San Diego Cardiac was born over 5 years ago in San Diego, Ca.

We are a certified Training Site through the American Heart Association. We currently have 9 offices in Southern California. 6 of our offices are located throughout San Diego and 3 of our offices are located in Orange County. We offer basic, advanced Medical & first responder training for non healthcare professionals through the American Heart Association. We also sell AED’s & Medical Devices nation wide.

My name is Tyler Kowalski & I am the Founder /​CEO of San Diego Cardiac. I grew up in the Gorgeous city of San Diego. I am the son of San Diego Chargers Gary Kowalski who played starting offensive tackle from1985−1990.

I have always been involved in sports, charities & Philanthropy. I am really passionate about things that make a positive, beautiful impression on people, society & mother earth. I have lots of family, friends and colleagues that are in the medical field. It is very rewarding knowing San Diego Cardiac is making a difference in the world teaching people how to save lives. I am very proud to say indirectly through the thousands of people we train every year, we’re saving a countless number of lives.

I have to give this company a well deserved five start review. I found their site on the web and it provided clear, concise information about First Aid/​CPR/​AED AHA approved certification. I contacted them by phone and they were terrific at answering all my questions. I have done refreshers online, but they are often not approved by employers and there is no substitute for the hands on training. They were very fexible with their schedule. The Camino del Rio location was a bit hard to find through my GPS, but once I arrived the location provided an outstanding training environment. The Instructor was terrific, not boring at all. He was fexible, but covered all possible areas in a fun, easy way. The training tools/​material were oustanding. CPR Certification is serious business, but the training does not have to be a drag. San Diego Cardiac is the answer.

So, I got a job that requires me to have CPR, AED, First Aid certification. I went to the AHA website and came across this team through them. I reserved a spot, and as promised by the AHA they provided a prompt response. They also offered to get me in sooner which I appreciated. I am a lay person (I’m a MSW/​AWS/​mental health clinician), so I knew a few things coming, but not enough to really do anything. Also, let’s be honest, for some people it’s scary thinking about hurting a person (ie cracking a rib) while saving a person. I can say I feel thousand times better now when it comes to doing what needs to be done. Tyler was great at keeping in touch with me by phone, Taylor was great at getting me comfortable with basics, and Brad was awesome at support, testing your knowledge, and really getting you comfortable with emergency situations. The guys are knowledgable, patient, very encouraging, and efficient. Brad, Tyler, and Taylor are all athletes; they know a lot about those types of emergencies/​circumstances as well. I also was the only woman there for a while and I felt safe with these men. They also have real life experience saving those in the community with the topics and skills they teach. In the culture I come from, it’s taught you save one life you save the world. They are certainly doing that. Oh, sorry to get all social worker, but they have great resources for the CPR, AED, and First Aid information :).

I work at Scripps in La Jolla and needed to get my BLS card re-​certified by Monday or I couldn’t go back to work. I called around to a few companies and finally I talked to Tyler at San Diego Cardiac. He explained he did have classes Sunday available and I could get my same day card I needed if I paid in advance. I took the class Sunday August 23rd in Mission Valley and it was a convenient location and the Instructor did a good job testing our knowledge and keeping the 3 of us total that showed up to class engaged in the curriculum. One person in the group wanted to ask a lot of questions and the instructor was very patient and thorough. I got my card after class as promised and this being the 4th time taking this class I would say this has been my best experience and I would recommend this company. Thank You guys for taking care of me last minute!

If I could give zero stars I would. I signed up for a BLS class in El Cajon. When I arrived at the location 270 E Douglas Ave., El Cajon, I found no listing for San Diego Cardiac. The receptionist and building manager informed me that this business does not exist at this site. It is advertised on the website at this location. This has apparently happened several times to other people. They told me that they have reported him to the AHA for false advertising and fraudulent business practices. I paid about double the normal cost in an effort to complete the class quickly. It seemed convenient. I called and left a voice mail with Tyler and am waiting for a response. I have filed a claim with paypal for a refund.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Signed up for BLS skills session and 20min before the scheduled class I received a text that the enrollment was too low and my class was cancelled…20min notice!!! That was frustrating. Signed up to take the course this week and 15min before class, when I’m literally waiting outside the building, class gets cancelled. When I call the instructor, Tyler, he informs me it’s their policy that a class has to have at least 2 people, which I understand, but the lack of notice and respect for my time is infuriating. Then he informs me they aren’t even required to give advance notice of cancellation and could cancel a class with good attendance on the spot. Horrible customer service. I’m a nurse and I absolutely will NOT use this company or recommend it to any of my coworkers.

Class was great!!! I needed to get this class done en a hurry, looked on line and found San Diego Cardiac, was able to take the BLS class on the same week that I started looking. In class the instructor was on time and very detail when teaching proper skills. I am very happy with the training and will return for re-​certification when I need it. Do not hesitate contact San Diego Cardiac to make your appointment.
UPDate: I had problems with my mail and after getting the cold shoulder from the Post Office I spoke with Tyler about my situation. Tyler was very understanding and was able to work with me to replace my BLS Certification card. Now more then ever I recommend using their services.

Class was fine and instructor average but I applied/​paid for a replacement card over a month ago after my original was lost during a cross country move. Still haven’t received the new card after they claimed to have mailed it twice. Really poor communication and unprofessional center.
