Established over 20 years ago in San Diego, San Diego Craftsman Construction specializes in high quality residential remodeling and major renovations/additions. What sets us apart is the personal attention given to each project by the owner, an SDSU graduate and a highly experienced, hands-on California licensed general contractor. An example of our recent work appeared in San Diego Magazine. Another project was featured in a published San Diego Union article written by a journalist-homeowner who chronicled her experience living through a whole house reconstruction project.
History
Established in 1987.
The owner grew up curious about how things worked and how they were made. He was always mechanically and technically gifted and was the kid who disassembled the toaster, waffle iron, door locks, etc. then would put them back together — and they worked. The business started in early 1987 after the owner had completed a 4 year college degree in communications, attended graduate school, and worked in the education/communications field. Something was missing in his life. He quit his steady job after 7 years in a well paying position at the University of California.
Because he had worked his way through college as an electrician, a carpenter and more, those skills came in handy when he launched a new business as a «cultured» handyman in 1987. Business expanded quickly and a California contractors license was issued to the business in 1988.

Very happy running this business. 25+ years of construction trades experience and over 20 years as a business owner. B.A. degree from SDSU, as well as having completed graduate coursework in Education. Worked in the trades to help pay for college and grad school. Started the business slowly and deliberately in order to get it right. Business has always been built on high quality work done by a team of very competent, experienced and dependable tradespeople who I hand pick and manage for each project. Referrals and satisfied return clients are my best and most effective advertising.
