Protec Auto Service

Very honest guys. I went there after my car continued to die on me. I thought for sure I was going to be taken on a run for my money :(after a AAA guy recommending this place I went there and to my surprise, it was the smallest little thing. They fixed is and only charged a half an hour of labor. Only a bad connection, not a fuse or anything major like I thought someone would convince me of. Their service and honesty is top notch. I’ll be back!

Would definitely not recommend this place for any major body work that needs to be taken care of in a timely fashion! I don’t know about oil changes, or minor service issues, but if you need to fix some serious damage, be careful!
I needed a lot of work done to my car following a collision. These guys promised me to get it taken car of in 10 days. That became over a month.
I guess what bothered me the most was how both Russel and the other manager kept constantly lying to my face about the car being ready when it was not.
To be fair, the final product was excellent and the price was also good. So if you have time to spare, you might consider them but if you’re in a hurry, don’t bother

On August 14^th, 2009, my vehicle was involved in an auto accident. Unbeknownst to my family member, a Wind n Sea towing truck appeared within five minutes at the scene of the accident. The tow driver told my wife that he ‘is here to tow the car.’ No documentations or receipts were from Wind n Sea was provided other than a business card to a Protec Auto Service. While my family member was talking with the CHP officer to create a collision report and giving statements, the CHP officer Contreras even asked my family member who dispatched/​called the tow truck and my member family at the scene of the accident said, ‘I DONT KNOW, It was not me.’ Because Wind n Sea is NOT contracted with the City of San Diego and is not in rotation, they violated the Department of Vehicle code VCC 22 513 which is a misdemeanor. We did not authorized them to tow our vehicle to Protec Auto Service which is located down the street at 710 Turquoise Street, San Diego, CA 92 109 because Wind n Sea does not have a certified CHP or San Diego Police department towing yard. After the discovery of the violation, September 9^th, 2009 I made a call to Protec Auto Service and asked for them to turn over my vehicle and they refused until such time that I pay for the astronomical storage fees and towing services of $ 2,200.00. I also called September 22, 23, 24 and 27 to ask for the release of my car. On top of that, Protec Auto Service initially said that they put a lien on my car and when I confronted why they would put a lien on my car when in fact Wind n Sea Towing is using their lot to store my vehicle. They have no answer to my questioning. Wind n Sea’s actions and Protect Auto Service who supports the storage of Wind n Sea’s towing services have put my insurance claims in jeopardy because of their illegal business practice. I need to get my car (My property) which is legally belongs to me BACK! I have tried all avenue to work it out with them but they refuse to do anything of help unless we pay them money.

I got a recommendation from my friend to check this place out. I so happen to need a 100,000 mile check up and other shops wanted to charge me $ 300 more than they did. Basically they were up front and saved me some cash. they also had my truck in and out of that place. On top of that, the location is a little of the beat and path with little to no traffic. i would recommend to others. plus you can walk down the way to Chronic Smoothies and enjoy.
