I wrote a review about a month ago. And wouldn’t you know it… that package was lost in the mail!!!
USPS says it NEVER MADE IT to the post office. Luckily I had it insured.

TLDR: Simply dropped a package with the shipping already paid for, so I didn’t have to worry about any price gouging (can’t confirm the other reviews mentioning that). However, I needed a single piece of packing tape, and they wanted to charge me $ 1. Okaaay… so I didn’t have cash, and there’s a $ 5 minimum on cards. So I bought some packing tape.
Not very friendly. Looks dingy in there. They had images of Donald Trump with the phrase «We Will Overcome“on some of their signage. So… I’m happy to never ever go there again.

If you want to over pay 3x regular rates. This is the spot. I mailed a book and one envelope the price was nearly 15 $. I went to post office and the price was 5.26 $. I came to speak with the worker and said to me who cares. Well Guess what I care.
10−20% increase is cool but 300% is just robbery.

I like this business. Friendly and helpful and no pricier than other private postal centers.

Every review is true, this place is truly terrible. We live down the street and figured we would give them our business. never again. Zero customer service, they are rude for no reason. And like all other reviews state, overpriced. Will never go here again, its amazing it is still in business.

Nearly $ 11 to ship media mail for one record, and THEN they didn’t even ship it until 2 days later. That’s just silly. Shame on me for not traveling a few extra minutes to the actual USPS. Fool me once… that’s about it.

The only reason why I went to this PostalAnnex+ was because it is close to my work place… wish I never came here and just went straight to USPS instead! I shipped something via USPS in a flat rate envelope here, and it always costs $ 5.75 no matter what the weight or destination if it’s in the US. They charged me $ 10 here!!! I questioned the worker on the validity of this price and said that it typically only costs $ 5.75, and he looked at me like I was dumb and just said it was the way they priced it here.
I understand a $ 1 or $ 2 markup, but a markup that is double the price?! Ridiculous!
Another time I came to try and ship something internationally via USPS flat rate international. It costs around $ 60 typically for the size I wanted but the worker tried to tell me it was $ 125! I highly recommend never to come here unless you already have a pre-​paid package to simply drop off. Never again spending my money here.

Wow, worst service ever. No one greets you, notary cost $ 10 per signature and the guy messed it up two times, requiring white-​out and crossed out signature. To top it off they charge 60 cents for a forever stamp. Will NEVER go there again.

The staff here is so rude. Never smiles. Uninformed about anything new or modern and act annoyed if you ask questions. They must be related to someone in the company because everyone in the neighborhood knows this and yet they are still employed. It’s used occasionally because its convenient but at this point, even though it’s literally attached to the condo building I live in, I’ll drive to the post office on 6^th ave in hillcrest. The young woman there is always polite with helpful suggestions.

I needed something delivered overnight and they charged me for FedEx priority overnight knowing that FedEx doesn’t deliver on Saturdays. They just wanted to charge me the fee when I could have paid less than than half for 3 day shipping. Horrible and dishonest.

doors were locked at closed at 5:20pm. the sign says open until 5:30. the old man inside ignored me. i hope new management takes over, because these people just don’t care!

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I live close by so this could have been a convenient place to do business with. However after several times of coming here and being treated like I’m bothering them and then being charged ridiculous prices I really want to warn people please don’t patronize this place. It really should be closed down as they rip you off and practically spit in your face. The foreign lady charged me without telling me FIRST for a small piece of tape on a small mailer. It was my fault for not questioning more and this package hardly weighed anything. I couldn’t believe the price for this small light mailer to get to northern california so I didn’t pay extra for tracking #. At the post office all of it automatically comes with tracking number for so much cheaper. Well guess what? The package never made it!!! Gee I wonder what happened? This has never happened before. PLEASE DON’T TRUST ANYTHING HERE AND THESE PEOPLE MUST BE STOPPED FROM THEIR SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES AND THEIR SUPER UNFRIENDLY BEHAVIOR!!!

Made the worst mistake in not looking at the Unilocal reviews for this junk of a business prior to heading there. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Worst service I’ve experienced! They charge 3x as much as ups, fedex or usps. The catch is that they will not give you a quote until after you select the packaging and pay for it. AVOID at all cost. Wish businesses like these were forced to shut down. If i had the option to review with a minus star I would.

This is the worst postal annex in San Diego, I dropped off several packages with postage already paid for and they charged me $ 1.00 to ship the items? That is just wrong. I will be report this matter to corporate along with my receipt. Go to the one in liberty station, nicer staff and better service!

This place is so horrid that even though I live two blocks away I would gladly drive very far to get better service. They are slow, never in a food mood and expensive.

Painfully slow. I waited 30 min to set up a PO box and the guy kept stopping mid process to help other customers. Finally gave up and left.

UGH. I wish there was an option to give Zero stars. I guess I just don’t understand why a place this empty would turn away customers. After a long list of reasons not to return to this awful Postal Annex (they lose mail, they overcharge for package delivery, they undercharge for overnighters so the package gets returned to sender and is then late, etc. Nightmare.), I went back today because it’s so dang convenient. NEVER again!!! I can now safely say that I would rather travel to North County to mail a package if that were my only other option. As it’s not, I’ll just go to Horton Plaza after work. So long, Postal Annex!
So, there was no one in the store when I arrived. I stood at the counter looking at the guy who was working on his computer. I waited. I said Hi. Nothing. I waited. Awkward turtle. I asked for a customs form so I could begin filling it out as I had some packages to send to Canada. As he walked away from me, he said over his shoulder, «It has to be typed» and then went back to ignoring me. That was it.
I’ve been sending packages overseas for ten years and they require a little green HANDWRITTEN customs form provided by the nice folks at the USPS. You know the kind. I will never go back to a Postal Annex, for this one has made me feel weird about all the others. Is it a front for some money-​laundering scheme? Whose idea was it to have a postal outlet that won’t/can’t send post? Who owns this place?
Their neighbor the pet food store, moved out recently. Why can’t the Postal Annex do the same?

This place sucks. I am currently standing inline after being here for 20 minutes to print three pages. Instead of being charged to use the Internet I went to email the document but, apparently the guy can’t figure out how to open a word document. Really?! I call BS! This place is less efficient than the post office

Avoid this location… there is much better service (with a smile even) at the Hillcrest location.
I recently moved into Mission Hills and needed to mail something. I stopped by this location to drop off my postage paid package that was missing a small piece of packing tape.
I asked the gal at the counter for a small strip, and she had the nerve to charge me $ 1 for once teensy piece of tape. When I asked «Really? for tape?’ she looked at me with a grimmace and told me that how it’s done there.
I paid, but vowed never to go back for that piss-​poor service with a ba attitude.
