I text for an appt. and Romeo got back to me right away(see tip below, it’s true– I even text late the night before.) We agreed on a 4:30 appt. the next day. We were on time, greeted and he was with us within 5 min. We agreed on a cut, showed him pictures(my son wanted a change and I usually cut his hair but wanted him to see a professional Barber.) Romeo gave him exactly what we asked for(no heavy fade or hard line up/no cut into his hairline too far back etc). It looked exactly like the picture(Trevor Jackson?) $ 15 is a great deal, he spent a long time and as a hairstylist I always learn a lot.

Hands down the best barber I’ve had. The line ups are always tight and on point and the cut is perfect. I live in escondido and I’ll drive down to get cut by him. Highly recommend!

I moved to San Diego from Sacramento in the summer of 2012. While I was very much excited about the new transition, I was not excited about having to find a new barber again. It was definitely a struggle. I lived in Del Mar, so it made it even more difficult to find a place where I could get a haircut worth all the money I paid for mediocre haircuts by mediocre barbers with a lack of experience, knowledge and overall customer service. My search continued well into Fall 2012, when I began grad school and working in San Diego(as opposed to suburban Del Mar/Solano Beach). I tried a few more places and they knew how to give a basic, fundamental haircut, but it just wasn’t «sharp» enough. When you get out of the barber chair after a fresh haircut, right after the barber wipes the hair off your face and sprays your hair with sheen, you’re supposed to experience some form of new found invincibility. A euphoria, if you will. You’re supposed to feel like you can get any job, run any business and pull any chick in the room. These places I tried did not provide me with this feeling… Little did I know, I would be reminded of how it felt very soon. After a few months, I called Level One and asked if anyone there could cut hair. Someone on the phone hooked me up with a guy named Romeo, whom they said would take good care of me. I went in the shop, already skeptical due to all of the failed experiences in the past few months. I met Romeo when I entered and prepared for another haircut that was going to be «just okay.» I was very wrong… Romeo was clearly a professional… An expert at his craft. He provided me with the best taper chinstrap combo I had ever received! He used an assortment of barber tools(clippers, scissors, etc) that I had never seen before. He also used a hot towel to prevent razor bumps/infections and used an «air hose» to maximize removing the excess hair on my head from the haircut(I don’t know the scientific name for it, but you find them in wood shops. They use them to blow fallen wood chips into an area to be swept up later. Similar to a leaf blower). He dapped me up and sent me on my way within an hour! I continued to go back just to see if he «just wanted another customer» or if he would continue to give high quality cuts. Romeo has continued to give prolific service every time I have gone in. And he just doesn’t do fades or tapers! Ask him to show you the pictures of his work on other heads. They’re awesome! If you’re looking for a barber for whatever reason you may have, Romeo is that guy! He’s a perfectionist so even if you think what your haircut is fine the way it is and you’re on your way out the door and he sees even the SLIGHTEST thing that can be improved, he won’t let you out the door until he fixes it. Do yourself a favor and come find Romeo!

I’ve finally found a professional and consistent barber in San Diego. Romeo skills are unquestioned and he can serve a versatile clientele. He always keeps appointments on time and has been willing to open up early for me on multiple occasions. All I can say is I hope he never moves

Shout out to Romeo! He’s a total professional. My son and I have been coming to him for the past several years. Being a woman, the barber shop isn’t my favorite place. He’s got the corner spot so I feel very comfortable when I’m there. He’s always smiling and just gives off genuine positive energy. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been in San Diego 24 years, have visited almost every top rated blk shop. Romeo is the cleanest, most professional and talented I’ve ran across; his customer service has that east coast attention detail style(hot towel, hair oils, crisp razor edges, cool sanitizing spray) not shown by most west coast trained. The shop is always clean, on time with appointments and his cuts are consistently on point(not one bad day). If you’re tired bouncing fm shop to shop or want a consistent professional cut, Romeo is who you need to see. — Mack

Romeo is the best barber in San Diego. I have been going to Romeo for quite some time and he does a great job every time. He is very professional and provides each client with the time need to get an excellent haircut. I can either call or text and he always gets me the desired results I’m looking for in a barber and haircut. Trust me when I say he is by far the best in San Diego.

Romeo has been cutting my hair for 2 years now. Tried 3 other barbers until I found him. He always does a solid fade and never disappoints. My search for a S.D. barber is done.

I’m originally from Sacramento and my brothers a barber and has been cutting my hair for over 12 years. One of my big concerns with moving to San Diego was trying to find a barber that would be as good as my brother. I went to about 5 different barbers and finally came across Romeo and haven’t changed barbers ever since. Romeo is all about consistent cuts, great conversation and quality. I definitely recommend him, I have been getting cut by him for the past 2 years and as long as he’s a barber, I ain’t changing.
