Prowest Performance offers an incredible experience for a great price! The employees are very friendly, my girlfriend and I had a great time and plan on returning soon. They gave great instructions on how to use the equipment and be safe. Overall I’d highly reccomend them to anyone down in San Diego!

My girlfriend and I went down to SD for the weekend and met Jay who told us about his jet skiing business. We wanted to have a good time so of course we jumped at the opportunity to go for a ride. We met Jay at loading dock since they were in the process of moving, no big deal. He was very attentive and helpful with instructing us on how to use the jet ski. We had such a good time! Definitely would come back again!

PROWEST performance defiantly earns a ⁵⁄₅ stars. I made a reservation for three jet skis about a month ago for this weekend. However, on Friday some people had an accident and broke two of the three I reserved. I was notified immediately by Prowest about the incident and informed that they may not have 3 jet skis for my rental on Saturday. The owner Jay (great guy), called me personally and offered to refund all the money I paid and was super apologetic. He also assured me he had a mechanic working as hard as he could to get the skis up and running. When he realized it probably wouldn’t happen he let me know there was another company in the area with jet skis, but there price is a little more expensive. He told me that because he wasn’t able to fulfill his obligation he would pay the difference in price out of his own pocket. As if this wasn’t enough, he said he works in downtown SD and he would make sure we had a great night! All I can say is that I am thoroughly impressed with the customer service, and not to mention the experience on the water was great. Their prices are the best in the area! I will defiantly be back!

Had an amazing time jet skiing here with one of my girlfriends for our San Diego girls trip. The gentlemen who helped us had awesome personalities and helped us a lot. The ride was great and so was the customer service. Would definitely recommend booking with them!

We were in San Diego for the weekend and decided we wanted to go jet skiing and called these guys during breakfast and we set up a reservation for 2 jet skis for an hour. We had an absolute blast. If you’re a returning customer they are not shy about showing their appreciation by giving you discounts.
Though a little difficult to find at first as they don’t have an actual office down at the harbor you have to call and see where they set up. But that’s not an issue as the area is pretty open and you will see where they set up after a quick call.
The guys are great and love their customers. They give you a quick class on how everything works and a few safety tips and then they let you loose and you have the entire harbor to ride around. Again we had a great time and will be returning to these guys every time!

The lady who answered my call and made the reservation, and the 2 guys who gave us the rules and helped us onto the jetski; they were all very good, patient and fun to talk to!
The email had clear instructions of where to meet the instructor.
The equipment was perfect.
It was 2 of us and it was my first time jetski ing!
We loved the waves, the Coronado waters and the SanDiego city view.
DONT FORGET your phone when you go to them; they expect you to hold on to it when skiing.

Jimmy was great — very laid back and cool. My two teenage sons and I went together on one Waverunner and were afraid that we’d weigh too much for it to go very fast. Well, that was a mistaken assumption. The machine we were on passed others with only one and two people on them with ease. We got big air, sore butts and were totally spent at the end of two hours.
We had to come back to home base and make two pit stops — once to get a new ziplock bag for the phone that was leaking, and once to drop-​off my older son whose hands were cramping from holding on so hard. Both times, Jimmy came running out to meet us and even re-​filled the gas tank on our second stop. He really took care of us!
Note that the address they give you is for a building that is nearby and not the actual canopy where you sign-​in. No big deal, but I didn’t realize that we were supposed to seek out a canopy.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Had the best time on their waverunner. If you’re even THINKING about doing it, DO IT. Straightforward without any pesky deposit fees. Lowest price I could find. Money well spent. I will always remember this!

What a great weekend!!! I called around on Saturday afternoon to check prices and availability for Sunday. Talked to very pleasant and helpful girl, she recommended to book online. Went online and booking process was very simple and easy. We arrived and were taking great care of by lovely girl (sorry, can’t remember her name). She was very pleasant and informative. The entire experience was great. I would absolutely use them again.

Me and my girlfriend visited San Diego and I planned for us to rent a waverunner. I decided to go with prowest because their prices were lower than the competition and the reviews were good.
I scheduled 3 hours at 10 am, and we got to the meet location half an hour early. We were met by Jimmy who already set up the white tent and already had the waverunner in the water. He was very friendly, informative, and patient with us.
I have never visited the office but Jimmy met every expectation I had and made this a very fun day for me and my girl.
Just to note, their website stated that they have a three hour special for 200, but the website and the girl on the phone both quoted me 210. The ten dollar difference wasn’t worth mentioning but it is probably something that should be fixed on their website.

We adjusted our reservation at the last minute and they totally accommodated us. Super friendly and courteous people. Had a great time and will definitely be back on our next trip to San Diego!

If you’re looking for an inexpensive ski rental, Jimmy is a reasonable guy who offers a fair price. The skis are new, hit around 75 Km, and are well taken care of.
When you pull into the bay, look for the large statue in a roundabout and Jimmy will meet you under a canopy in the parking lot.
Jimmy gave my buddy a free rental for his bachelor party due to a mixup that was luckily resolved the morning of. He was very professional and we all had a great time.

Such a great experience! The people running it are super nice and more than willing to accommodate your needs. I believe they are a husband and wife duo who are very friendly and professional. Jetskiing in the San Diego bay was the best location! We rode all the way up to the USS Midway and past the Coronado bridge while seeing the beautiful skyscrapers by the bay.
Unlike other jet ski rental locations, they are already on the water so there isn’t a charge for towing or gas, everything is included in the price. They don’t really care about the scratches or dings on the equipment as long as no major repairs are needed. They are good about time frames too and don’t start the clock until after they’ve launched you into the water.
I got 2 jet skis for one hour for $ 150. This is their pre summer price though so make sure you call and check. They sometimes have availability day of, but booking with them was very easy. They have a 7 day cancellation policy for a full refund, but if you cancel within the 7 days, they will charge your credit card and give you a gift certificate for the amount you paid. So if you need to reschedule, you 100% can, just be prepared for your credit card to be charged.

It’s been about 4 months since I was last in California. I’ve been going there for the last 5 years to visit family in both Lake Forest and San Diego. In August 2014, I took one of my cousins there for the first time. We drove 24 hours across the country in my car.
We spent time in both San Diego and the Orange County area. It was her first time so I definitely wanted to make it memorable. While in the orange county area I took her to Santa Monica to explore the pier and the ocean.
When we made our way down to San Diego, I just spontaneously said, «Hey, let’s get some jet skis and play in the ocean!» So I searched for local Jet Ski rental companies in the San Diego area. The first few were booked for the day, but luckily Prowest Performance had a few jet skis open for rental.
I called and made an appointment for 2 Jet Ski rentals for 2 hours. I got lost on the way to the docking area because it ended up being behind some restrooms and not the normal location where Prowest usually sets up. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a gentleman named Jay and his daughter who happened to be helping out for the day.
Jay was great! He explained to us the waiver form, operation of the jet skis and pointed out ALL the imperfections on the jet skis so that we’d know beforehand. This was great because it saved us from «he said she said» arguments. I’ve been in cases like that and it does both parties no good.
If anything, as a renter, it’d be best to take pictures of the imperfections beforehand that way there is physical evidence of what the Jet Ski looked like before and after its use. I was almost tempted to do so, but Jay was so comforting and genuine that I put my trust in him that he was a good, reputable, and honest employee of Prowest Performance. After all, as an employee you are representing the company that you work for.
After signing the waiver, understanding the flaws and operation of the Jet Ski both my cousin and I set out into the Pacific. She was supposed to ride along with me, but I convinced her to get her own even though she was a little afraid of operating one. I told her that it’d be fine and we would have the time of our lives! And that we did!
We hit the waves and I screamed the entire time! I screamed in excitement because I was having the time of my life! ABSOLUTELY NO WORRIES OR STRESS what so ever! It was my first time riding a jet ski in the ocean. It’s much different than a lake. I maxed out the Yamaha Wave Runner at 35mph because those ocean waves are choppy. They’re also huge! We’d hit those waves and it would sound like the Jet Ski broke! Those waves also engulfed us as we hit them. At first, it felt scary, but after the wave crashes down, you’re soaking wet and screaming at the top of your lungs in excitement.
For my cousin, it was the same. It was her first time EVER ON A JET SKI. I could see her smiling from ear to ear. We brought along a waterproof 35 mm camera to capture the moments. Being on the water was also another way to see the San Diego skyline. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! This brought me back to my days in Miami. While down there, I rented a jet ski and hit the waters of the Atlantic. Now I can say that I’ve jet skied in both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
The ocean is a BIG PLACE and you’re on a jet ski so you’re the smallest thing out there. 2 hours is PLENTY OF TIME to see the San Diego Skyline, Coronado Bridge, etc. etc. The coolest part was also the helicopters nearby. You could see and hear them landing while you’re out on the water. My cousin was running low on fuel after 2 hours, but I still had a lot left to go.
There was one point where we stopped at the Coronado Bridge. I jumped off my jet ski and into the ocean. I encouraged my cousin to jump in, but she made a good point. She was like «You do know that there are sharks underneath you right?» I was like «Oh yeah. You’re right!» as my jet ski started floating away. HAHA!
See, I was having so much fun that I forgot that there were sharks swimming below me. I mean, they were DEEP DEEP DOWN in the ocean, but still, the fact of the matter is that there are sharks in the ocean. HAHAHA!
Unfortunately, family events called so we had to end our jet ski adventure after 2 hours. As we returned to the dock, our excitement and adrenaline was wearing off and it was back to reality. My cousin and I had SO MUCH FUN!!! Especially her since it was her first time on a jet ski ever! The excitement level was so high that I thanked jay, but forgot to tip him!
I didn’t realize this until I was stuck in traffic on I-​15 heading north. I was almost tempted to turn around to go tip him, but then remembered that he said the best thing we could do was write a review on Unilocal.So here I am!
I’ll definitely be returning to San Diego for 2015 and when I do I’ll suggest to family and friends that we spend a day on the water either on a jet ski or boat. And who will we call? Prowest Performance duh!!!
