Preface: This is my first negative review EVER!~
We called Rick to «INQUIRE» about refinancing a 26 year loan. Instead he ran our credit without permission. We now have 3 inquiries instead of the 1 he originally said he ran. These two unauthorized credit inquires cannot be removed and have lowered our credit score. Our credit report states that they will be listed until July 2017. What Rick did was unfair and devious!
Rick said, at first, that a 26 year could be done. We DID NOT approve anything at this point and were only talking. We received paperwork that stated a 30 year loan. Again, we DID NOT approve this loan. When we called Rick and asked him why he was sending loan paperwork with a 30 year loan, he said that’s all that he could get for us. We asked him when he was going to tell us about the 30 year loan. He forgot? I guess he thought that we wouldn’t find out until it was too late. We called his «employer» Phil, the owner, at Home Plus (Rick is a 1099 Independent Contractor for Home Plus). When we explained the situation to Phil, he said, «What do you want me to do, fire him?» Wow! Can you believe he said that? We don’t want anyone fired. We want the unauthorized inquiry off our credit report! We contacted Rick to cancel anything and everything with him. Rick emailed back again, after not taking no for answer and he said that he made a mistake and he could generate a 26 year loan. It was too little, too late!
Beware! He is very unethical.

I totally agree with the other review here for Rick. I’ve gone through a couple of VA refi’s before but this one was as smooth as it could get. From the start, Rick provided me with refinance information that helped me make the easy decision to refi in the situation that my family was in.
I have to give a big thanks to him because if I had waited any longer, I probably would not of gotten that good of a deal… I’m pretty sure of it. I was actually up front with him also and told him that I was inquiring about refi’ing with the bank and another agent… but he continued to provide me with accurate information. I really felt comfortable with my decision to go with him and now he has saved my family some money in the long run. Very knowledgeable guy that will explain situations very clearly plus the other folks I was dealing with, didn’t give me that great of a deal. He couldn’t be beat plus his customer service up until now is excellent. It’s been over a month since the refi process completed but he is still following up to ensure that everything is ok.
I don’t write many reviews for folks but Rick and his team deserve it! You have to consider him if you’re thinking about refi’ing or buying a home.

Last Fall we did a VA Refinance through Rick. This was not our first adventure down this path, but I must say it was the most seamless and painless loan experience we’ve ever had.
Rick, was there every step of the way. We’re up in the Sacramento area, and most of our communication was via e-​mail. Rick was very responsive to our queries, and was always there for us. I bought my first home 37 years ago, and Rick is the only orignator who has ever followed up with me after the loan closed.
We will most definitely seek out his services the next time we want to buy or refinance.

Rick was a major asset in my complicated home mortgage refinance. I appreciated his professionalism and was impressed by his responsiveness. I knew my loan refinance was going to be a struggle and that the person handling it would have to be ready to get in there and fight. Rick really came through for me and I would happily recommend him to friends and family.
