San Diego Jewish Academy

This is a terrific private school in San Diego. They take infants through 12^th grade. Academic standards are high, and the facility sure seems secure. I wish I could have gone there when I was a kid.

My child has been enrolled at Beit Yeladim for some time now and I felt I had to write this review to keep everyone who is thinking of enrolling their child here updated on changes from the past two positive reviews. Lately it seems as though the center has gone through numerous changes and I have to say so far it does not seem to be working for me. I have been absolutely happy with leaving my child here because safety has not been compromised. My child’s teachers and caretakers are still very attentive. However, there is now a new director (Miss Edelstein) that seems very lost, unorganized, and unprepared to do her job correctly. She does not care as much about the kids and parents but more about «showing off» that she is bringing in new aspects to the center. I have to say that I have heard similar comments from other fellow parents at the school so I don’t think my review should be taken lightly. I believe it is important to incorporate new activities to my child’s school day but I am more concerned that teachers are confused or not informed when the new director decides to change policies in the classrooms. This to me shows that the director is not doing her job. It is also difficult to accept all these new issues from the new director when the old director was so much more consistent and concerned with the children rather than the logistics of the classroom. Other than the concerns I have listed above I also feel that the director has not tried to connect with me in any way. I was never even informed by the school that a new director was coming into the program and I feel that everything was handled very poorly. So far, nothing has changed for the better. Overall, very unorganized, not personable, showing off rather than putting the children first, and misinformation are just a few of the words I would use to describe the new director. I am staying at the Beit Yeldadim program as long as I see the caregivers of my child giving the good effort they do to ensuring safety of my child regardless of the new situation they are being put into.

Pretty good school. I like most of the teachers there, but some are not all that good. Unfortunately there is no varsity volleyball team for guys, which was something I enjoy, and hoped they would have.
