Buyer beware! I have held my tongue long enough. My wife and I bought a condo where Darlene Hall was the sellers agent. In our book, she is a dirty realtor. She hid holes in the wall with art work, damaged wood floors with area rugs and worst of all did not disclose the noise problems from the upstairs neighbors that she was aware of. It has been a nightmare dealing with the noise issues, and if we had been able to be in there at different times of the day, we may have had a better idea of the problems. DO YOUR RESEARCH on any property you are considering if she is the sellers agent. She will «stage it» to hide all the flaws you will be responsible for once you sign the papers and get the keys. You have been warned.

Worst experience with a «professional» landlord. Dishonest, entered property without proper notice. Refused to respond in a timely manner when repairs were required in order to live in the unit, after a massive leak. Finally contacted owner directly.
Basically, don’t believe a thing she says.
Penny is great, Darlene is a mess.

I have been renting from Darlene since May and she is hands down THE BEST landlord I have ever had. She was totally up front with me when I originally looked at my apartment. She told me it was small and that it wouldn’t be good for someone with big furniture. When I looked at the place, I agreed but it was super charming. She also made several promises to me before I moved in: she would paint an accent wall, replace the screen door, make some updates to the bathroom and kitchen, and clean the entire unit. I felt that Darlene went above and beyond the promises and I absolutely love what she did with the place.
Recently, both my heat and refrigerator stopped working. She had repair people out here immediately to fix both. When she found out the fridge was going to cost a lot to fix, she didn’t hesitate to replace it.
The rent is comparable to other areas in PB but it’s worth it because she really is a great person to work with.

I have had the worst experience with RA property and specifically Darlene. DO NOT FALL FOR HER TRAP!
We were looking for a 1 bedroom apartment/​condo to rent with the moving time of first week of October. after about 3 – 4 weeks of looking for an apartment that left both me and my boyfriend literally without a life or able to take care of our business properly, we finally found a condo that we really liked. we were going to take a look at another property that afternoon and call the owners and give them a check if the afternoon appointment didn’t work out.
the afternoon appointment was with Darlene Hall at Presidio Place. she showed us this condo, great square footage, open floor plan, all and all perfect for what we were looking for. BUT unfortunately this condo was facing the YMCA and that was not going to fit the Quiet and Peaceful on our checklist.
Darlene told us about another unit in the same property, on the top floor with vaulted ceiling and tennis court view. we looked at the unit from the outside and we loved it. She then added that it will not be available until December 1^st when the owner was to move out. Then she proceeded to tell us this sob story about the owner and his wife. I called my apartment and asked them if I could delay my move by two months and move the first week of Dec and they were fine with it. Lucky ha? My boyfriend, being a small business owner and having another landlord to deal with, asked if this was really a deal and the guy was really going to move out, «can we count on your word?» he asked. I felt bad for Darlene since my boyfriend was being so direct but she said «I don’t operate that way, I am the one calling the shots here, and yes, he is moving out, he has already signed the papers.»
LIE, LIE and LIE!!!
Needless to say that we lost the condo that we saw and really liked that morning before meeting Darlene. Today, October 8^th, I am sitting in my old apartment, without a place to move into and $ 40 (application fees) short! she called this morning to inform us that «the owner» has decided to sell now and he wants to «give us the opportunity» of being the first ones this condo is offered to! this is after she was supposed to call me on FRIDAY to setup an appointment over the weekend and never did! she still claims that she «called repeatedly and left voice mails». Amazingly, I didn’t miss a single call from her or anyone else, nor do I have any voice mails.
Forget about my time and sanity that she has wasted! I would like my $ 40 back since it is not me who is backing out of the deal, it is her backing out of a deal that she had no business making to start with. But she thinks since the owner, whom by the way never gave her permission to lease out the place to start with, is at fault because he is the one who changed his mind. Yet she doesn’t feel he should be the one who should be charged the $ 40!
Do yourself a favor and don’t believe a word that comes out of this woman’s mouth. We are back where we were a month ago plus feeling pissed off and betrayed. Don’t do this to yourself.

Penny at RA Properties is awesome! I needed some professional advice and she took the time to provide me with very helpful and applicable suggestions. She was kind, patient and understanding! I strongly urge anyone in the market to use RA Properties and speak with Penny!
