Ricardo’s Massage and Bodywork

I have been going to Ricardo for years and he is the best. I have injuries from auto accidents and from working out at the gym and from dancing. and every time I need a fix. Ricardo comes to the rescue. I had recommended Ricardo to all my friends and they all agree with me… I only go to Ricardo and no one else foe my massages

I get regular massages and I have to say this was the best massage I’ve had in years! Ricardo knows so much about the body, muscles, skin, everything really. I was so impressed and already booked my next session. Outstanding!

Best ever! This isn’t a lah-​tee-​dah foo foo massage, so be warned. Ricardo works to give you both relaxation while addressing any issues you might have through bodywork. And sometimes it is surprising when a particular area is stressed and becomes a focus area. Ricardo knows what he is doing and is committed to the overall health of his clients. Matter of fact, I was dealing with some stress issues, typically held in my neck and shoulders, and Ricardo recognized the extra focus needed and went waaaay over the massage time… just to make sure the stressed area was properly addressed! Well worth a visit, especially if you are into working out and athletic — he just gets it.

I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had from Ricardo. I have been searching for a massage place in San Diego and have tried about 5 different places in San Diego (Happy head and foot, natural athletic performance spa, Chiropractic Massage, and a few more), but none were great enough for me to return until my massage with Ricardo. I found him on Unilocal and thought I’d give him a try, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve only received 2 other massages of his caliber, but one was in New Mexico (I live in California) and the other was at the spa at The Montage (which cost over $ 100 for 30minutes and was a gift).
Firstly, he is extremely friendly, easy to communicate with, and makes you feel really comfortable. Great customer service. And of course the massage was amazing. I got a one-​hour deep tissue and was in heaven. He clearly is in tune with the human body and could simply feel where my body needed extra work without me even telling him. He applies the perfect amount of pressure, when it was just to the point of too hard, a knot would be release and he would ease up. It was relaxing and therapeutic, and I felt like a new person afterwards. I can’t put it any other way than that it was simply amazing.
I told my boyfriend to see him and he booked his appointment 5 days later and agreed that it was amazing. We have both already recommended Ricardo to multiple friends and family members. I have already bought a package deal as well. I cannot recommend Ricardo enough if you want to relax, relieve pain, reduce tension, feel re-​energized, or simply feel good.

I want to start out by saying I have been getting massages once a month for the past year. I like who I go to but she’s up north and it’s just not convenient for me to get up there. So I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a good massage therapist closer to where I live. Then I saw Ricardo’s offer on Unilocal and thought why not, he’s got some good reviews I’ll try him.
I had my massage this past Sunday and requested a 60 minute deep tissue. I have had a lot of massages in the past and so can say with confidence, he knows what he’s doing. He was able to release the tension in my neck and back, re-​align my hips and relax my whole body. I felt completely loose and relaxed after the massage, but wanted to wait 24 hours to see how I felt the next day before writing this review, I still feel good.
Summary: Ricardo is knowledgeable about how the body works and is honestly really good. Best yet, he offers discounts if you buy a package of massages, which I appreciate as a frequent massage goer, I am buying some this week :)

Ricardo is amazing. He knows how to work your trouble areas to provide immediate improvement. Ricardo doesn’t just treat the problem — –he treats the whole body. His massages increase your flexibility, range of motion, and circulation. They are very relaxing and he has many techniques to assist in any muscular pain from sports injurys to stress. Ricardo’s massage is as good as it gets. He is extremely intuitive to the body needs of the client and delivers a highly professional and thorough massage. I like deep-​tissue and he knows to what extent to go with the client. I have gone to Ricardo about five times and each time I come back I know he’s one of the best. The atmosphere is very comfortable and professional. The room was well heated, the table is awesome and the music is soothing and relaxing. I just purchased a holiday package well worth the money and if interested ask him about the package as I believe it ends in a few days. I highly recommend Ricardo for massage and bodywork and know the outcome will high exceed all expectations.

Ricardo is amazing. Great bodyworker. I’ve never had anyone be able to really get at my hamstrings and leg muscles and he did the trick.

I’ve experienced bodywork like Ricardo’s in the Bay Area, but didn’t find it on the East Coast, where I resorted to physical therapy. I’ve been seeing Ricardo for about 6 months, and he has given me some of the benefits of physical therapy – improved circulation, better flexibility, increased range of motion, better posture– but I also feel relaxed, energized, and encouraged. He is very professional and respectful, and his rates are reasonable. I wish I’d found him before I tried the «name» spas who gave me less expert, less pleasant, and more expensive massages.

Probably the best massage I’ve ever had. My neck and upper back, chronically bad problem areas, haven’t felt this good in… I can’t even remember!

I been seeing Ricardo for the past several years, when he worked for more commercial setting here in Hillcrest. I have to say he’s one of the best ever I have had and I myself did massage therapy for 10 yrs. He has a natural sense of what the issues are and is able to do wonders with his healing abilities. I would recommend Richardo to my family and friends since, he is the best around. He’s prices are very reasonable and he’s very flexible with his hours. Don’t miss out, he’s one of kind.

Our family just spent 10 days in San Diego and Ricardo came regularly to work on all of us: from grandmother, parents and all siblings. My grandmother can turn her head full from side to side now, my mom feels lighter, stronger and more energetic. And I am sitting straighter with my shoulders pushed back. Plus… each massage was a relaxing, enjoyable experience.
If you’re looking for deep massage and body work, this is your man. He is an incredible, intuitive healer with a kind, gentle spirit. I wish I lived in San Diego just so I could get regular massage work with Ricardo.

I have had massages from various therapists over the years, and Ricardo is the best massage therapist I know! As simple as that!
I injured my feet and my neck earlier this year, and having massages from Ricardo has been an instrumental part of the healing process. He is extremely knowledgeable of the body mechanic and trained in a variety of styles. He is extremely good at identifying the source of the problem and working at fixing it.
I could go on and on about the great location, the music selection during the massage, how nice and talented he is, but I’ll leave it at that, he is the best and you won’t regret it!

I can’t believe I waited such a long time to post this review, I really owe it to Ricardo to have put this up a long time ago.
I went to Ricardo a month or so ago, on the recommendation from a friend who is a massage fanatic due to problems with his back. This was my first massage so I was apprehensive about the whole thing, but from the moment I walked in the dwell sanctuary Ricardo made the entire experience a comfortable and enjoyable one!
Ricardo gave me a small tour of the sanctuary, and then spent just a few minutes talking to me about what I was looking for (deep tissue, lower back, ect). He even asked what kind of music I preferred (I decided to stick with what he was playing, because it was soothing and I was after all looking for the full experience of a massage. Once he started on my back, I lost track of time.. .. .
I swear he set the clock ahead when I wasn’t looking, because that hour flew by, but when I checked my phone, it was indeed an hour, haha! And what an hour it was. .. . I walked out of there feeling high (not that i would know about that), and completely relaxed and at ease.
I truly didn’t believe my lower back would feel so good, I don’t have problems with it, but it is ALWAYS tight and sore sometimes, but after my full body massage, it felt great!
Oh, and let’s not forget, you have an opportunity to sit and relax afterwards with a glass of lemon water.
I WILL be back — and I can’t wait! I may have found a new addiction

I have been a long time client of Ricardo’s from the days when he was at The Knot Stop in Hillcrest. Since opening his new practice, inside Dwell Sanctuary, I have continued as a long term customer of 5+ years.
I have been a massage junkie for years now and this is seriously the best of the best as far as I am concerned… and I have had massages at some fancy schmancy spas for a lot more money that don’t even compare. The pricing is reasonable, the space is private and serene, good music and the bodywork is amazing.
I have a tendency of pulling muscles and pinching nerves due to poor sleeping patterns and I would rather go see Ricardo than a physician. He always manages to get to the source of the problem and the pain/​tension relief is almost immediate every time. Based on the services I have received, he is incredibly knowledgeable at what he does, is very well trained in a wide array of massage styles. It also helps he is trained in Pilates and martial arts so he has a vast understanding of how muscles work and how easily they can become injured. Truth be told I have always walked out of there a happy camper, relaxed and relieved. This one is not a lotion rubber… this is serious bodywork for people who use massage as a form of therapy more than just a way to relax.
I cannot speak highly of or recommend him enough. Life changing massage work for sure.
