I hit this by mistake and Unilocal is forcing me to write a new review.

Worst Rubios in San Diego! It seems the fast food sucks up here in Rancho Bernardo! Service is terrible! They have forgotten items and over charged!!! The lady Leslie at the cashier does not look or seem happy to serve the customers and I have asked her many times to put the spicy sauces on the side in which she forgets and one time even forgot my drink! My office has ordered a huge lunch for our end of month luncheon and the food was not fresh, when I arrived it had been sitting there when we opened the food it looked as if it has been thrown in the containers and was cold!!! I will not return to this Rubios ever again! Thank you,

Great service and great food. Love the fish tacos. Señor Ruiz(manager) took great care of our party, giving us personalized and friendly service. I will definitely be coming back here. Thanks for a great experience!

This is by far the best Rubios location I have been to. The manager was very nice and accommodating. The food is always consistent. I will be back!

This review is of the incompetent cashier on duty tonight. I placed a take-out order for four meals. When I arrived I indicated that I was picking up my take-out order and gave my name. She took my money and I went and sat and waited. They were fairly busy with take-out orders and several walk-ins. I was browsing on my phone, passing the time and I saw the woman who was there before me pick up her take-out order. I waited a few more minutes and went and inquired about my food. The manager happened to be at the front counter and asked what I ordered. She found my take-out order sitting behind the counter. I asked the cashier how long it had been sitting there and she replied«At least 10 minutes». WTF! I told her that I had been sitting there waiting the entire time, didn’t she notice that I paid her and was waiting for the order? She just stared at me, open-mouthed, like she wasn’t comprehending what had happened. The manager scolded her telling her that she needed to make sure that people got their food. Her excuse: «There wasn’t a name on it and I didn’t know who it was for.» The manager offered to remake the order but I had already wasted at least 15 minutes there and people at home were waiting for dinner. When I got the food home(5 min. drive), it was completely cold and required 90 minutes in the microwave to get to eating temperature. I believe that the food was actually sitting there before I arrived, and I waited at least 15 minutes. Completely incompetent! BTW, I’ve eaten here for lunch several times and had no problems.

Sign up for their FREE email club and you get a free meal on your birthday week. Come in on Tuesdays after 230pm to get $ 1.50 fish tacos. If I had to complain about something, it would be their parking lot which is tight and can be hard to get in and out of, if busy.

I was introduced to and have been eating at Rubios since 1986. Unfortunately I think it’s time for me to stop. While it’s understandable that the menu would change and evolve over the years, the latest iteration just isn’t terribly inspired or inspiring. I usually come to this location after going to the gym since it’s on my way back to the office. Unfortunately, the food just isn’t very good. I don’t fault their execution of the menu. Of course they still have fish tacos, but most of the burritos are filled with rice, a cheap and tasteless filler. With so many other choices in this category, it just isn’t worth visiting Rubio’s anymore. Whatever they serve, I can find better elsewhere.

Freindly. Not the cleanest Rubio I have been to. Floors had spilled food and trash. Trash cans were over flowing. Only 8 customers in store no one at counter someone could have been cleaning. Salsa bar had spilled salsa everywhere. Food was good though. I ordered the two taco plate(original Fish Tacos). My wife order Two Taco plate Original Chicken Tacos with rice instead of beans. I do not think we have ever seen just plain white rice at Rubio before but that is what she got. Maybe had lime juice added to it. I know this is right before closing but not somewhere I would stop again with other choices arround. I wanted to give it two stars my wife however said three… after all it is Rubios.

I really like this particular rubios. The people that work here are all really nice and the service is very fast. The food is a little pricier for the size of the meals but it’s still tasty. The upgrades they have made to their store are a nice touches they use real plates instead of baskets makes it feel homier.

Good, fast and fresh I would agree with. Keeping in mind that it’s a semi fast food restaurant, the quality is awesome and the service is very friendly. Can’t go wrong here.

Meh kind of food… Had much better tacos in other places. Got the mahi mahi and shrimp tacos and definitely shrimp was better.

This place is really slow compared to other Rubios. 25 min for one quesadilla and one bean burrito. Carmel mountain is 3 times faster.

I used to love Rubio’s… I do not understand why they switched all of the cheese to mozzarella. My two favorite items on the menu were the quesadilla and the nachos… neither of which are even good anymore because it’s just not right with mozzarella! I still like the gourmet steak tacos, but Rubio’s has taken a big step backwards…

So good, fast, fresh. …and the people are super polite and nice. I always get the California bowl with chicken, and they allow substitutions. No rice, extra lettuce, sauce on the side. And I love the salsa bar! I add tons of extra salsa and make it super spicy! Very nice that they serve beer too. For fast food, this rocks.

I Have always been a fan of Rubios due to their variety that they offer. This particular location has always been a lunch favorite. Service here is quick and friendly. They do their best to make sure you have a good dining experience. They do get quite busy during lunch time but they handle it well as they get you your food quickly. You can dine in or to-go your food. Taco Tuesdays here is good. I always get the fish tacos as they are bomb with lime! Their burritos are good. Customer service here is good! They know how to run a restaurant and how to deal with customers. Its evident with lunch rush here, they serve everyone in a timely manner. They’ve had a recent remodel/refresh to this location and it looks great. This is a good place for a quick lunch or a to-go lunch. Try their fish Taco’s, they are good! If you are feeling adventurous, try their fish BURRITO! its big for the price. The prices here are also very good, you get a good amount for what you are paying. Everything is fresh and you can tell that the ingredients they use are also very fresh. If you are ever in the area stop on by and grab a bite to eat for lunch/dinner.

The service here is extremely slow, I could see my food sitting on the counter for about 15 mins before I got it

Pita is the manager. She is welcoming and understanding of my vegetarian modifications. I wish Rubios had a vegetarian menu. But for now I modify and I appreciate people like Pita who put on a smile and make my experience better.

Rubios always seems like a good idea because there’s so many delicious options! My favorite– a two taco plate, one grilled gourmet shrimp and one grilled gourmet steak. It comes with chips and beans. Love the green and brown sales the most. Kaila and Abby are always super friendly and I love running into them upon coming to this location.

Rubio’s got even better now, with the fresh new clean look, modern furniture, updated logo and of course updated menu! First of all, now if you order to dine in, your order will come on a plate with real(not plastic) utensils. That’s already a step up from any fast food restaurant. They always introduce new fresh menu items like shrimp enchiladas plate or chipotle citrus salad with grilled talapia. Most of the items of the menu are grill and not fried.
