Kudos to Saffron! Look, you only get so good in an airport and I think Saffron delivers above and beyond! I’m currently eating a healthy egg scramble with broccoli and mushrooms with red rice on the side. Healthy food is hard to find in airports and I’ve found it! For lunch I choose their salad rolls or soups… Both so delish!

What an incredible restaurant for an airport. The shrimp dirty rice was as good as any in town. Rarely do you find this quality of food in an airport.

I absolutely love Thai food. I generally judge a restaurant on their pad thai as that is my go to Thai dish. I ordered the chicken pad thai at Saffron and was very disappointed. There was almost as much tofu as chicken and I personally don’t care much for tofu. Unfortunately the chicken was very bland and had no flavor so I actually enjoyed the tofu more and ended up throwing the chicken away. The pad thai itself did not have much flavor and had absolutely no spice. It was definitely not worth the money. The person I was traveling with ordered the drunken noodles and was also disappointed. The noodles were fairly bland and had almost no spice. Also the portion was quite small. I did order a soft drink with my meal and they allowed me to get refills which was nice. The employees were friendly.

Ridiculously salty and this is coming from someone who loves salty food. I had the spicy stir fried chicken and whoever cooked it(let’s not call him a chef) probably got carried away with the soya sauce and what not. Was in a rush and didn’t have time to ask for a remake. Wouldn’t go back again at all.

For airport food this place is not too bad for Thai. Would I eat here if it was my local restaurant? Maybe in a pinch, but when you are in a captive location finding a place like this is a pleasant surprise. I had the yellow curry which I could recommend.

I wish I could have given 5 starts but there is nothing wrong in this place. They have a good collection of Thai food in their menu but if you want to mix and match, the staff is flexible to do so. I like the staff too. Very friendly with a big smile.

5 stars for having a healthy lunch/dinner option and for offering gluten free soy sauce alternatives. The ingredients used are high quality, and they have a variety of options. I’m not at an airport looking for top cuisine, I’m looking for good, reliable, fast, and healthy if at all possible! I’ll save my fried, carb loaded, fatty meals for restaurants on my to go to list ;) Loved my meal and will keep coming back here! Good vegetarian options too! Awesome selection of beer and wine ;)

Like typical airports the dining options are limited but I was surprised to see a Thai food place in the renovated Terminal 2. The menu seemed like a slimmed down version of a regular Thai place having mostly fried rice, pad thai, pad see ew, etc. I had both the dirty rice with chicken and the pad see ew with chicken. Both of which I found to be a little lacking in flavor. They both had hints of saltiness but not much else. Which was a shame because they actually didn’t do a bad job of cooking the actual noodles/rice and chicken. Well, with the exception of the spot of white steamed rice which wasn’t mixed in.

Spicy beef was bland and tasteless. No heat at all. Beef was overcooked and chewy. I fly through thid airport a few times a month, do yourself a favor and get Qdoba or Panda express

I wanted to eat something with rice and I saw this Thai place. This place looks good. The food was ok for an airport standard. Not the greatest Thai place though . If you are craving for Thai and u are in airport not a bad place. They have Thai and Chinese beer. Ordering was easy and fast. The guy at the counter was courteous.

What is to like about airport food? Not that much but for a few exceptions come to mind. For a quick, fresh option when in San Diego Terminal 2 Check out Saffron for some spicy stir fry. I ordered the veggie shrimp with red rice and it did not disappoint. The flavor was decent, spicy and fresh and was healthier option to another place in the terminal. It doesn’t deserve a four star rating but it does deserve consideration.

Really disappointing, especially since the original Saffron is held in high regard in San Diego. Got the«Thai» breakfast egg scramble but there was nothing Thai about it. A few really bland scrambled eggs tossed with equally bland mushrooms and broccoli. Had to douse with my own blend of sriracha, soy and pepper and even that didn’t save it much. Only ate it because I had already spent $ 10 on it and kept hoping it would taste better eventually so I would have to be down on the Saffron name but alas, it did not.

I was pleasantly surprised by the healthy options offered here, though it’s not by any stretch as good as the better Thai places on the West coast. I had the spicy chicken vegetable stir fry. The plate was half chicken veggies and half red rice(add 80 cents for red rice). The vegetables were all fresh. The chicken was all white meat. The sauce was salty, slightly sweet, and mildly spicy, at least to me. It has strong lemongrass flavors. It was decent, though I might get the regular version next time, which has sesame oil per the clerk. There was also a ton of rice on my plate. If it’s going to be healthy, reduce the rice and up the vegetables. Service was fast. I walked away to get a hot tea at Peet’s and my buzzer was going off by the time I walked back. Service was also courteous, though I had to ask for a lid for my to go meal, BUT that’s not a bad thing because it results in less waste if you don’t need it. Overall, a decent option if you’re in need of a hot and healthy meal.

Three stars as it is a decent option compared to the burger and pizza that you typically see at most airports. Decent size portion, I had the dirty rice with chicken, added vegetables, and it wasn’t bad. Surprisingly spicy given again that this is an airport food court. You can get some extra sauce options on the side if you need a little more zip.

Far from perfect, but far better than normal airport fare, Saffron gets a nice 4-star nod from this guy. Walking into the airport, I was in need of something ‘healthy’ as I had been eating burritos and TJ street tacos all week. Surely I could find a vegetable or something similar before I sat in place for 5hrs in a speeding tube. Enter Saffron’s stir fry… While I don’t think stir fry is actually ‘healthy’, it was the best option in the food court area. Tofu with veggies and red rice ran about 12 $(which is wayyy too expensive for this) and is made to order, so prepare to wait a few minutes. It came out piping hot and wasn’t half bad. Though the price tag was high, the portion was enough to fill me up. Veggies piled high, sriracha and rice on the side, this was the perfect way to get some greens and not have a gut bomb in ya before a flight. Would do it again for sure.

12.26 $ for beef Pad See Ew with your choice of sauce. The food is freshly made which is a plus… but the meat is chewy and the dish had no flavor what so ever… Dumped all the peanut sauce into the bowl for some flavor… and then im not even sure how I feel about the peanut sauce. Tasted weird… but maybe thats how it is. I’m used to Vietnamese style peanut sauce. Overall… won’t come back for the price and quality.

Pretty good option for tasty and relatively healthy stir fry. Had the spicy beef with red rice, a little sweet but overall quite enjoyable, especially with all the fresh veggies in there(zucchini, broccoli, basil, etc). Beef was good quality too, and great to see whole grain red rice offered.

Good healthy food option for airport food. They offer freahly made stir fry, curry chicken, noodle and fried rice dishes… even fresh shrimp spring rolls. Whether you choose the healthier«red» rice or stick to traditional Jasmine rice, you can easily semi-customize your option. They also offer complimentary sauces like sweet chili, peanutor hot siracha, fresh salsa or hot siracha. Not your usual fast food terminal food… and that’s a good thing.

Solid but nothing to write home about airport Thai food. The«healthy» chicken with veggie stirfry had a decent helping of fresh broccoli, carrots and peppers. Red rice had a nice slightly crunchy texture– great complement to the chicken and veggies. This is definitely something you can eat without hating yourself for. But for the price, I expected more — more veggie variety, more quantity, more something. Location in Sunset Cove is great though– definitely opt to eat here, especially if it’s almost sunset.
