Functional medicine is a medical system that has evolved in the last 30 years. It emphasizes the biological uniqueness of each person meaning treatments are highly individualized. It is integrative combining the best that traditional medicine has to offer with the best that alternative medicine has to offer. The patient is also empowered and highly encouraged to take an active role in their health.
