This place is awesome! Sebastian is super talented. We were amazed at how he can pull off such incredible tricks 5 feet in front of your face with no props. This guys is the real deal. We like going back regularly because he brings in a well known guest magician every month to do their act so it never gets old. You have to go see this guy! Great date night.

Loved this show! My wife and I were continually gasping at each other, «HOW DID HE DO THAT???» So much fun. Forget the stigma around magic, that it’s cheesy or for kids. This show is anything but. Intelligent, inspiring, and of course, magical. Thank you Sebastian!

The amazing Sebastian! His card tricks are so elaborate and so quick I started to become dizzy. If you enjoy card tricks, you will certainly enjoy this entertainment!
Sofie kept saying, «How did he do that?». Since I’m a guy, I tried to think up all kinds of ways he could have done it; but ultimately, I don’t have a clue.
The seating is close enough to make the show «gripping». The farthest seat may be 20 feet — and the closest is about 10 feet. This is close enough to say, «No excuse!» for not catching the slight of hand.
Sebastian has been doing this for over 20 years — so his presentation is as smooth as entertaining. I enjoyed watching him handle the cards. It was not so much the tricks as the way he could handle them. If I were going to make a card shark movie, I’d want Sebastian’s hands to be moving the cards.

This was such a great date night. My husband I went to see Sebastian perform Intimate Miracles. I was surprised how small the theater was, but it ensured everyone had a great view. I still am trying to figure out how Sebastian pulled off some of his tricks. His sleight of hand is impressive, and left us wondering «how did he do that?!»
There was lots of audience interaction, and lots of laughs. Each trick was interesting, and I don’t think there was ever a dull moment. I would highly recommend checking this out. I truly think everyone was impressed. It was great to be able to bring in a glass of wine from next door. I do think this could appeal to people of all ages, though the vast majority of the audience seemed to be in the 30 – 50 age range. I can’t wait to see what other shows we can catch. Overall, a wonderful time!

We love this place! We’ve been twice and were amazed both times. This show proves that magic isn’t just for kids. This small intimate venue right next to a wine bar has an elegant and grown up feel. We tried as hard as we could to figure out the secrets to Sebastian’s tricks, but he’s too good. If you want a fun non-​traditional night out that will leave you astounded, this is it!

This guy can entertain. Great show. Up close and personal. My wife was even called up to participate, so that was awesome. It is mostly close up card tricks, but they were very entertaining and I could not figure them out. Not a lot of seating, but can see from wherever you sit. You can bring your drink in from next door wine bar. Tucked away in a quiet area just off of the street. Very fun and highly recommended.

Date night show for my husband and I last weekend. The theater is very small, seats maybe 24. We were seated in the back row, but could still see pretty well… they also use a large tv screen for close up viewing as well. Due to the small venue, there is great audience interaction from the entertainers. The tricks are almost entirely card related, so it would be nice if more of a variety was incorporated. BUT, overall we really enjoyed the experience.

Wonderful intimate venue with audience participation. Just simply amazed at the magic I saw, and it takes a lot for me to get impressed. Thank you for making my night!

My husband and I came out to San Diego for the New Year wanting to get away for the weekend. I kept searching all day long for some fun activities to do in the area. I was really wanting to do the whole wine and paint night but then decided to take a trip to Old Town Mexico. While out here, we came across a sign regarding an Intimate Magic Show. Quickly called and booked our tickets online. Best decision ever! All I’m going to say is that Sebastian is an amazing Magician. Really intimate and interactive show. Love the small stories he told throughout the night as it kept everyone engaged. Was never a dull moment. I was a participant during one of the tricks with another girl and saw everything up close and personal… And I’m still trying to figure out how he did what he did. Even got to keep my card as a souvenir. If you’re ever in town, you must get tickets to one of his shows. One of a kind magician and I can honestly say he is truly unique.

Great theater. Every seat has a close view.

Perfect for a date night out and its near some really goo restaurants.
My only issue was that there were too many card tricks and too few other slight of hands illusions.

It’s a good 90 minute show filled with magic tricks that will keep you guessing how that just happened.
We saw the initiate miracles show with Sebastian which was filled with humor, magic and awe.
It was very entertaining and a splendid experience!
I would definitely recommend this.

WOW! If you’re looking for a fun date night, this show does not disappoint. Absolutely fantastic and incredibly entertaining.
Dan and Sebastian both have great energy and really keeps the crowd engaged. We enjoyed lots of laughs and were entranced with the magic. I loved the intimate setting. There is limited seating so you can truly experience close up magic. The show was sophisticated with just the right amount of humor and lots of amazing magic. I can’t tell you how many times my jaw dropped. I kept mouthing to my boyfriend, «How did he do that!?» No doubt an amazing show. I don’t want to give anything away, but just know this is something that needs to be experienced first hand! Highly recommended!
Note: This would be a great idea for a birthday or team building event. Just be prepared to be WOWED!

As promised, I took my staff to the Red Spade Theater for our annual Holiday Party. Like anybody tasked with booking entertainment for 25 people, I was hopeful that Sebastian would be able to deliver on my guarantee of an unforgettable evening. Mere minutes in to the act, their laughter, shouts of «WHAT!» and «NO WAY!» clearly indicated that we made an excellent decision in attending the show. Sebastian invited multiple members of our group to participate in the show. At intermission, our team was buzzing with excitement, asking one another «How’d he do???» and «Did you see???»
The second half of the show provided 2 stunts that left jaws dropped open. For fear of ruining the show, I won’t detail the performance. Just know that we were left speechless and applauding.

Magic is real folks! Such a great experience here. Sebastian was absolutely amazing! The crowd we were with made the show even better with their quick wit. The show lasts for about an hour and a half, with a quick 5 min intermission. Doors open about 5 – 10 min prior to showtime. Drinks are allowed – restaurant right next to the room– and there is a restroom in the room itself. The room had 3 rows of seats. We sat in the 2^nd row (semi-​arranged seating), view was good for the most part. There was a tv if anyone didn’t see what was going on, but the magician was really good at keeping his audience’s attention making sure everyone’s was able to see. He had an opening act (Dan), a quick intro to what we were about to see and a few tricks as well. He was adorable. Jokes were on point. The magic was simply amazing, spent the night clapping and laughing and being amazed. $ 34 per ticket, was well worth it. Sebastian made it a very memorable night. Highly recommended show!

Was looking for something different and fun to do with my brother and sister for a fun night out and Sebastian definitely delivered an awe inspiring performance! Brings you back to a time as a child when you first experienced a magic trick… there’s a cute wine bar next door and you’re allowed to being drinks in to enjoy the show. Dan Thomas, a fellow magician, opened the show for Sebastian and was an unanticipated delight. I can’t wait to see this show again with my husband!

Tonight I went to see Sebastian’s «Intimate Magic Show» and was blown away! His parlor magic with cards and dice (plus more) was masterfully done and the small setting was perfect. Everyone participated in some way or another. I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to experience some childlike wonder to go see Sebastian!

After watching Penn & Teller’s «Fool Us», I searched for close-​up magic here in San Diego. Sebastian and the Red Spade Theater are everything you could want in a close-​up magic and sleight-​of-​hand show!
Incredibly entertaining, a very intimate venue (very limited seating!), and a very impressive show. Sebastian is charming, funny, and his flourishes and sleights are impressive and polished.
I hear that he has a rotating group of visiting magicians that occasionally drop by, so no two shows are exactly the same. Also, you’re encouraged to grab a glass of wine or a beer from the bar/​restaurant next door and bring it in, so this is a GREAT date venue.
Truly a gem in San Diego. Parking is a bit of a nuisance, but as expected for Old Town SD. Absolutely my strongest recommendation, and I hope Sebastian continues to amaze and wow his audiences!

No idea how it has taken me this long to write a review here! It’s been a couple of years (I believe) since I first attended one of Sebastian’s shows. I was fortunate to be front and center, right at his table, and I absolutely loved the show.
I’m a huge skeptic and I’m always looking for that fatal flaw (such a poor quality to possess as it takes the fun out of everything!) but as far as I could tell, he was flawless! He performed tricks right under my nose that still make me laugh to this day.
I’d highly recommend checking out Red Spades Theater! I hope to stop in again for a show in the future!

You’ve seen those magicians on TV wow you so go see it in person! You’re guaranteed to be amazed.

A perfect spot for a private event. The owner, Sebastian, was extremely accommodating and helpful as I booked the event for a reasonable flat rate for my 31^st birthday party.
We arrived early and enjoyed drinks at Chris’ Wine Bar which is in a private courtyard area in Old Town San Diego off the main strip on Congress Street.
The show itself is great! Part narrative, part stand-​up comdey, part magic (OK, a big part magic!) There’s a little something in there for everybody.
Sebastian’s sleight of hand mastery is incredible. In fact, one of the most impressive things was his «dead cut» where he perfect cuts a deck at exactly a precise number of cards — how the heck can a person do that?
I highly recommend folks go here for a date night, or a post-​dinner activity in Old Town. Worth the time, and certainly worth the money!
