx rent-​a-​car and thx bf for getting me the rental!

I rented a car from SD Rent a Car as a last resort due to the fact that I lost my driver’s license. SD Rent a Car was super busy when I came in, and they had just opened. However, they were still very cordial and even offered me their own personal cell phone charger for my own use. I appreciated their thoughtfulness in that aspect. However, I have to agree with the previous reviewer here that the car they gave me really sucked. It was a PT cruiser that had a passenger airbag alarm that went off whenever someone sat in the passenger seat. They did warn me that it wasn’t as nice and they couldn’t give me a good one because I didn’t have my DL to ensure my reliability, but I still think I should’ve gotten a better car. :P

I WISH I COULD GIVE NO STARS TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
Firstly, they rented us a defective car. When we picked up the car, the only person driving it was my husband, then as soon as I got in the passenger seat to go on our vacation, the airbag alarm kept going off on the passenger side. The car smelled, and had Corolla mats inside a PT Cruiser, and there were slashes (with a knife it seems) on the upholstery and on part of the glove box, the car was not presentable or in good condition.
When the alarm kept going off we kept calling the location that rented us the car CLOSED! we called the airport location CLOSED, WITH NO EMERGENCY CONTACT!!! WE WERE STUCK WITH A BAD CAR!!! Not only that but we get a call that our son was taken by ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital via ambulance for an upper GI bleed, so we rushed back down to San Diego. We were harassed and bombarded with phone calls when the rental car company found out about all the messages we left, NO we don’t want another car!!! WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!!!
I was told it would take 10 days to get our deposit back, and 10 DAYS HAVE PASSED, AGAIN I WAS PROMISED JUST LAST NIGHT THAT IT WOULD BE ON THE CARD NO LATER THAN 12AM THIS MORNING, THEY HAD THEIR CHANCE AND NOW IT’S TIME TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Unless you want to go to small claims court like me!
