Seriously this place is amazing! They have six great employees! They are all very knowledgeable! They know their product! I always get a warm greeting when I walk in the door! They always go the extra mile for me!

I was a bit frustrated at the fact that I couldn’t get my tv sound to pump through my Polk Audio speakers via a nice receiver. I had ripped out the Cox box from my living room and decided to hook it up in another room where I preferred to get the 400+ channels I pay [too much] for.
So, the TV in the living room is older — with only one «Audio» out. I took pictures of the back of my components, went into Radio Shack and was told I needed an audio coaxial wire. [now the Chargers game was set to start in two hours, so I thought this would be a sinch. Not! It didn’t work. The guys in the store hardly looked at the photos but thought it was just great that I took them!
They were nice, ok– but not really invested in how to solve the issue.
Here’s the result: I called Reynolds on Adams Ave. They gave me some tech’s name and number. Called him… and in less than 2 minutes he solved it.
1] You need an old VCR [no, not DVD]
2] Hook the TV up to it, and the sound through it
3] You’ll have to possibly now change channels via the VCR, as it now is the «master»
component
Boom! found the old VCR in the closet– just hooked it up and WOW SOUND! Yeah!!!
Now I can watch the Chargers kick Oakland’s A_​_​_​_​!!! in full digital sound!
That was my experience, now I am exhausted talking about it.

After a not-​so-​cool experience at the Radio Shack in Hillcrest, I rolled right down the street to this location and was very satisfied! Friendly staff, quick service, and I was out the door in the no time! Thank you! Keep up the good work.

I went to the store to exchange a case my wife bought a few weeks ago. The item had never been used and was in the original packaging. I did not have the receipt and knew I could not get cash back but only wanted to exchange it for something else or get a store credit to shop at another time. I’ve worked in retail management for many years and understand policies, procedures and customer service. The associate (Richard) could have allowed me to exchange the item or issue a store credit. He chose to do neither. I told him I would be contacting the corporate office and he said go ahead. If this is the level of customer service this store delivers it would not surprise me if it closes as some of the other Radio Shack locations have in the past year. I understand the store is in a rough area but you cannot think everyone that walks through the door is out steal from you especially when you walk in the door with the item in your hand. Stop the profiling and get back to treating ever customer with respect and delivering quality customer satisfaction.

I biked to this location since it’s close to my house, but forgot a lock (most places ask that you leave bikes outside).
So I ask can bring the bike in and the gentleman says «Sure, go ahead and set it by the door.» ²⁄₅ stars earned
As soon as he finishes ringing up a customer, he asks what he can help me with. 1 more star.
Then shows me where it is, picks it up and asks what else I need. 4 stars now…
GREG was very helpful AND kind, this is why I gave them ⁵⁄₅ stars. It was my first time here and I was NOT expecting good customer service for some reason, but I was VERY surprised :)

You know you’re desperate when you hit two RadioShack’s on one day… Amazon Prime is great, but it can’t work all miracles.
The RS in Mission Gorge was absolutely a waste of my time. My existence inside the store was barely acknowledged as I waited for two customers to sign up for cell phones plans. After too long of waiting, I came to this store closer to my house. Luckily the store was empty (no surprise) and the items I needed were in stock.
I’m with Nick T. It’s now 2013, how Radio Shack keeps their doors open is beyond me but kudos to this store for making my life a bit smoother.

My husband purchased a charger for me 45 days ago. It broke and I had no idea what kind of customer service RadioShack would offer (not did I have high expectations). A manager answered the phone by the name of Alrick. I simply explained my scenario. He asked me to come in so he could help resolve the issue right away. He took care of everything and also gave me his card in case I ever had any questions about any electronics or phone stuff. Seriously, a very nice guy.

I walked in the store yesterday and the workers at the register greeted me but that’s all they did. There was only one other person in the store besides me and two workers. You would think the other one would assist me but no. The workers here are lazy and inconsiderate. I walked around for a good 15 minutes and took off. I got money to spend but I’m not spending it here. Save your time and go to a better location.

This place is perfect and a lot better than driving to the valley of the shadow of death and endless mall traffic. Aka Mission Valley. Nice staff, lollers at the nice clerk with MMA like shiner to the left eye! He helped me find headphones and hdmi cables which was great. They cell iPhones and pads here along with accessories for both, data plans and other devices which is cool.
Minus one star for the manstrating checkout manager dude with the attitude. Anyhow, I will be back. Thanks Unilocal

How this relic is still operating, in the age of best buys, frys and various other major electronics stores around town, is a testament to the the perseverance of the company.
Its amazing. They appear to not only be surviving but actually be doing ok.
I had to go buy an hdmi cable here because I simply could not wait. I could have ordered it online, paid half of what I paid here and wait 3 – 5 days but when I want something I want it right then and there.
Patience is a virtue thats not intrinsic to this reviewer.

I agree with Matt. R.- I go to this Radio Shack for the same reason he does.

Yes, I just gave four stars to Radio Shack. Why?
Around here, your only electronics alternatives are found across the River Styx, in Mission Valley. And there is no greater soul-​stealing experience than to be shepherded through the treachery of Fry’s Electronics.
So, where would you like to go when you need that one power cable?
Would you like to negotiate the Wal-​Mart traffic jam and wander through the 400 acres of crap, long lines, and security at Fry’s? Or would you rather spend 2 minutes in Radio Shack, leaving plenty of time afterward to grab the 99 cent «Chinese food» and a Bud Light at El Uno Bar around the corner?
