Best pizza in town! Maybe I’m bias because I worked here for three years, but I still go in at least once a month because there is no comparison! I am a huge pizza fan(and so is my fiancé), but whenever we go eat pizza elsewhere we always have to follow it up with going to Brunos because nothing is as delicious! We love spicy so here’s our pizza choices: Quatro Formaggio with garlic and calabria peppers(you’ve got to add the garlic and peppers), or the Calabrese with anchovies. YUM! Pete and Beth are awesome too! So are all the other staff members! If you go in during a slow time they’re all very friendly and talkative. Now I want Brunos!

Best pizza in San Diego! My parents found this place after searching for the perfect pizza. They have been to Italy many times and they said this is the closest pizza to true Italian pizza that they have found. The crust is amazing! I love this spot!

We go to Bruno’s as often as we can. Having been born and raised in Sicily till I came to the US9 years ago, I can guarantee you this place is authentic. I’ve been coming here since I got in San Diego in 2010 and I’ve NEVER been disappointed. Best pizza place in town, hands down. Their cannoli are to die for as well.

Came here one hour before closing. Ordered pizza, which was $ 16 for 12″, which was delicious albeit expensive. However, when I was half way though my pizza, about 20 minutes before they were supposed to close, they started putting up chair and mopping, making the whole place smell like chlorine. It looked like they just wanted to go home as soon as possible. When I told our server that I didn’t enjoy my experience because of the smell, she gave me a terse, «okay.» I don’t understand how a place that prides itself in its imported stone oven from Naples can disregard its customers so blatantly. Don’t come here in the last hour that they are open.

The meat and cheese plate was amazing. The prices and amount of food are perfect. Services is friendly and fast but not rushed. I would 100% return.

Bruno’s is one of my favs for wood fired pizza. I love the Campania pizza above the other selections based mostly on the sausage… but this pizza is actually about the crust. Now listen… you have to know what you are getting into here. This is not Domino’s This is wood fired in a 1000 degree oven. The Pizza cooks in about 90 seconds! Expect a little charring on the edges. I love it. We also like the Antipasto salad. A very large portion if it’s just the two of you, but you can take it home. The wine list is on the shorter side, but offers by the glass or bottle. Prices range in the 30’s… the most expensive bottle is a Keenen Cab at $ 40. They have some craft beer if that’s your thing as well. Service has always been good for me. Seems like we always get the same guy and he might be starting to remember us. That’s always a good thing. Parking can be tough on a cold night… you might end up a block away in the neighborhood. Seems safe enough though, and we don’t have that many cold nights anyway.

Pizza was good and made fast but service was really bad the lady just had a caca face the whole time and was like in a rush to leave the table I couldn’t even finish asking her for straws … So never coming back… Food is good but food is good other places too that have much better service

Love this place! Such good Napoletana pizza. My friends and i started with a bruschetta, burrata and prosciutto salad and a mozzarella salad. All of that was gone in about 2 second flat. We devoured and almost… almost ordered more of the same stuff. SOGOOD. For pizzas we decided to go for the diavolo(Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Garlic, Goat Peppers), quatro formaggio((No Sauce) Mozzarella, Reggiano, Ricotta, Gorgonzola) and blanco((No Sauce) Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Garlic, Roasted Onion, Pancetta, Arugula). I didn’t want to let anyone else have even one bite… but i was nice. All were so delicious, the diavolo being my favorite for sure. The ingredients and flavors were perfect on each pizza and definitely hit the spot. Don’t forget to ask for parmesan and chili sauce to add to your pizzas! Service was good and parking is easy on Park blvd. Don’t miss out on some quality pizza!

Legit Italian pizza. I love all kinds of pizza, but this is one of my absolute favorites! My partner and I come here frequently and usually get a market salad to start and the diovolo pizza, which has mozz cheese, big chunks of garlic, pepperoni, and goat peppers(always so good!) The crust is very thin except for the outer crust. You can ask for chili sauce too. The service is good, and will accommodate you based on your needs. It does get really hot when the weather isn’t too friendly, but it is nice around dusk when it starts to cool off if you can get a spot outside. As for drinks, they have a solid wine selection and carry mostly German beers with the exception of usually modern times blazing world and racer 5IPA. Their iced tea is amazing, with a flowery hint to it that I adore.

Best pizza in San Diego hands down. If you’re looking for real Italian pizza, look no further. This is your place. The crust is perfectly thin, and the pizza is absolutely amazing served fresh out of the oven. I recommend the margarita pizza. Just the right amount of sauce. For appetizers, try the burrata and prosciutto served on a bed of arugula. Their burrata is phenomenal and probably unlike any burrata you’ve ever eaten before. The quality of the food is fantastic. Most of the ingredients are imported from Italy, and you can really taste the difference. I love brunos!

This place is the real deal! The place is so charming and hip and just the right size. We ordered the olives which are delicious and perfectly seasoned. Since it was our first time we ordered the Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella. Highly Recommend!

Bar type atmosphere, friendly staff, prominent wood fire pizza oven behind the bar. Limited pizza choices, ½ dozen beers on tap. $ 8 glass of Lambrusco wine. Efficient and knowledgeable server, with an up beat personality. The pizza cooks in about 2minutes and tends to cool off almost that fast. We didn’t think the pizza had much personality or flavor :( We were somewhat bummed out when we left. They could have done a lot better.

WOW! Wood Fire Pizza from Napales, Italy ~ HOWINTERESTING! This is why I decided to give the wood fired pizza parlor a try as my 31st birthday celebration. I was expecting mouth watering, cheese stringing, and crust Q-Q-ing pizza. However, was I disappointed. :-( For $ 19, I received a burnt Diavolo Pizza with a piece of burnt wood chip as my birthday bonus. Check out the photo that I uploaded and be careful of your bottom. I won’t be going back.

I discovered this gem with my girlfriend after it was recommended by her friend. This is a small, family-style Italian restaurant that offers authentic Italian food with friendly, knowledgeable service. We opted to begin with a salad that had gorgonzola, dried cherries, and walnuts topped with a tasty vinaigrette. It was large enough to share between three people as a starter salad and it was a great way to begin the meal! We devoured the entire thing before our pizza arrived. The sausage and onion pizza looks as good as it tastes. Their pizzas average 12 inches across and they have a thin crust with enlarged edges. This one came with smoked mozzarella cheese and just the right amount of sauce. There was nothing left on the pizza tray at the end of the meal, but we didn’t feel too full. We didn’t feel like drinking, so we just had water. However, they have a nice selection of both beer and wine to choose from. We’ll definitely be back!

We decided to come here for dinner as a friend recommended this place. We parked a block away on the street(free parking) and luckily it wasn’t too busy of a night to bar goers. We walked up to this cute outdoor space with chairs, tables and lighting and went straight to the door. It was chilly outside. We were told to wait if we wanted a table inside as two large parties were about to leave. Staff was nice about it. Finally got our table and ordered our pizzas. The interior of the restaurant was dimly lit and the tables were small. It had a cozy-house feel to it. Staff were really nice and efficient about our water. We got the salsicce pizza and the salami pizza. Waited about 7 minutes and they arrived. Pretty quick. The salsicce had nice slices of flavorful Italian sausage on it. It didn’t have marinara or a tomato base but it worked out. My favorite was the salami. It had thin salami slices on with mozzarella, and olives. The olives added a nice touch to the pizza, adding a salty bite to it. Why three stars though? It’s me, not the pizzas. I think I finally realized I’m not a fan of Neapolitan style pizzas because of the dough. I don’t like the burnt taste of the dough and crust. It really adds a bitter quality and overpowers the already thin flavor of the ingredients on the pizza. I liked the flavours of these pizzas although I wish there was more of a «umph!» In terms of flavor. Neapolitan pizzas tend to have flavours that are more light. It’s just a personal preference. Maybe this will change over time? Regardless, I think this place has good pizzas if you like it Neapolitan style.

So, I’m not really sure what happened but I went from loving this place to hoping I can find another place nearby that might serve a decent pie. My most recent experience involved pizza that wasn’t quite cooked all the way, and consequently was really soggy and not all that great. We did notice that the pizza maker just threw the pizza in the oven and pulled it back out a couple of minutes later, no turning, etc. I think that probably had something to do with the soggy/uncooked mess. We ended up taking the pie home and were able to salvage the last few slices. If I come back, it will only be for a to go order, since I’ll likely have to re-cook the pizza anyway.

I discovered Bruno’s by chance, beautiful, beautiful chance. I was down in SD for the weekend, and my brother had some left over pizza that he pulled out after a night of drinking. I wasn’t too hungry, but once my eyes connected with that pizza, I knew I had to have it. If you’ve read through the previous reviews you’ll see the trend that this pizza literally«melts in your mouth.» There’s no better way to describe this pizza… Once you try a single bite you won’t be able to a) stop eating it, b) stop thinking about it once it’s gone, c) stop planning your next trip to Bruno’s. The most distinguishable thing about this pizza is the gloriously charred dough. Marks by the pizza God’s.The dough! Oh my dough. There’s something very special about this dough. It has a consistency unlike any other pizza dough that I’ve ever tried, even all the pizza I’ve tried in Italy(Rome, Sienna, Venice, Naples, Milano, Florence). It has a fluffy, airiness that is unrivaled, but the chew is where you’re delightfully surprised. Do they put extra gluten in this pizza? It has such a chewy, palatable texture; it’s indescribable. We tried 5 different pizzas yesterday, and hands-down the BEST pizza they have here is the Lasagne: Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Ricotta, Prosciutto Cotto(Italian Ham), Reggiano. If you don’t like this pizza, then there’s something wrong with you! Seriously, give this place a try. I TRULY believe that this is the best pizza I’ve ever had.

People will ask, how do you compare this to Bronx or Luigis. The answer is you can, but it wouldn’t be fair. Bronx and Luigis are like NY style pizza, on the go, fast, the best of the normal pizza, traditional oven cooking… SO what is Bruno Nap? I would categorize this as specialty pizza type. Like not only specializing in NY pepperoni or cheese pizza. They cook their pizza in a stone oven, the older style. Other specialty pizzas can include places like Project Pie, Zia, URBN Coal, etc. And for a specialty pizza type it’s great! Pizza has about 8 slices, can probably feed 2 if you order something else. We thought it wouldn’t be enough so we ordered 2! Diavolo: pepperoni, garlic, smoked peppers, and sauce –If this is your first time, you should get this. This specialty diavolo is delicious! Plenty of good pepperoni and the garlic chunks brings it to the next level. Calabrese: soppressata, sauce, peppers, and onions. –A great alternative to pepperoni, soppressata(salami) slices were huge, the peppers on here were more of salty then spicy. We wanted to order to go, but they said if it’s your first time you should eat there. The pizza gets cold if you take it out, etc. Turned out to a good experience. Pizza is at its best when it’s hot and straight out of the stone oven!
