I am not reviewing the clinical skill of Robert Wesley Buechel, D.C., owner of Renew Integrative Health Center, but on his Unprofessional Conduct as per the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Regulation: 317. Unprofessional Conduct — (k) The commission of any act involving moral turpitude, dishonesty, or corruption, whether the act is committed in the course of the individual’s activities as a license holder, or otherwise;
This is a warning to other patients:
While I was a patient of Robert Wesley Buechel, D.C., he approached me for a loan to move and improve his business. We signed and notarized a promissory note. He still has not paid me back for the loan even after three court appearances. At the Judgment Debtor Exam, Robert Wesley Buechel stated under oath and in front of the judge that he would start to pay me $ 100.00 per month and increase the payments when he can. The Judgment Debtor Exam was on June 06, 2015. I still have not received any payments.
Again, if Robert Wesley Buechel, D.C., approaches you while you are a patient of his to loan him money, please be forewarned.

When I came in to see Dr Buechel I had a lot of pain in my shoulder, my back, my neck and my toe… yes, my right big toe which is the source of my balance literally and figuratively was so painful to move that I simply stopped trying to bend it! As a result my whole life was in a state of imbalance, well that is my opinion. Although the adjustments did not heal everything instantaneously, I have no more pain at all at this time. I saw him 2 times a week till I was moved to 1 time a week, and now I just see him once or twice a month. My life may tip a bit from side to side now and then but, returns to balance much more easily. I truly believe that the improvements in my life are a result of Dr. Buechels’ adjustments because I was so out of whack and tired when I came to him and now I am able to move forward in life without pain! Thank You Dr. Buechel.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Buechel’s for many years now and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do my adjustments! Not only is he an expert chiropractor, he is also extremely knowledgeable about both holistic and conventional medicine which truly provides an integrative approach to each patient’s individualized treatment. His massage therapists are always very professional and skilled so I know I will be in good hands when I come in for my appointments. He also offers Vitamin B injections which boost your immunity, increase metabolism, and improve your overall health. I get one on every visit and my energy level has increased dramatically!
I am someone who is looking at chiropractic care long term so having a doctor I can trust is very important. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Dr. B and I would recommend Renew Integrative Health Center to anyone that is looking for excellent care in the San Diego area.

My first time here seemed great. I was referred by a mutual friend and Dr. B told me to just pay $ 20.00 cash. I should have realized then that was odd. But whatever I got adjusted and left.
When I first walked in (my second visit) and sat down the receptionist started to tell me I should «get better insurance» because I have a high deductible. (Weird and rude) She continued on and on and was being so rude so I asked her if she had some sort of problem with me and she said YES! I had no idea why or what I did. I got up and just left. I was so mortified.
Dr B called me to come back and he apologized for how the receptionist acted saying «she has a lot going on right now» which in my opinion is a terrible excuse to be that rude to a client. He offered to still adjust me and I said no thank you because I just wanted to leave and get on with my day.
A few months later I get a phone call from them that I owe them $ 80.00. Out of no where! I had never even received a bill. I asked how I possibly owe money when he had offered me a FREE service? He said I must be mistaken because he doesn’t do that.
The whole thing was so frustrating and by far the most unprofessional business I’ve ever stepped into.
I would never refer this place to anyone.

I just had a massage the other day but unfortunately didn’t catch her name.
I called asking when the soonest I could get in if I purchased a groupon. Rob got me in the next day at a time good for me. Big plus.
I didn’t fill out any paperwork which I found odd. But right after I signed in I got taken back. The room was quiet but a bit warm especially when I started getting worked over.
The masseuse did talk through the whole thing but it worked for me. She kept me comfortable telling her exactly what I needed. I tend to wait to get a massage when I have my entire back in knots so it was painful, but with her talking me through it I kept breathing and amazingly got all the knots out. Afterwards she actually gave me some exercises to even my hips which were misaligned and how to relieve some tension in my neck and shoulders.
Overall I felt like it was a friend getting the knots out and made me feel great.

Dr. B is a great chiropractor. Give him a try and you won’t be disappointed.

This morning I had an 80 minute massage with Roberta who was fantastic. Her massage «hit» all my painful muscles which she «worked» til they surrendered to her strong will and strong hands. i was tense and stressed before I went in and came out relaxed and rejuvenated.
I made another appointment for next week. She is great!

the staff at RENEW are absolutely very helpful. they are very professional from the front of the house to the back of the house. most especially when i tweaked my back DR B adjusted my back until my back healed. His massage therepist was excellent as well as his acupunturist. i have never had done an acupuncturist and that was my first time. they are absolutely amaizng and defintely will recommend him to anyone in LA JOLLA. very affordable and works within your budget.

I was visiting San Diego (I live in Boston) and decided to get a massage, found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try.
I saw Jennifer V. (There are 2 Jennifers) When I got there, I got to go lay in a cozy room on a heated bed with a pillow under my head and knees and take in all the aromatherapy. That part alone was amazing and smart because not only are you NOT sitting in a waiting room, but you also get the most out of your massage as your muscles are already warmed up when you get in the actual massage room. I have worked in spas for years and have seen many massage therapists, and I have to say… she was top 2 for sure. We talked all the way through (although any massage therapist will gladly remain quiet if you just say you want to relax and not talk, [im a talker]) and while chatting, she also recommended some stretches and different ways to help with certain issues I have with my shoulders. Needless to say, I floated out of there that night…
Seems like there are great deals on Unilocal for this place, just make sure you tip on the full-​price! Not the reduced price you’re lucky enough they’re offering you. ;)

As an update to this review, I wanted to share with everyone that the owner of the spa recently contacted me. She apologized for my experience and advised me that due to a serious illness, she has not been working at the spa. In addition, she mentioned that she fired the people responsible for the poor service. I wish them the best.

Green Tea, good olé fashion back pop n’, Abhyanga massage, warm beds to lye on– that was my experience with Dr B at Integrative Wellness Center in Pacific Beach San Diego California. He is professional, caring, and on time. The adjustments are awesome and and I always leave feeling like a new person.

Great teacher with very clear instruction and physical correction.

We love coming to Renew for a variety of reasons. Dr. B is great, and all of the massages have been amazing. I also would recommend the acupuncture with Lisa — it was a very relaxing experience.

I tried to use my Groupon to Renew Integrative Health Center. When I called, I tried for three different days (during the week) to make an appointment for a massage. Finally, I asked why I was having so much trouble making an appointment. I was told they would only allow one Groupon per day. That is ridiculous. I expected the scheduler to be a bit more accommodating, and that Groupon customers to be treated a little better. If Renew Integrative Health Center is trying to increase their customer base by using Groupon, it backfired with me. I would never go there again with or without a Groupon.

This is a followup to my comments on Renew Integrative after reading her comments. I deeply resent Stacie, who identified herself as the owner, using my comments as a free opportunity to advertise her very poor business here on Unilocal.
After I wrote my review, she bothered me at home and tried to get me to write a retraction. Imagine!
This was my response to her. «After I wrote my review, I happened to go back and read other reviews. It seems this is a pattern with you. You haven’t taken care of this situation when it came up before. I think before you bother us with wanting to make it right that you need to make it right. You certainly had a sufficient number of Groupon complaints on Unilocal.Start paying attention to what we are saying. Please don’t contact me again»
She wanted to know who the employee was who told me only one Groupon customer could be scheduled each day. I guess the employee wasn’t supposed to share this information with customers.
This morning I see she has further carried this on by basically calling me a liar. I could never recommend this business to anyone.

Got 2 Groupons for myself and my girlfriend. Scheduled the appointment for massage only on a weekend because acupuncture is only available M-​F and we both work. Her massage therapist did not provide the entire hour and she said her massage was «ok» but Mine was the worst massage I’ve ever had. I walked out feeling worse than when I walked in. The massage therapist was pregnant, could not focus, had to leave the room at one point because she became overheated and did not provide the full hour massage. I won’t be going back for the acupuncture simply out of self preservation instinct.

Addendum, I’ll give my review a bump for such courteous and fast customer service. Offered to comp 2 side by side massages with their best therapists.
Thanks but I think I’ll stick to the smaller providers who can keep a closer eye on quality rather than try to be «fit In» to a very booked up schedule at a large center such as this one. Just my own personal preference.

I have been going to see Dr. Buechel for at least 9 years, maybe more. he has been incredibly helpful. He always looks at the «whole picture» concerning my health and is truly concerned about me feeling better. He has treated me through the birth of a child and through a car accident, so he really offers a full array of services.
I live in downtown, so going to PB is a little out of the way, but worth it everytime that I go there!
I also use the massage services at Renew and I have never been disappointed. You really should check out Renew, it offers a lot of services all in one place and the practicioners are wonderful!

My husband and I went to Renew to get acupuncture and a massage, I am 30 weeks pregnant and Alyssa did my massage, she was wonderful. She is fully trained to give massages to pregnant women. I was very relaxed and all the pregnancy aches went away. I ended up having to drive home because my husband was so relaxed and calm. It is rare to see my husband so stress free. We went there because we had a Groupon, but we are hooked. Everyone is very nice and it was a comfortable environment. A++++

Oh wow, I am so relaxed. I just got home from getting an amazing massage. My shoulders, my whole body feels so damn relaxed… Okay, I said relaxed already. I don’t even think I’m gonna make it through finishing this. But I really wanted to update this place since I had a totally different masseuse. Lindsay and I said our goodbyes awhile ago.
I originally had my appointment scheduled with someone else but I had gotten my dates mixed up. Sarah was kind enough to reschedule me and the only one available one was Alyssa. Like fate, I was meant to be with her. She knew exactly where my stress knots were, when to put pressure and when to ease up. I am now floating on air.
There’s more I want to write but even my fingers are like silly putty. My face is like silly putty… yeah, she massaged my face. My ears are like silly putty… yes, she pulled on my ear loobs. I got up in a daze and barely able to walk… my thighs, my legs, my feet were like silly putty. I… am silly putty.
Wow, that was one good massage.

After years and years jumping from one medical office to the next, Renew is the breath of fresh air I have been looking for! I have suffered with lower back pain for 8 years and have gone to a variety of specialists all over San Diego including physical therapists, chiropractors and acupuncturists. Every doctor had their individual opinion and rarely agreed with other doctors I had seen. I found this process extremely frustrating, not to mention a huge waste of energy, time and money.
I learned about Renew through Dr. Robert Buechel (best chiropractor I have ever worked with!). My entire family actually started working with him when he had his own practice also in PB. When Renew opened up, naturally we followed him. This was the best move we ever made!
With Renew, their holistic approach simply makes sense. I no longer have to hop around the city trying to alleviate my pain. I love the team aspect of the center. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and honest. Overall, Renew is the best medicine you could ask for! The wide range of services they offer make it the perfect one stop shop. I only wish a place like this existed 8 years ago.

pros… great place, well just cause it has one of my favorite acupuncturists, Jonathan Dodds LAc. Went here for a treatment and i can say that Jon is one of the best acupuncturist in san diego. and how would i know? well cause i’m one too, and whenever i need a treatment i go see Jon. i leave my treatment feeling awesome and renewed! hahaha.
so if you need an acupuncture treatment and you in the p.b. area, come on in and give Jon a try. he can also prescribe you a personalized herbal formula as well.
cons…not much, perhaps just the nasty traffic light right at the corner, which doesn’t work all that well. oh how i waited at that light for several cycles and i just finally went, oh i felt so illegal. san diego city, please fix this light.
