5 stars do not even come close to giving Radiance it’s glory. Truly truly an unbelievable place and experience. Make a consultation and you will see with your own eyes what I mean. Ashlee is so sweet, you will feel at ease with her kind and relaxed way about her and the abundance of information she gives, and even with all my annoying and probably obvious questions, having to reschedule, etc she is always patient, and puts you at ease. I can’t say enough about alllllll she helped me with. Then when you get to see Kim or Nina, your phenomenal visit continues to vastly exceed your expectations. Things you might go in there for could make you feel awkward or nervous, but you forget all that with everyone’s warm smiles and you feel right at home. And they always make sure to give you detailed info as to what they are doing and after care. I will not go anywhere else for what they offer. Look on the website, and make that consultation call. You will not be sorry. You’ll be hooked with how special you are treated, and it is sincere which is so rare nowadays. I bow to the beautiful (inside and out) ladies at RADIANCE!!! I’m going to be completely honest, my first experience with Radiance was not the best, but, it was not their fault! I had Dermapen done for the small lines on my face. It was a horrible experience and very, very painful. I told Nina while she was doing the procedure and she told me that the results will be worth the pain, so, I stuck it out (big mistake). I don’t think she truly understood how much pain that I was in. I’m not normally a big baby when it comes to pain and like to think that I can tolerate a lot (I’ve had a couple of tattoos and the pain was nothing compared to this procedure). The next day I contacted Radiance and talked to Ashley. She was really helpful and patient with me. She kept in contact with me and I really appreciated that support. The pain and redness eventually went away (after about a week). Come to find out, in talking to Kim Knox, she believes that I was allergic to the numbing cream that is applied before the procedure and it intensified the pain. Just my luck. She said that no one has ever complained about the pain (it’s supposed to be very minimal). I read up about the procedure and this is very true, it’s not supposed to hurt like it did for me. After that procedure, I had Botox done with Kim. I just love her. She’s so sweet and personable and treats you like a friend rather than a client. She makes you feel comfortable and at ease. She was really cautious about how much she injected (under my eyes) and told me that if I wanted more, to contact her in a couple of weeks so that she can do more. The results were great but I’ll be going back for more. I really appreciated her being extra-​precautious rather than over-​doing it. I will not be going anywhere else but Radiance for my Botox and amazing products that they carry!

I have had Botox several times by many different providers. After a terrible experience at Avalon Laser, where I was told by the physician I was a «crows feet snob,» because I returned after failed botox by a new nurse, I was determined to do some research and have a better experience, no matter the price.
I found Radiance and Kim on Unilocal.The reviews were very, very positive and I thought well I want to look good regardless of price. I phoned and booked my appointment, not surprisingly it was several weeks out. Like others, they phoned to let me know when they had earlier openings.
The day of the appointment I was very pleasantly surprised. The office is calm and serene. You will be the only client there or if not, maybe one other. Kim focuses her whole attention on you. Your goals, concerns and how she thinks she may help. She is just really an amazing person who will put you at immediate ease. Her life is clearly in balance and it shows in her professionalism and the time she takes with you. Unlike other places, it is a very personalized professional experience. There is no upselling or push to buy or try xyz.
After my initial appointment for botox I have been seen one more time for botox and added some filler for the first time ever. My crows feet? GONE. Avalon Laser wanted to make it about me, it was their poor workmanship. And I saw the physician and the nurse — two botox attempts one week apart — they even had the nerve to charge me a second time when I went in after calling and telling them there was little to no benefit. Not only were they incredibly rude in response to my expressing my concerns, they could not fix them! For about $ 40.00 more than my first appointment with Avalon Laser, Kim was able to do what they could not. I would easily and happily pay Kim twice what she charges — it is THAT good and the prices are that reasonable. Really, the best botox I have had in San Diego, La Jolla and Del Mar, and I have done it all — plastic surgeons, clinics, nurses etc. Hands down THE BEST.
Kim’s work is amazing!!! You would have zero idea I have had anything done. Nada. I have already sent several friends to her, all with very pleasant experiences and positive results.
I cannot say enough about Kim Knox, her professionalism and her work product. Extremely reasonable prices, great environment, outstanding results and a really quality person who cares. I simply cannot imagine why anyone would even consider going anywhere else.

Let me state upfront, my experience at Radiance was amazing.
I have had several negative, expensive treatment experiences with skin laser clinics in San Diego and with a few dermatologists who felt compelled to just lecture me about sun protection I should have enlisted 35+ years ago (bit after the fact for a Texas Beach gal, right?) while I sought help with my «bubbly» skin texture, wrinkles and lines… I willingly waited several weeks for an appointment that matched both of our schedules to ensure that I met initially with Kim Knox. Leading up to my scheduled appointment, the office staff graciously called me whenever new appointment openings occurred, a customer service that I appreciated. Great communication!
On the day of my appointment, I found easy parking near the office. I was pretty nervous as I held out little hope of any improvement that did not involve lots of money and laser treatment leading to long down time. I was graciously greeted by staff as I entered the lovely office, I was offered refreshments and my wait time was short while I completed paperwork. During that wait time, I was able to note several men and women arriving and leaving who sported wonderful skin and very happy, satisfied attitudes.
I was personally greeted by Kim Knox and shown into a relaxed and well appointed exam room. Kim spent time asking questions about how my skin arrived at its current condition and my skin goals. Kim carefully reviewed my skin up close_let’s call it macro close, noting positive aspects of its condition and care to date. She then offered to apply a pen to a few spots, test areas, to see how responsive my «bubbles» (lumpy pores) would be… There was very little discomfort as she worked and both of us were surprised at how dramatically fast and easily the treated areas flattened… As I looked into the handheld mirror, I have to admit I welled up in tears… to date, no one had been professionally positive about my skin goals and yet within minutes Kim Knox was confidently transforming my skin texture…
Kim recommended a Micro Pen treatment series to promote collagen growth and we discussed holistic things I could do daily for myself, such as Neocell Beauty Burst chewables to assist in collagen repair, the best moisturizers as well as overall skin régime for me that was affordable and where I could locate the products outside the office. Everything she recommended I was able to purchase very afford-​ably through Walgreens, Sephora and within her office at competitive pricing. And I have actually noted a steady improvement in my skin texture through the home administered régime!
Another aspect of the care plan that I appreciated was her recommendation, as well as scheduling staff’s direction, to schedule treatments to allow full healing… in other words, the success of the treatment was most important, not how many treatments I could endure quickly that would create revenue for their office. No. They remained focus on my condition and healing goals every step of the way.
I found the pricing to be very competitive, especially in regard to the unsuccessful and costly clinics I had previously endured. I wish I had discovered Radiance a long time ago because the adage of «doing it right the first time» would have saved me heartache, embarrassment and certainly a ton of money.
I am so impressed with Radiance, Kim Knox and the staff… truly an amazing value and the treatment benefits are solid.

I love this place! I’ve been coming to Radiance for the past 2 years for botox. I love their care and attention to detail. They also recommend a bunch of other cool stuff.
The pricing can get expensive but I think it’s worth every penny. If you get botox you wont have to go every month, just once every 4 – 6 months.
I come here about every 4 months and I just found out you get a botox discount if you leave a Unilocal review ;)

Nothing but great things to say about this spa, although I’ve only come here for cortisone/​kenalog injections they always do a great job and manage to squeeze me in last minute. Also, as far as cortisone shots go, they have the lowest price that I’ve found in San Diego so far. The staff is more than accommodating, super attentive, and you can tell they truly care about their client’s skincare needs! Thank you Radiance!

I had an awesome experience at Radiance! From the minute I walked in, I felt graciously welcomed as if I had been going there for years! I had never been to radiance but saw reviews on the dermapen treatments and really wanted to try it out. Not only was the treatment unbelievable but the amount of attention and care before treatment when discussing my personal skin care issues was really appreciated! I will definitely be having 1 or 2 more treatments of the dermapen to get the results that I’m wishing for my skin, and will refer ANYBODY to Radiance as 1 of the best skin care facilities in San Diego!

Kim is great. She truly loves what she does, and is highly experienced. She is never rushing and takes time to explain. Highly recommended. My hubby and I both love her work.

I have been coming to Radiance since 2011 and have nothing but rave reviews for Kim and her staff. I can say without hesitation that Kim and her staff are highly skilled, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and willing to help you out whenever you have any sort of concern or need. Kim literally saved my skin when a pre-​wedding crisis emerged 2 weeks before we were to take off for our destination wedding. Kim fixed the problem that not even my dermatologist could fix! Not to mention she is an absolute artistic genius with Botox and is very mindful and conservative in her approach– which I really value. The staff at radiance wellness and beauty are so friendly and welcoming and made it so I wasn’t nervous for my first visit at all. Nina was extremely knowledgeable and patient, even though I was a total newbie and asking what seemed like some pretty silly questions. Kim was nice enough to stop by during my appointment and introduced herself and made me feel comfortable and well cared for in terms of the upcoming procedure. Ashley made sure that I knew about possible discounts and rewards programs. I definitely can’t wait to see the results in two weeks. If all goes well I’ll be back to get another area addressed! I was SO nervous to have Juvederm done in my lips for the first time and ended up rescheduling my appointment twice before finally going in! I am so so so glad that I did. Kim made me feel so at home and not only did she do an amazing job on my lips (they look so natural but so much better in my eyes) but she really made me want to come back. She took her time and made sure everything came out perfectly. I can’t wait to not only go back and go bigger, but also just to see Kim! Haha

I have been coming here for a couple of years and all the staff is very experienced, knowledgeable and genuinely care about you and not your wallet. I have been too many places that try to get me to pay more for what I really need. Kim is a doll and really cares (and she gets extra points for being from Texas)!! She does beautiful work and is amazing. I was seeing Amy (who recently left) and loved her work. So last time I was in I saw Nina and she did injections around my lips did an amazing job and I loved her work. I love my lips — they look natural and not like a blow fish. great prices and superior customer service will keep me coming back!

Last Friday I had the pleasure of visiting Radiance Medical Spa in Bankers Hill. I was elated that despite proximity to Balboa Park, and plenty of other happening spots in the neighborhood, finding parking was a breeze. Once I stepped inside, I noticed how clean and serene Med-​Spa was. The colors were soothing, the lighting was calming, and the vibe was homey and chic at the same time. The decorum was just what I needed to escape the florescent lights of my office I’d been baking under all week.
Upon my arrival I was greeted by the friendly staff and introduced to my esthetician, Amanda Davis. When you trust someone with your skin, you first want to see that they themselves maintain healthy skin. I must say I was baffled by the fact that I had no idea what age she was. I know she has over a decade worth of experience, but when did she start? When she was 15? Point being her skin was lovely.
Amanda led me to the treatment room where I probably could have napped for the rest of the day. But nap I did not, as I had more important fish to fry. I came with lots of questions and she graciously let me pick her brain during 60-​minute signature facial. You see, I have a combination of skin conditions that are so varied they could join an improv group. Let me explain: I’m fair skinned, sensitive to sun and wind, I have a bit of rosacea especially on the cheeks, blackheads on the nose, chin and jawline cystic breakouts, oily patches, dry batches, and I am noticing a couple lines that didn’t use to be there. I needed help!
Amanda was more than «sensitive» to my needs. She began with a skin consultation while giving me a soothing neck and shoulder massage. She was very knowledgeable about Rosacea and treated it delicately without skipping any steps mentioned in the menu. A previous dermatologist told me to avoid sun, steam, hot drinks, spicy food, exfoliating scrubs, and probably anything else I might happen to enjoy. Amanda catered to my condition with a gentle scrub that felt wonderful, and even a bit of steam to infuse moisture into my skin. Amanda was thorough in her explanation of what she was using and why. It all started to make sense. I knew the dead skin was being whisked away and hoping a few of the fine lines would go with it.
I was ignorant (minus the bliss) to how congested my skin was until the extractions started. Extractions are probably the least comfortable element of a facial but I trusted that Amanda knew what she was doing. Also realizing that I am undergoing a «medical grade facial» if I skipped the extractions I’d be shortchanging myself. I had a monstrously dense blemish on a very sensitive area of my cheek that might have stuck with me through Thanksgiving had Amanda not worked her magic. She did not sugar coat the fact that I might have some scabbing afterwards, but assured me the scabs would flake off in a few days. At this point all I am thinking is, «Get the demons out!»
Amanda made sure my face and lips were moisturized and protected with sun screen before I left. She used a Vitamin C serum that was oil soluble (versus water soluble), which has a much more beneficial and lasting effect to the skin. I asked why all companies didn’t use that formula and I wasn’t surprised to learn it was more expensive to make. As I’m getting older I realize that cheap products just won’t cut it. I did leave a bit pink after the treatment but it did not deter me from going about my day and night.
The next day I saw several friends I hadn’t seen in some time who complemented my skin. I did have on a bit of foundation but I don’t attribute the flattering remarks to the makeup. The investiture in the facial left my pores clear and my skin supple and moist. The scabs were virtual unnoticeable and they couldn’t have remained for more than two days. My foundation went on smoother and even lasted longer. Now, almost a week has passed and my skin has maintained its glory. I have since vowed to never let so much undisclosed time pass between facials again. Thank you, Amanda, for the Five Star Service!

I was referred to Kim Knox by someone for lip filler & I had high hopes for a beautiful & natural look, but Kim’s professional opinion was one of caution. I have a filler in my lips already & the 2 different products may not have ‘behaved’ the way she would have wanted so she steered me away from it. I was bummed, but really value & appreciate her protecting me from a potentially disfiguring outcome. I felt that she was honest & had great integrity. She easily could have done my lips & taken my money & taken her chances.
I asked Kim about a few deep wrinkles in my chin that I hated & she suggested a plan to minimize them with a tool I had never seen before. I thought a filler was the answer, but she actually removed the ‘hump’ on either side of the deep line & they have COMPLETELY smoothed out! CRAZY COOL!!!
Kim is a lovely, caring & knowledgeable person. I feel very comfortable going to her for anything that’ll turn back the hands of time!

Another great experience at Radiance. I had an amazing facial and peel from Amanda. My skin looked and felt great! My skin actually felt firm and my skin glowed! I will be back this month for the same treatment. I also had some Botox from Nina (my first time with her). She has a nice soft touch like Amy and most important the results are perfect! Thanks Radiance for always providing excellent service and great results!

I really wish I can give this place 5 stars, but the prices are too high. If I was basing my review solely on the outcome of the treatments and the professionalism and care of Amy I would give the place 5 stars.
My boyfriend and I went to Amy for spider vein treatments and Botox. However, we went multiple times and every time we went the price of the Botox went up. We were a little bummed out because we really liked Amy and the other interactions with staff were pleasant. After our last visit, we felt a lack of loyalty that we had hoped for and decided it would be our last for the Botox treatments. If Amy is still around we might go back for vein treatments if the prices are still competitive. We found another Med Spa that charges $ 5 less for the same Botox treatment and charges around the same for vein treatments. All in all great results, great staff, but way too overpriced.

I have been going to Dr. Kim Knox for 5 years now and I absolutely love her, her practice, and my results! I usually go in for Botox treatments, and have also had a few Cortisone shots and a bit of Sclerotherapy for Varicose and Spider Veins. All procedures were very well explained, quick, barely any pain, and were completed with excellent results.
Kim is one of the most warm and sweet hearted doctors (and people!) I have ever met. She makes me feel welcomed, comfortable, and relaxed. I really look forward to our appointments and leave feeling super relaxed and happy. She’s extremely knowledgeable — I have asked her several dermatologist questions over the years and she answers them very fluidly. She also has personal recommendations for surgical procedures if needed. Even though I live in La Mesa, I never think twice about the extra drive to see her and will never go anywhere else!
The building is really nice and has a quaint vintage vibe, decorated beautifully, and very welcoming. They have a small parking area on the side street. I will park in there or on the street and feed the meter. Would highly recommend her practice!
