We have been part of the «dental family» with RB Dental Excellence since Dr. Lozano started his practice in Rancho Bernardo. His attention to detail and quality of care have always been key factors in our ongoing treatment over the years.
As a long-​term patient with RB Dental Excellence, the care and concern to support my dental health continues to be outstanding. The use of technology to enhance their diagnostic and treatment functionality keeps them «out in front» in providing the very best care available.

My family and I became patients of Dr. Lozano when we moved to the area in December 2013. We have found his staff friendly, hygenists skileed and his dental service to be excellent.

Had a great experience here. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I had not been to the dentist since 2008. Being in the military for 9 years the only dentist I was seeing was on base. I was worried I was going to have to get deep cleanings or worse filing. My appointment was for 1pm, I had already filled out the paperwork online and brought with me. I arrived about 12:50 and was greeted by the front office staff. They where very welcoming and offered me a cup of water. I waited about 5 minutes and then the hygienist called me back. If I recall correctly her name was Sharon. She introduced herself, took some x-​ray and was very good about explaining each step of the visit as she went. Sharon did a great job on my cleaning and to my surprise said my teeth looked good. It was about 1:45 when she finished and called the Dr in for an exam. He was very gentle and thorough. Dr. Lozano said my teeth looked great, asked if I was interested in replacing my amalgam filling with a white composite filling. I unfortunately declined at the time due to no insurance and low income. I will defiantly be back once I can and replace the filling. All white fillings look so much better than a bunch of metal in your mouth. I asked about Veneer and how the process worked. The office manager Wendy and Dr. Lozano explained to me the exact process and about how much it would cost. I am eager to start the process over the next couple years.
Before I left the assistants gave me a quick tour of the office and showed me the Cerec machine. I guess now they can make crowns in the office same day. I must say pretty cool !
I would recommended coming here as my visit was great. The whole staff made me feel comfortable and I was in and out on time.

I have been seeing Dr. Lozano for about 2 Years now. I got my husband to go to him which getting him to the dentist can be tricky. We both have had really great experiences. The hygienists are friendly and professional and the office staff good. I asked them about a fluoride treatment and the gal who cleaned my teeth said she wouldn’t recommend it (and it was expensive for what it was). I pressed her a little and she said she and her family use a fluoride toothpaste at night. She certainly didn’t push any product or service on me. Dr. Lozano has always explained anything he does. He’s really kind and friendly.

There’s a reason for that! We couldn’t imagine going to another dentist. Even after our move 10 years ago, he still remains our dentist and is worth the extra mileage!
Plus our smiles have never looked better!

Dr. Lozano is amazing! Our whole family goes to him, including our 9yr old boy and 5yr old girl. His hygienist Sharon does the best cleaning – zero pain! When I had the worst toothache ever, Dr. Lozano saw me immediatly and got rid of the pain. His front desk manager Wendy, is so sweet and helpful at keeping us all on track to healthy, clean white teeth. 5 years ago I even had Dr. Lozano do my veneers and they are absolutely GORGEOUS! No problems at all! You cannot go wrong with him!

I’ve actually had very positive experiences while under Dr. Lozano’s care. I find him to be extremely knowledgeable and love that he has the most up-​to-​date equipment to help diagnose and treat. He makes suggestions as to what he thinks should be done to prevent problems in the future but leaves the decision-​making entirely up to you.
I must also compliment Sharon, his hygienest. She is gentle, thorough and genuinely committed to doing the best job possible.

Dr. Lozano is a GREAT dentist. First off the Amazing staff! They were very welcoming as well as extremely friendly from the second I walked in the door. I was a little nervous and they made me feel so comfortable with my teeth cleaning as well as the impressions that they took for my night guards. Dr. Lozano, he is a very confident doctor in what he does, he is gentle and makes you feel at ease. He was very knowledgable at explaining the procedures that were to be performed in detail.
I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lozano as a dentist. I will be going back!

Was referred to Dr. Lozano by a customer of mine that is a periodontist. After telling the periodontist of the problems with my past dentist of always recommending whatever my insurance would pay for, whether it was needed or not, and completely missing cavities on my son’s teeth but recommending other work for him.
I have had a lot of dental work done in the past, including root canals, wisdom teeth pulled, crowns, fillings, etc. So with that as a reference point, Dr. Lozano is as good as it gets. He is young enough to be up on the latest techniques and technology, old enough to have lots of experience. He has never pushed or recommended services that arent needed. He told me I have some fillings that are old (which they are), but as long as there is no decay and nothing is bothering me, they’re fine. That right there tells me he is honest. My other dentist insisted on seeing me every 3 months; Dr Lozano says every 6 months is fine.
He is very personable, and concerned about his patients. My wife is very difficult to deal with, and he can handle her. My kids love going to him.
He is a very capable and honest dentist, and I recommend him to my friends.

Dr. Lozano and his staff are so friendly. First time that I went to a dentist and wasn’t trying to charge for a whole bunch of unnecessary things. I felt so comfortable and I really enjoyed the fact since I hate the sound of the drills they let me put on some headphones to try to relax my nerves… I also like the fact that the work that I needed he gave me options and didn’t just try to give me the most expensive opition…

Fine for basic cleanings and fillings, Dr. Lozano is a really nice guy. Unfortunately in dental and medical situations «nice» really should mean absolutely nothing. I have seen many many dentists since we have lived in six different states in the last 10 years so I have plenty to compare him to.
He did TWO different root canals on me, which took THREE tries on each one before finally he sent me to an endodontist to fix it. Luckily I am not a fan of dentists doing root canals because they usually SUCK (a mixture of skill and tools) and just love the extra income, so I told him that I would like to have an endodontist do the root canal. UNLUCKILY for me, I am also CHEAP so I gave into his speech about «I’ll pay for an endodontist to do fix it if it turns out bad». Well they BOTH turned out bad! I admit I was really stupid to let him do it twice. Cost me lots of pain, time, and anguish. Arghhhh! I’m sticking my mother’s good wisdom: Don’t let dentists to root canals!

It’s official — worst dental office yet. The last straw? Being charged $ 25 to «copy my records» for my new dentist.
Moved to SD last year and found Dr. Lozano via an internet search. I was coming to him having had excellent dental care for the previous five years but I lowered my expectations so as not to be too disappointed. I guess I just can’t lower them enough.
I have sensitive teeth and the first hygienist really hurt me, despite my request to «go easy» on me. Tried a second hygienist six months later and expressed my issue with sensitive gums and she offered to put some topical anesthetic on them — great idea, but then she started to talk down to me and belittle my sensitivity.
Dr. Lozano himself was fairly quick in examining my teeth but immediately came to the conclusion that I needed my crowns replaced. They trotted me right into an office to write up a quote for the work. I said no thank you. Received a snippy message on my machine a couple of months later asking why I hadn’t scheduled the work. Ummm… that would be because I said no thank you.
