Radd Action Sports is the best bike shop in San Diego! My husband and I have bought all of our bikes here and we love the quality of the bikes and their incredible staff! Jeff is the owner and he is incredible to work with! They provide great customer service and if our tires are ever low, we just stop by Radd and they fill them up for us! Fabulous experience every time!

Totally smooth experience renting bikes and SUP boards for a multi-​day rental. Process was easy, guy who runs it friendly and approachable, and location very convenient. Highly recommended!

Jeff and his entire team are absolutely wonderful. Whatever your rental needs are they can be filled here. Ride a 3G bike and go explore this wonderful city in style, or if you want skate/​blade skip if you feel the urge. Don’t forget your snorkeling equipment though. Kudos to this shop for always being there when you need. Just always remember how they treated you and always come here first.

Tried to redeem a Groupon across the street, but the owner there was «sold out» Walked into RADD and was BLOWN AWAY by the level of service we received. The owner made the entire process a complete breeze and accommodated us in any way possible. I will only rent paddle board from this place going forward. If you are looking to rent some beach gear ie. surfboards, paddle board or bikes this is the only place you need to look in PB/​Mission Beach Area. They will take care you you!

Thank you so much for the great SUPs and service! It was very helpful to have a real board and paddle as another place tried to pawn off crumby boards on us. Your staff was knowledgable and provided some instruction too. Great Job we will definitely rent from you next time we are in town!

Totally forgot to check into this place, awesome customer service and good deals for big groups. Our group decided to flake on four of us, but the folks at radd were rad enough to give us the deal anyway. 10 $ for 5 hours but we only ended up riding the backs for 1. Lol it was getting hot and everyone was getting weird tan lines. Only down fall about this place is finding parking, since the place is on a main st.

We headed to Mission Beach initially to claim a groupon that our group purchased for a business across the street from Radd Rentals. When we got to mission beach and found the business we intended to go to was closed, we noticed Radd Rentals across the street was open for business and ready for a group of 7!
The lady at the front desk Tommy was very friendly and the owner Jeff was great! We had a wonderful time paddle boarding for an awesome price! We’ll definitely be back! Great place and highly recommend this business!

i’ve been coming to radd for 10 years now and radd rentals is the only place I will rent from. Jeff will take care of you, i’ve developed a personal relationship with him over the years and I know he has integrity when it comes to helping people, he gave my friend a discount because he was in college in low on money, let me and my friends keep our surf board for the rest of the day after we took lessons (if you’re looking for lessons ask for manny). If you want reasonable prices with great service, Radd rentals is the place to go.

15 bucks for an hour SUP. Close to the beach. Friendly staff.

Can’t say enough about this place. No negatives in my opinion.
Friendly staff: Jeff and co are awesome chill people who love to interact with you as the customer and make sure you are having a great time. Great service: simple and easy to rent and also gave advice to a first time paddle boarding. Lower prices than most rentals in the area. Great location next to the bay.
Rented a paddle board for a half day and a long board for a half day while on vaca last week.

Jeff was so nice and he gave us a group discount on 4 beach cruisers. They have a variety of kid’s size bikes too. We hsd so much fun biking along the bay and beach on the wide trails. He provided a lock which allowed us to go to lunch. Helmets included.

This is the place to go for rentals and if I lived in the area, I would go to purchase my next bike or board. Jeff and his staff were awesome to work with and the equipment was in great condition. Jeff knows his stuff, the area, places to eat and play. We rented a stand up paddle board, adult bike with tag-​a-​long, kids bike and of course it came with helmets, locks, basket and life jackets. It was a very easy process. We rented the items for the entire trip and a very reasonable price (5 days).
Having the items with us made the vacation. Paddle boarding on the bay was awesome and worth every penny. The bike riding in the area was easy and a great way to get around for the entire family.
We found a great business to support our family on vacation and a place and people we want to support — rent here, look no further. I am so happy we picked Radd Rentals. Thank you Jeff!

Super fast, super good, great bikes, great people. Nothing much else to say

In Pacific Beach and Mission Beach, do not go anywhere else for Bike Rentals, Board Rentals, and all purchases.
These guys came well recommended from my friend George at Mission Sands Vacation Rentals.
I had an unfortunate broken chain on my bike, took it there and Matt and Jeff were more than happy to stop what they were doing, fix the chain, fix it fast, and charge me just $ 5!!!
Go here, and nowhere else for all your rentals and purchases. That simple.

Best Ever!!! I was looking for a beach cruiser for my fiancé and after visiting several place I ended up at RADD. Jeff listened to me and made a few suggestions. After talking with my son we agreed on the 3G Isla Vista in a soft green. He let me know he had none in stock and it might be a bit before he got one. A few days later he called and let me know there was a problem getting the bike, and then sent me to a competitor to see if they had one. They didn’t but they told me of another place. that might have one.
After arriving at the third place they did not have the model I was looking for. I called Jeff back and asked when he could get the bike. He informed me that it will be a few days. I said ok get it.
He called when the bike arrived and said he would deliver it. I cannot speak highly enough about Jeff and RADD Action. He provided the service that very very few businesses provide. If you need a bike, skateboard, or a rental for the day go see Jeff.

Satisfied with cost, service, and condition of bikes.
They actually close at 6pm instead of 5pm. Small rental shop with tandem and cruiser options. Half day rental was $ 12 per cruiser, basket and lock included as requested. Seats on the cruisers were very comfortable, but be mindful that they maneuver differently than road bikes or mountain bikes if you’ve never been on a cruiser.
Cruised along pacific beach to the cove in La Jolla. Went through residential areas where there are signs for bike routes. Made it back to mission beach and to Radds. If you ask, they will pull up the maps on google and show you incase you don’t have a smartphone.
Really chill rental place.

Just going to leave yet another five-​star review here. Like many others, I found this place on Unilocal prior to making the trek down to SD. Their all day $ 10 special per beach cruiser was very affordable for our party of four. Bike locks are an extra $ 1 per; you can use one for two bikes. They also have bottled water for $ 1 — I recommend this investment.
Most importantly, everybody was helpful and relaxed and the bikes were in good condition.
Hint: If you are looking for routes other than the usual Pacific/​Mission beach trail, they can tell you super-​secret pathways that only a local would know, too.

I am not sure what happened but my experience has been very frustrating. I rented two surfboards from Radd for a week based on so many great reviews. When I went to return them around 10am, they were closed. No sign, nothing. I went back serveral times that day and they never opened. According to their published hours, they were supposed to be open. I also called several times and got no answer and no voicemail. The next day, same thing. We finally had to catch our flight home and make arrangements with the people we rented our beach home from to store the boards until I can get ahold of them.
Not sure what the deal is but its no way to run a business. Very disappointing.

Big, big fans of Radd Rentals.
Came across them via the Unilocal app and saw someone saying they walked past many other rental shops to get back there.
We actually stopped at a different rental shop and backed out ½ way through the process. As we had our little kids with us and they were quite tired of walking (8, 5 & almost 2), we stopped at a closer one, had our card swiped & were setting up bikes when we bailed out. We were looking for bikes with a baby seat or a trailer or both. As we were trying load our kids into this trailer at the other rental shop, we just didn’t have a great feeling. They didn’t seem to know what they were doing. The kids looked super uncomfortable. It just didn’t feel right. So we got our card back and started back down the road to Radd.
I ran ahead to check it out & once I got there, I was immediately glad that we’d made the extra effort. They had a bunch more bikes and lots more options. I could see 3 bikes with baby seats, a couple trailers & a number of kids bikes. I talked with the guys there and they seemed super nice & helpful.
Headed back down the street to get the family to walk this final piece.
When we got there, they helped us determine that we were going to go with 1 bike with a baby seat, 1 bike with a trailer and a kids bike. They got us all outfitted, took a swipe of our card & said we’d settle up when we returned. Super nice folks and they talked with us at length trying to make sure we had a good fit for our needs.
The bikes worked great and we even took their recommendations on routes. We started down the bay side back to the roller coaster at Mission Beach & then headed up the boardwalk all the way to Pacific Beach and back.
When we got back, they seemed less worried about the price they were charging us and more that we had a good experience. It worked out to be super affordable.
In the end, I was super happy we decided to proceed the extra half mile plus down the way to deal with Radd Rentals.
Even had a guy riding past yell out that they were the best bike shop in Pacific Beach!
