Remodeling San Diego

VERY disappointed in my experience with Lior. A first impression is a lasting impression and he really blew it! I needed someone to build a dog run for me. Now in all fairness to him, when we made contact mid July, I did tell him it wasn’t urgent but I did want to get a sense of when he would be able to do it. I sent him photos of some design ideas which he said he could do and that it looked like a fun project. He gave me the time estimate of mid August. But then it was a series of trying to get him to respond to me and finally I sent him one last text on the 10^th of August thinking we were nearing the promised date but still no reply for 10 days until I finally texted him with the following note.
«Lior.we are going with another person to do our dog run. It’s unfortunate because I liked your work and had other design projects for you. I sent a text over a week ago asking when you thought you’d get out to look at it and heard nothing. I’m a very busy person and communication is important to me so I can plan my life around these projects. If you were too busy, I wish you would have let me know so I would not have waited. It seems like an odd way to treat potential customers and to run a business. It’s too bad. You seem very talented.»
This was his response:
«You are completely right! it’s not how I usually do business. Communication is very important and I understand and agree with what you are saying. Good luck with your project ! I’m sure it will turn out beautifully.
it seems like a fun job. I took note and will be better in the future.»
Though I appreciate his response, it felt very patronizing. And his lack of consideration did not go unnoticed. I have grown very tired of the lack of professionalism from contractors like Lior. I suppose it must be nice to be able to turn down work or to keep people hanging like that. Very inconsiderate.
I have recently had an experience which renewed my faith in contractors. I am having my floors redone and called chuck from Top Flooring. We talked on the phone, I met with him at his store, he came to my house and gave me a written estimate within 2 days and we have the floor installation date scheduled. This happened in a 10 day span. It is a $ 5,000.00 job. This is the what I expect from a professional.
Lior says he has had or maybe still has a business in New York. I was born and raised in New York where I spent the first 30 years of my life. New Yorkers have hustle and don’t typically respect this kind of behavior so I can’t imagine how he could be successful there with a work ethic like this.
It’s too bad because I had lots of work for Lior and have lots of friends who need work done. Word of mouth goes very far. I assume he is very talented. All he had to do was communicate and I would have been satisfied. His lack of reliability in getting back to me felt like an indication of the way he does business. So ultimately, I’m glad we never started the project with him in case he decided to flake in the middle of it.

Lior and Ernesto helped me out on an urgent water damage related repair work. The drywall and plywood platform beneath my Water Heater and A/​C needed to be replaced and that area repainted. They removed the heater and cut away the damaged parts. Put in new drywall, textured and painted it. Then put the heater back. It looks completely new as if nothing happened. The paint work matches rest of the garage. It took mostly a day. They charged me reasonably and had also explained to me any surprises that may come up during the process. Fortunately there was not any major unforeseen issues. They were on time, courteous and very much in tune with what I expected of them. I am going to be a returning customer for anything in my home! Definitely recommended!

Lior is the best handyman I’ve worked with! I needed some remodeling work done on my bathroom, and I heard of him from my friend. Not only is he good to look at but talented too. He went above and beyond what I expected! The bathroom turned out so good I called him up for another small project I needed help with, and I will be calling him again for the next project too, no matter the size. He is patient, kind, talented and a complete package when it comes to genuine home improvement needs. Thanks Lior! You really are the best in San Diego!
