Why can’t we live closer!!! This place was so so so good! Love the guacamole sauce and the chicken is oh so tender! Even my picky kids loved it! Will definitely make this our go to hot spot when we visit San Diego.

I dream of these burritos every time I’m stuck in AZ. No one makes them the same as these guys. Eat here all time time when I’m in town. California burrito is my favorite. Although I’ve had everything on the menu.

The shop should be named“Burrito” shop. The tacos are lack luster. The burritos, on the other hand are great! Wish they had more beer selection and better condiments. For a taco shop in SD, they need improvement.

Stopped by for a quick meal one day after going to the gun range. The food was prepared very quickly and the service was good. I ordered a carne Asada and a California burrito. The food was good. Nothing great, just standard SoCal quality burritos.

All people who gave this place a 5 star review must have been wasted coming into here. Homeless guy singing and smoking inside, flies buzzing around like its part of the theme of this place, soda nozzles covered in insects and looks like its coated in year old syrup. Soda tasted like sewer water with carbination and cornsyrup. Salsa bar coved in flies… «Would you like maggots with your tacos?» Hygiene Rating 0⁄10 Diarrhea, an inevitably… You’ve been warned.

Hot sauce on my burrito baybaa! I’ve tried different things on the menu an haven’t found anything I didn’t like. They are quick an always friendly. They have a salsa bar with carrots an chiles güeros that are always good with Mexican food. Prices isn’t unreasonable so I keep coming back.

Worst mex place I have seen in a while. Not to mention no napkins, no tolet paper, no paper towels.

Amazing! On our way home from a conference in SD, we found Roberto’s on a Unilocal and decided to have lunch. All four of us traveling together were impressed with the food, salsa, and homemade chips!!! We each had a different type of burrito: breakfast, chicken, bean & cheese, & classic. Tortillas were homemade, food served hot, and prices were reasonable. The restaurant itself is small with a few tables inside. Defiantly a grab and go kind of place. Roberto’s has a drive-thru & is open 24⁄7!

My son and I eat here at least 2 times a week. We are never disappointed. The food is great. The ingredients are fresh and the food is always made to order. The breakfast burritos are our fave but you cannot go wrong with their generous shrimp bowls and Cali burrito!!!

Not really a place to sit and eat at. We get food here once in a while when in the area. We usually go through the drive thru. Food here is pretty good. I had chile relleno for the first time from here, and i became a fan. Otherwise I usually get meat burritos either pollo or carne asada and I think it’s comparable to any decent San Diego spot. They also have deals on their tacos on Tuesdays of course.

Best Mexican food in the area! Always fast service! Amazing tasting and low prices. Much better than the near Santana’s Mex food which personally I feel they(Santana’s) nickel and dime for every ingredient on your food. Thank you Roberto’s for being amazing :)

One of those Mexican food places that is always open and in abundance across SD and SoCali if you know where to find them. If you’ve lived in the SoCali area for a bit I’m sure you’ve been to some variation of this establishment for some late night booze food or for done quick cheap goodness that is sure to hit the spot! Carne asada fries are always a magical thing to get in these parts piled hot and fresh with just enough thick flavorful guacamole sour cream Scrumptiousness to share with your friend! Oh and don’t forget the red sauce it’s one of the best parts to any Mexican meal! Enjoy and if you must don’t hesitate to hit up the drive-thru as well because you know you don’t wanna get out of the car and have to endure all the people inside who weren’t there when we visited!

This is the Second time I have shown up at 5:40am to buy breakfast burritos for work and they have told me the grill is turned off. First off they claim to sell 24 hours a day. Second how are they serving hot food with out the grill turned on. The person on the headset was rude and didnt’t seem to care. I wonder if the owner cares he is paying his employee to turn away business. I will not return. All and all they lost two orders of 10 burritos each time. Not good business

Love this place. I’ve eaten at this Roberto’s at least 10 times over the years, even though I live in Connecticut. My parents bring me here whenever I fly in or out of the San Diego airport, and the rolled tacos are always crunchy — not too greasy, either, with a nice amount of guacamole and cheese that I tend to douse in the red-orange taco sauce freely available in the salsa bar. My dad and brother each get the carne asada plate and leave stuffed. Prices are relatively cheap. Sure, the taco shop is next to a convenience store and sometimes there’s a brisk chill inside. But the comfort food wins out and service is quick.

Roberto’s is one of the most famous taco chains in San Diego. Open late, not too busy, nice, fast service and great prices. Salsa bar, which is always a plus. Still, just not a fan. I have tried several of their locations now, just because they seem to always pop up where ever I am in SD, but nothing has ever stood out as needing to have again. I have had the tacos and burritos, tried all of their meats and none are that stellar. Nothing bad, just not worth going out of the way for.

Becomes Definitive. That’s what happens to a brand name that just gets the job done. Period. You become a verb or a noun as something synonymous with the original object or action. When you make a copy, you Xerox something. When you blow your nose, you need a Kleenex. When you pour hot coffee to take to the office, you look for a Thermos. And we all know what we do when we use an internet search engine… Such is Roberto’s. The original taco shop chain in the SD. «Hey, let’s go get some Roberto’s!» Maybe even as far as «Roberto me!» Yes, many shops have come onto the scene since decades past, and many shops have stuck an ‘ertos on the back end of any ol’ name at all to try and cash in on the cache of our old amigo Robert. Imitation is the truest form of flattery. But often imitated, never duplicated is the refrain here, as there is only one true Roberto’s chain in town, and this branch is one of them. Today, the Calif Surf & Turf was on the palate. The burro is big and strong, on flavor and freshness. The meat and shrimp compliment each other quite nicely. The shrimp adds a bite of spice and taste of the sea where not usually expected. The french fries are cut small, which is the way they should be in a burro, and not burnt. The tortilla is tasty, crispy and soft, the way it’s ‘sposed be. The salsa bar was a bit behind on selection today, but you can tell the 3 salsas and one faux quac sauce are made fresh and kept fresh here proper on ice. The place is clean and relatively spacious. They need to have some music on to add to it, and drown out the banter of the staff working. There are some resident homeless nearby, that seek contributions to their liquid lunch fund at the nearby liquor store, but no one was seeking any change today. Next time you want to go Mexican, just say, «Let’s go Roberto’s», and get a taste of what local take out legends are made of.
