I had an appointment in Hillcrest this morning and decided to get a smoothie for breakfast. Here’s what I thought of Pure Press. The Pros: *I had the recovery shake. It was really really tasty. I am not fond if the taste if protein powder and this shake hid it nicely with the other flavors. *The guy running the booth was friendly and asked if I had questions about the menu. *The price wasn’t cheap(about $ 8), but the quality was much better than a chain smoothie place. The cons: *street parking *I took a peek in their refrigerator. They had containers of cookie dough protein bites. I was going to purchase until I noticed the beginning bits of mold on them. Not crazy about that being on display for customers to purchase. I’d say if you live in Hillcrest and are craving a smoothie, this place is worth a visit. Not living in the neighborhood though, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back and pay the meter.

LOVE this place! I’ve tried many juice bars around San Diego, and this has got to be my all-time favorite so far. We had the Pataya Bowl and The Fuel. Very generous portions with just the right amount of deliciously fresh ingredients to fill you up for the day. The gals here are the sweetest and got our orders filled within minutes. This place will definitely be bookmarked for future smoothie and Acai bowl excursions!

Pretty tasty smoothie. Stopped in the booth one day out walking in hillcrest. Girls serving were pretty nice. I’d probably stop again if I ever just so happen to stroll by!

Acai bowl is good but I would not recommend if you do not like bananas because they blend two whole ones into the acai! Very friendly workers and the walnuts on top add a nice touch :)

In the realm of San Diego juice bars, Pure Press Hillcrest is definitely on the top of the list, as one of the best in San Diego. After checking out the menu, I decided the«Fuel» smoothie with it mêlée of ingredients, especially the almond milk, almond butter, strawberries, blueberries, banana, dates, and topped with chia Seeds for only six dollars. The smoothie not only had great flavor, but also a smooth and rich in blue berries and strawberries. These two berries stood out very much, but the dates also had their purpose with flavor and with little bits of chewy morsels here and there. The almond milk and butters’ flavors were subtle and good, but I can not help notice that they mostly aided with the smooth viscosity of the drink, not to mention their healthy benefits. The smoothie was quite good and the young lady who made it was a nice person. The place offers outside seating only in the form of a bench and a couple chairs with a small table between them right out in front.

Perfect place to go after eating at Snooze or Lemonade(It’s on the same street)! The staff I encountered was super friendly & quick. I thought $ 7 for a juice was kind of pricey, but it’s so big that I was drinking it until the next day!(The worker said the juices last for a few days) I got the Sweet Refresher juice– watermelon, strawberry, and mint. So refreshing and sweet! Perfect after all the pancake & breakfast burrito from Snooze. Perfect on a hot sunny day. The juice was so good that I can’t stop thinking about going back! I want to try the acai bowl, pitaya smoothie, and green smoothie.

I love this place so much! I wish we had something similar to this back at home. It’s a cozy little juicery that also sells acai bowls and delicious smoothies. They’re quick and friendly! Everything is very refreshing. My go to drink is the green glow smoothie. For $ 1 more you can upgrade your 16 oz size to a 24 oz.

In this unassuming shack, one can find fresh ingredients and quality shakes. Loved the watermelon, mint, like concoction I got(I did nix the aloe– I didn’t want it too slimy). Only con is that it’s pricey for the acai bowls– I guess average price for the juices. I wish the lady had told me the size options before assuming I wanted a giant serving of it though(she gave me the 24 oz instead of 16). I swear I had to pee like 10x after! *note: this is not really a sit down spot– more of a grab and go locale!

Everything I’ve gotten here has always been amazing! Their acai bowls are the best I’ve had in San Diego and their smoothies have the perfect consistency. Their peanut butter avocado smoothie was sooo good and filling, a nice protein filled meal replacement. While their acai bowls are always spot on, today I requested to have mine served in a pineapple and I got exactly what I wanted without hesitation. Can’t wait to come back!

For drinks, we did the recovery and the avocado one. Also did shots. I liked the smoothies. Really I did. However, they were just a 7⁄10 for me overall and the shots were not mixed well. Honey sat at the bottom of the little cup. I would go back to see if they just had an off day. The staff was really friendly and the environment was super cool.

I think I will be going here at least once a week to treat my self 16oz $ 6 24oz $ 7 Wheatgrass and ginger shots $ 3

A few people from work recommended this place so I decided to head over on my lunch break. When I walked up Eddie was working I knew this because he introduced himself and I told him it was my first time here and was wondering if he could walk me through what they had to offer. Taking Eddie’s lead I decided to go with his suggestion based on his knowledge and passion of smoothies. The drink I ended up with was absolutely delicious although I don’t remember the name it was a deep dark purpleish color with oatmeal flakes sprinkled on top. I kid you not when I tell you it was absolutely delicious. With so many juice bars and smoothie places to choose from this will become a favorite for me. This review is based upon the experience I had with one employee Eddie and the amazing job he did to make sure my experience was the best.

Stopped in here after my barre class for a juice. The entrance and shop front are very cute. I ordered the Cleanse Juice($ 6) and the Acai Bowl($ 7). They have just the right amount of options on the menu so that they have whatever you want without having to sit there trying to decide which one you want for 5 minutes. The Cleanse juice is just what I was looking for and tasted pretty good. I love that I didn’t have to make any decisions regarding the Acai bowl. It was huge and delicious! The Acai was icy cold, topped with all the fixings you hope for– banana, strawberry, coconut flakes, some healthy nuts/oats, and I think a dash of honey. I noticed they also had fresh coconuts in a fridge facing out & I might need to try one of those next time. The staff was very friendly and they made my juice very quickly. I’ll definitely be back.

Loving this juice shop! It’s been open for about a year and I’ve never seen it. It’s hidden in between Brazen BBQ and other store. It’s a cute little shop with fresh smoothies and juices. I will come back for their bowls. I ordered my first drink here, I chose the«cleanse» juice. It’s really refreshing with a slight sour kick at the end. You can watch the ladies make your drinks fresh in front of you. Loving this place it’s the closest thing to Nekter that I’ve found. It’s pricey compared to Jamba Juice but it’s so worth it. Knowing you are getting fresh veggies and fruits not sugar. I’m a fan!

We’ve tried their pitaya bowl and have done a couple full day cleanses. You can tell everything is super fresh. Found them on Instagram and now if i have a juice craving i know where to go. parking can be tough in the area but i usually go during off hours. Its not a big establishment. Best to just pick up and go. Don’t forget to sign up for the rewards program! you just give them a phone number. My first order I already had enough points for a free juice next time!

On a recent trip to San Diego I was on a complete Juice binge and was in need of my greens. If I can’t look like The Hulk then I can at least feel like him. Walking around Hillcrest and site seeing I then decided to check out the local Juice scene. Pure Press popped up and had an awesome star rating and I could see why! Their juices are at amazing prices and they don’t skimp on the good stuff. The staff is really friendly and has no problem answering your questions or inquiries. As I was waiting to order my drink a fellow business owner ran by and asked if they had any bananas they could spare and they were so laid back and cool about it they handed over 3 bundles like nothing! Bananas are actually pretty hard to come by in the summertime for businesses to buy in the San Diego area so it was cool to learn about the produce market aside from my drink purchase. This little tiki hut is smack dab in one of the busiest streets in the Hillcrest neighborhood so definitely plan on walking around with your drink(but hot damn the weather is so beautiful here it’s actually ideal to walk around!). My greens drink with apple and ginger, #basic in the juicing world, was amazing and held me down for the afternoon. The size of the drink is awesome btw especially for the price you’re paying. Juicing can get expensive I assure you. I can’t wait to go back to this spot when my schedule permits. This is a must stop for anyone who is looking for a healthy alternative.

Omg! In town for the weekend because my husband is working nearby for the summer. I was craving a smoothie and found this nearby the hotel. The 2 staff members were very friendly and had several recommendations for me to try. I chose the Chunky Monkey special for $ 7 and it’s amazing. One of the best smoothies I have ever had and wasn’t expecting it to be so large! I thought I would still have to eat something else for lunch but this is perfect. They also participate in a Fivestars program where you can get points from them and local businesses to earn towards a free smoothie. I cannot wait to go back… probably tomorrow. :)
