Worst property management company I have been with.
Move in inspection was extremely sloppy.
Roof had a leak.
Chalking in shower and bathrooms old and missing.
Multiple ant infestations.
Water leak upon moving in ran up a $ 500 bill in 15 days.
AC unit did not have propellant and ran up a $ 400 bill in two weeks.
Carpets are soiled beyond repair.
RC management keeps claiming it’s not their problem.

My husband and I highly recommend Scott and the RC Realty team! They made our experience of buying our first home extremely pleasant and effortless. We never had to worry about following up with the loan officer or escrow office to ensure all of their to-​do items were getting completed on time. He gave quality advice throughout the process to help guide us in getting the best deal. He always responded to our texts and emails immediately, it was wonderful to never wait on getting answers to our many questions! He also promptly assisted us with a matter post closing, even though he was not obligated. We will definitely be using RC Realty for all of our realstate needs while in CA.

I am writing this review as a tenant and I had a positive experience.
April and Rachel were very attentive towards us if we had any questions, concerns, or anything that needed fixed. They called us back at a timely manner if and when they miss our calls and they give a straight forward answers as well. We were pretty good tenants: we weren’t needy and only called if there were big concerns and needed attention. For those negative reviews, they need to calm down. RC is a property managers and do not expect to be chamber maids. They are a business that manage properties.
Special shout out to Curtis, he fixed our problems and was very helpful.
We lived in a house that RC managed and we did not encounter any disrespect, rudeness, and felt our needs weren’t met. April was nice enough to give my baby a gift on my baby shower and it was such a nice gesture. She treated us like her friends. RC property mgmt were not intruding and they did call 24 hours in advance if they were to enter our property. On top of that, RC property was fair with our move out process that we got most of our deposit money. MOST OF IT. I admit, we didn’t clean up or patch up anything when we moved out. We broke our lease, but they helped us out by finding another tenant that would move in right away or else we will have to pay rent until we find another tenant. Bottom line: if you’re a good tenant, they will treat you right. If you’re a bad tenant, of course they will do what is in their policy and procedure to handle you.

Consider yourself warned. I’ve worked with property management companies for years and this is by far the worst. I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and advise against using them for the following reasons.
April of RC Property Managers Inc has put our safety, security and well-​being at risk multiple times while managing the condo next to ours. Owner-​occupied, we live in our unit and share a garage with our neighboring unit that is rented out, and there is a lot of turnover.
The two owners who share the garage must make joint-​decisions about the repair and maintenance of the garage door and must work out logistical and security issues. The code to open/​close the shared garage door is strictly monitored for security.
When April of RC Property Managers was hired by the owner to manage his unit, it was explained that each time a new tenant moves in, we must reprogram the garage door code and the tenant must be advised that we do not use remotes, that the keypad code may not be shared with anyone not on the lease, and that the garage door must be closed promptly so that critters stay out and our personal property stays in.
April does a poor job of screening tenant applicants and her customer service is abysmal. She is negligent to manage tenant and maintenance issues and has lied to us on numerous occasions when we needed to resolve problems. Twice she told us she could not get into the unit to make scheduled repairs and maintenance which were affecting our unit and our well-​being. Her reputation seems to be good with the contractors she hires, but that’s obviously because she is throwing business their way.
In the 15 years we’ve lived here, we’ve never seen a single roach. We began having them after the last tenant moved in. I contacted the owners for the other three units and explained the necessary treatment. But only one unit had seen roaches — the one RC manages with the new tenants which we share a garage with.
We learned a lot about roaches and how to get rid of them and asked April to have their unit treated. And even though the other two owners had never seen roaches, they treated their units as a precautionary measure. The problem was getting worse in our unit and April delayed to have their unit treatment for more than two weeks after the others. This rendered those treatments ineffective because the source of the problem had not been treated. Finally April treated the unit but then neglected the important follow up treatment two weeks later, making the lame excuse that she could not get in. April’s negligence cost 3 homeowners money unnecessarily, and the problem is worse than ever still!
My first problem with April was about two years ago with a different tenant. The tenant moved out and tried to secretly sublease it to avoid penalty charges. The tenant called RC (April) and said he lost his garage door opener and needed a new one programmed. But that was a lie because I saw him move out entirely and I knew he wanted one so he could give it to the new tenant so they would have garage/​laundry access without RC knowing.
April, without consulting with us or the owner of her unit, sent out a garage door company (Jerome of AA-​OK) to open the shared garage door. When he arrived, he could not open it so he stopped by my place and asked to be let in. When I found out why, I told him I would not allow a remote to be programmed because we use the keypad, which has been successfully used for years by tenants in the past (remotes get lost, stolen, given to others, etc).
I explained that only those on a lease will get the keypad code and I told Jerome of AA-​OK Garage Door Company to contact April with this information. I closed the garage door while he made the call an despite the facts I shared with them, he told me April said for him to program a new remote. I refused and told Jerome that the two homeowners would work out a solution. Jerome began yelling and threatened to drill out the lock! So, while he went to get his drill, I called the Police and turned on my video camera. He came back with his drill and while I was on the phone with the Police, he grabbed my arm, with drill in hand, and tried pushing and pulling me out of the way, screaming obscenities at me. When he realized I was talking to the Police, he ran away and drove off, yelling obscenities at me.
Avoid RC Property Managers Inc and April in particular, and avoid AA-​OK Garage Door Company (Jerome).

We’re just going into renting a property from RC and they have been excellent to work with. Property managers should feel confident entrusting RC with their properties. They are obviously very experienced and know what the key items are to focus in on.

I agree… they managed my house in Mira Mesa for a few years. Owning property as an out of state owner sucks — but it had nothing to do with their service. April and her family run a tight ship and they are fair and reasonable folks. My tenants were happy as could be as stuff got done quick and everyone was happy.

This will probably be our last rental before we purchase, but I’d like to say April at RC Property is good. The rental properties are fairly priced. My needs were taken care of when asked. When I had issue with upstairs neighbors, April said she would take care of it and she actually did unlike other rental places I’ve rented from. They have been flexible with my rent date, but that was because I had always paid on time in the past. They valued me as a company so I will give them a good review. As for cleaning deposits, you should always have a receipt and photos. That’s just good advice for any rental. If you’re looking for Mira Mesa rentals, then I definitely support RC Realty.

I rented a condo from RC Property Managers for about 6 months. Other than paying the rent, I had little contact with people in the office but they were courteous and I never had any trouble with the rent not being credited on time. During my rental period, I had one repair call and it was handled promptly; repaired the same day in fact. My one complaint comes with the return of my rental deposit. I was charged $ 275.00 for cleaning, which I believe was excessive. I did not clean the garage and was, justifiably, charged $ 125 for that. However, I have high standards and I spent an entire day cleaning the condo itself. Despite that, I was charged $ 150 for cleaning. So, if you rent from them make certain you hire a professional cleaning service when you move. Save your receipt and take pictures. Other than that, no complaints.
