Amazing finds for the patient person who wants to pick through it all! Amazing! Big thanks so to the people who helped me luv everything out to my car!

This place calls my name… and when I am having weak moments, I answer the call and stop by to see just how much stuff will fit in my car.
Today’s visit, I ended up with a shelf that has shutter doors. It needs an overhaul to remove the paint on it. However, once done it will prefectly match the shutters that I bought last month that will be turned into another DIY shelving unit set.
I also managed to get a metal filing cabinet at a seriously good price and a fraction of the cost of a brand new one. Better yet, Restore has a delivery service for a fee. On the not so good note, the delivery service is based on when they are picking up donations in your area. Resulting in chance of a slow delivery. But hey… it is a delivery of items that would not fit into my car.
I also came home with another end table that I am going to repaint and touch up.
There are simply too many neat things in here. I did pass on the cool patio set that looked almost brand new. And the wooden desk that I was 99.9% sure that I could have found a use for.
Did I mention this place has a constant turnover in goods?! You never know what you may find.

This store is great for somebody looking to do a small remodel project. They have all kinds of great remnants from other projects. The staff are helpful too.

I’m trying to be healthier and I thought it’d be a great idea to walk here one day. I had been here before but didn’t own my house yet so I was just browsing, this time it was dangerous!
I was walking through pretty quickly but this huge area rug jumped out in front of me. Funky and fun, I knew the girl would hate it so I had to buy it! I had seen some the same size go for 300 to 400 dollars but they had it there for 129 baby.
Momma got her self a new rug! The staff there was kind enough to hold it till I came back after work, they even folded it and loaded it into Leo. The staff there is so helpful and nice that I just want to hang out with them.
I wanted to spend all day there but unfortunately I was limited on time. I don’t dare go there unless I’m in a truck. Trying to haul big things in Leo doesn’t work well for me, yes I’m that stupid girl… I’ll be back with tons of ideas and needing materials to make them work!

This is really a review for women build San Diego
I decided I wanted to volunteer and saw the women build week. I invited my friends early on and they were all flakey so I decided to go solo and sign up.
What am easy process– I signed up and set up a fundraising page in less than 30 minutes.
As flakey as my friends are… They came through with support in funds.
I stopped by the offices to pick up my t-​shirt and get last minute details.
Class act! What am amazing organization
The ease of everything so far and the excitement they help build is contagious.

We were just at this place. a friend of ours got some cool things at the one in escondido so we decided to go. this is our second time going. We didnt buy anything the first time so we decieded to go back. My wife has some projects she wanted to work on. We got there and i felt like i was in a retail shop. i was told 3 dollars for a palet last time now they are 5. i was told we dont have alot so they were more.. umm ok then. things were not marked until we wanted to buy them and she put crazy prices on them. She said we were giving to good of a deal on things so our boss makes us look them up now. Ok i thought that was the idea around second hand stuff. Just poor attitude along with no direction. Im sorry but i would think Habitat For Humanity would be to help those less fortunate not try to make the most money. I think they have there morals back word. But we wont be going back.

I love this place. Whenever I have a house project I always stop by here for unique items before I go anywhere else. The prices are great and the money you spend goes to a great cause so it’s a win/​win situation!

Great place to find whatever you need for your place. Windows, paint, door handles, cheap used tools, light bulbs, you name it. Also, you can donate anything you rip out of your place that is still useable.

This place is great for what it is! It is «RE-​Cycled» and some new items.
For those of you complaining, it is NOT Home Depot nor Lowes.
Recycled means just that.
This place is great for us low income folk“s who do not have big $$ to spend on
rehabbing.
The only thing I was disappointed about, was that my initial visit was over 40 minutes, regarding «bathroom» paint from their «Amazon» line.
I had told Jim and the lady that I did NOT want FLAT paint for my bathroom. So they sold me flat paint saying that «Flat» was the pigment… not the finish. So I bought it.
After calling Amazon, they said indeed it was flat… as described on the front.
I then called Rick at the Re-​store and he was very kind and remedied the situation. He found me some semi-​gloss, which I will go trade tomorrow.

I would have given 4 stars, had I received what I initially asked for.
I will also say that given my initial experience, that I would not ask the help, for any «advice». As mentioned, this is not Home Depot. You kinda need to know what it is your doing.
I will go again!
Other than that, it is a «Re-​Store»

This place is GREAT! it is like the Goodwill of Lowe’s or Home Depot of thrift shops… and of course supports a great cause…
* DO bring your tape measure to measure items that you want to purchase; i.e. screen doors, windows etc. but make sure you have your measured requirements written down before hand and with you.
* DO shop around online for pricing at Home Depot or Loews before you make your purchase here to make sure you are getting the best possible deal.
* I wouldn’t recommend buying tile here if you need a large amount, they did not seem to have large amounts of one type, for small jobs it is fine.
My only qualm is it is very hard to find prices for things, so I guess you just have to ask… This place is awesome!

Please note their hours are actually 9am-​6pm Tues-​Sat. Don’t make the same mistake I did (thanks to Unilocal) and go at 6:05pm. Other than that, the store is great– it’s like a treasure hunt so you never know wheat you’ll find. Definitely make a trip here when doing home improvements or construction– way cheaper than the big box stores.

Great place to find odds and ends for a home project. You never know what is there before you go, so if you have plenty of time ahead before you do a project you’ll save some $ by making a couple of trips on different days. It is a lot like going to any of the charitable store fronts.
Appliances, tile, flooring, furniture, windows, doors, spas, lighting. Right now they have chef coats as well.
Bring tape measure, extra pair of hands and be prepared to wait in line a little while for check-​out.

6 stars. Actually 6.5…equal to the amount of dollars I’ve spent here all the while buying about 4 truckloads of stuff. This place is dyno… you are greeted by a wall of toilets as you walk in the side of the building… and if you’re not looking for a low water 5 gallon flush Kohler, don’t be discouraged. Get inside.
From here you find an extensive selection of doors, windows, flooring and tiles. If you have any semblance of contracting ability, you should love this… and even if you don’t, love it too. It’s donated (I think), it’s piecemeal and you may have to go a few times before you find something you like. But go… and go… and go again.
Around the corner are appliances and cabinets, ceiling fans and lights, and the oddest choices of knick-​knacks you probably need for your pad… you just don’t know it yet. You can even find weird stuff like dog doors, furniture, tools and window coverings if you’re willing to get a little dirty and play in the hantavirus.
Awesome place… go early and go during the week… weekends are busy and the parking lot (I mean parking private drive) gets packed. Then go to MacGregors after and celebrate your new $ 14 wood floor and $ 8 tiled driveway.

I finally decided to check this place out since I was on my way to Lowe’s to pick up a few things. This is NOT what I thought it was nor is it as described on here.
See that pic of the all of the appliances lined up and a lot of space? Trust me, it isn’t anything like that now. They had some pretty beat up appliances in a corner and not very many at that. I saw a few stray tiles and some grout, a bunch of junk in bins, and a whole lot of doors and windows that were salvaged and looked like it. Beat up vanities, rusted sinks, some toilets, and butt ugly light fixtures ripped from homes that were obviously going to be demolished. Then I see some furniture and the sofas looked OK for $ 75, but the wood furniture was a mess. I am sure a thrift store wouldn’t sell that junk. I’m not being sarcastic either. I’m being honest. Most of the stuff isn’t marked with a price tag so I assume it’s a guessing game at the register.
Good luck with the driveway parking lot situation also. Me? I’m disappointed and will stick with Lowe’s, Dixieline, and Home Depot. If I wanted junk, I’d watch the pick-​up trucks as they entered the city dump. I’ve seen better stuff thrown away. This was a gigantic waste of time.

We were at a shop across the street, so we popped over here one Saturday to check it out.
The parking lot definitely gets full. They had an employee directing cars; it’s at the top of a steep slope and a narrow driveway, so if one truck is coming down and another is coming up, it will def be trouble.
Anyway, they have tons of stuff here for your home. $ 25 sinks. $ 20 toilets (not sure I’d want a used toilet. Just. No.) Cabinets. Doors. Windows.
They even offer a granite service which seemed reasonably priced, to me, but I don’t go around pricing granite.
They also sell tile. If you’re doing a mosaic project, you would be happy at their bargain bin tiles, where they’re like 50 cents apiece.

Amazing hidden gem. We are remodeling our house on a budget, and this is my go to place when we need random windows or marble tiles.
This place is best for: random granite pieces (think countertops, ect), marble tiles of all sizes and colors, file cabinets, kitchen cabinets, light fixtures, chandeliers, windows of unique sizes, plastic socket covers, PERGO wood flooring (huuuge discount on unopened boxes, hint hint)
Not good for: dishwashers, stoves or major appliances, or antique home pieces.
Also — don’t come here expecting to find anything from a Craftsman home, such as antique wood doors with glass door knobs, or wood framed windows. If you are trying to find that sort of thing, try elsewhere (like the place in little Italy). Stuff like that generally doesn’t end up here. This place is basically the dumping ground for contractors who have too many of X and feel like donating it. Get my drift?

P. S. You can haggle the pants off most items, but keep your conscience in check — after all, this place is trying to raise money for a good cause.

Here we have another wonderful discovery, like a secret hummingbird garden or a mini-​canyon nestled between two neighborhood streets, of the kind that makes me love San Diego more every day.
I was informed about this store (ironically) by a Home Depot employee, because HD didn’t have exactly what I needed. He gave me directions (it’s located in the largely undiscovered «Mission Gorge» country), so I put on my pith helmet, and went on my way.
ReStore is a depot for donated appliances, fixtures, doors, windows, etc. that raises money for the HfH organization.
After carefully negotiating a parking spot (it’s perched precariously on the side of a hill, and there’s a single-​wide lane leading in and out), I began browsing and wandering. Eureka! I found exactly what I needed («pre-​owned», better construction, and for much cheaper than HD).
When paying, I was offered to «round up» the sale to the next dollar (the proceeds all go to HfH). Yes please!
The mostly teenaged volunteers were helpful and pleasant. I’ll definitely come here first the next DIY project I undertake!

We’ve been ReStore patrons for a couple years, but the San Diego ReStore is ten times as amazing as the Oxnard ReStore we frequented back home!
It’s huge and has tons of merchandise. The day we were in, they had most of their couches at 50% off and dozens of almost brand new office chairs for $ 20-​$ 40. We were looking for an exterior door and their selection was a little limited that particular day, but knowing ReStore, their stock changes daily so never give up on finding something there if you don’t happen to see it during one visit. It may take daily trips, but you’ll find what you’re looking for and at a great price!
The parking at this store is awkward, borderline dangerous. We managed to luck out and find a spot on top of the hill, but as we made our way back down the winding one-​lane driveway, I found myself closing my eyes, paranoid we were going to meet another car head-​on.
But everyone should make this store their first stop for home improvement items. You’ll get them at a fraction of the price of Lowe’s or Home Depot and, you know, CHARITY!

As if Habitat for Humanity is not one of the greatest groups in the whole wide world-​helping to build homes for the poor– here comes now an environmentally sustainable extension of this wonderful organization: Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
From the website: «Our 15,000 square foot warehouse is a flourishing hub of building materials, recycling and exchange. Because all the materials in the ReStore have been donated by local contractors, manufacturers and individuals, we can sell our merchandise to the public at 30−75% below the lowest retail price.»
This is the place to go when you are looking for supplies to do a frugal remodel. I accompanied my brother here-​he was looking for a specific type of flooring to redo his kitchen floor. All proceeds from the store’s sales directly fund the construction of more Habitat homes and helps to further the Habitat for Humanity mission of eliminating substandard housing in San Diego County.“Homeowners and investment property owners alike can acquire quality, one-​of-​a-​kind building materials at a fraction of the cost,” says the website. In fact, ReStore is the ultimate in recycling!
When contractors and construction crews are done with a job, they’re left with unused materials which are thrown away because there’s no place to store them. Shameful wasting of perfectly good products! This is where the ReStore comes in-​they help keep reusable goods in circulation, and out of our landfills.
Jimmy Carter may not have been our best President but the man is a living Saint for all the work and promotion he has down for Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore is a worthy endeavor and has some fantastic deals for contractors and re-​modelers looking for inexpensive supplies and who desire to build «sustainably.» Easy to find in Mission Valley– just east of Qualcomm Stadium. 5 Unilocal STARS for RESTORING with ReStore!
