Additional info: Still not any better. I couldn’t get anywhere with the office manager at the surgery center, so the office manager for my doctor tried to resolve it. They were going to mail me a check the day she spoke to surgery center(ya!) When it didnt show up two weeks later, the doctors office manager called them again. They told her they would stop payment and reissue. A month goes by and still no check. While visiting my doctor for a follow up, I spoke with his office manager again. She called and found out they never stopped payment! So if I had the original check just go ahead and cash it. Luckily it finally showed up(with the post mark proving it wasnt mailed on time) so I finally got my money back.

Appears as tho center has a high number of surgeries per day. Surgery Center literature states that doctors are owners of the center My attending Nurse, although caring and sincere, did not know what surgery I was about to receive. Nursing Manager had to tell her. Attending Nurse was also clumsy when it came to giving appropriate privacy for changing prior to surgery. Only when Nursing –OR manager suggested giving me privacy so I could relieve myself, was I given any privacy. No pre surgery meeting with the Anesthesiologist. Instead, Anesthesiologist spoke a little to me in OR. As I was trying to explain previous difficulties with Anesthesia and what drugs I would NOT want, Anesthesiologist administered drug rendering me unconscious. I did not believe our conversation was over. I woke up in the recovery room to find out I had been given a drug I did NOT want. I experienced some nausea and dizziness for nearly 24 hours after my surgery even though the anesthesiologist spoke of administering anti nausea medication. In spite of drinking two to three liters of water a day after surgery, and also non caffeinated beverages(Gatorade, decaf green tea) and taking a couple of stool softeners a day, I did not have a bowel movement for three days after the surgery. I did NOT take any pain relievers after surgery that are known to cause constipation either. When I finally felt a bowel movement, it was severely impacted and was extremely difficult to pass. I have never had that type of problem with my bowels before. I believe the cause was the anesthesia that I requested NOT to have. It took my stomach and gut another 24 hours to finally settle down. Finally, I learned later that the anesthesiologist that I had is also an administrator of the Center, which leads me to believe that this type of treatment could be very typical. In comparison to other outpatient surgeries I have received thru this medical group at other locations, I would not like to return to this place.

The San Diego Outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center is a medical center specifically built and designed specifically for outpatient surgery. First opening it’s doors in September of 1974, the facility is located on the ground floor of Park North Medical Center-a three story medical office building at the corner of Washington Street and Eighth Avenue in San Diego, California. There are four operating rooms, six recovery beds and a great staff of doctors and medical personnel here. I have had a outpatient procedure that most people dread the thought of, but the Surgical Center made it as pleasant as could be expected. Their care is topnotch. Recovery rooms are comfortable and they can wheel you right outside to the curb in a wheelchair or down to the parking garage, if necessary, when it’s time to ambulatory out. Located right alongside the eucalyptus-tree-ed entrance to Freeway 163 South, The San Diego Outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center offers great medical care in a convenient facility with excellent staff.
