I was walking around the airport and opted for a coffee shop that I hadn’t tried before, and so I went for it. After a few sips of my Jimi Hendrix coffee I wasn’t really impressed and wished I had just gotten Peet’s. It also came in a medium size as the smallest, so it was wasteful for me to toss it out after a few more gulps but I just wasn’t into it. The prices and the service was just average for me.

Wanted to grab a macchiato before boarding the flight and a gluten free chocolate muffin. Muffin was dry, although the last time I was there it was moist. The annoying part is the girl didn’t make the coffee right, gave me a large cup with 2 shots of espresso and probably milk filled to the top. It was like 5 lbs. I asked her to remake it and reminded her it’s made with 2 shots of espresso and only 2 scoops of foam but NO milk and to put it in the smaller cup. She did it in the smaller cup but then added milk again, this time only 1.5 lbs but still. I just said f it and took it on my flight. Since panikin is a coffee joint you think they’d know how to make their main product.

We wanted to grab some coffee & a bite to eat before boarding our flight. First, our coffee order was wrong. We both ordered blended drinks. I got a hot one, my hubby got nothing. I reordered. When it came it was half foam(on a blended drink??) The tuna sandwich was very dry & very little tuna, mostly bread. The only good thing was the yogurt with fresh fruit & granola that you add just before eating. Yum! In all fairness, the employees are new so hopefully things will improve.

I work in the airport and I come by for iced caffe mochas. They’re always heavenly and just the right amount of sweetness and that kick of coffee I need. I would give five stars but I went in today and the girl who made it had no idea how to make one. It tasted and looked like watered down coffee with a bunch of milk. I was very dissatisfied. I will no longer go there when I know that same girl is working. She seemed so dim and her atmosphere in the work place felt negative.

This place is pretty solid! Ordered a Mediterranean Salad & Turkey Panini. The turkey was still slightly cold, but it still tasted good. The salad had fresh greens, but the dressing was a tad strong. Service was super friendly, and overall, this was way better than what I usually get in airport restaurants.

While awaiting a flight out of SD, I stopped in Pannikin to grab a bite and drink before settling in at my gate. When I walked by, it was busy, which I took as a good sign. However, I really hope that you are reading this BEFORE going in, unlike me, who is visiting after my horrible experience. Save yourself and walk the extra few steps to Stone or somewhere else, to save yourself the agony of a subpar and sad sad experience. The young girl working the counter was much more interested in talking with the airport workers who were in line behind me. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant, and an apple juice. The girl didn’t even look at me when she mumbled something about picking up my order in the back and such. When I picked up my order, people were grabbing at everything in the back, opening boxes of other people’s food and such to see if it was theirs. The young man told me my ham was ready, I asked him to check as I asked for bacon. He handed me mine, and I went to a pub table to eat. I opened my sandwich to find no bacon. I took it back and the fellow told me the bacon was in the egg. I went back to my sandwich and low and behold, he was right! It was cooked into the muffin tin shaped egg-substitute blob — all three teeny-tiny-smaller-than-a-dime-and-I’m-not-exaggerating pieces were there. Never again. I will stick to well established coffee shops from now on… this was just a sad way to start my trip.

Stopped here while waiting to catch a flight back to Denver. The girl at the counter was very friendly and answered all my questions patiently. The Panini was pretty good and the Chai latte was better than expected. They also have free WiFi. For those who prefer a Beer with their food, there is a bar attached to this location.

Hazelnut latte best I ever had. So smooth no bitterness or burnt taste like some places. I wish they had one in Hawaii!

Had the pleasure of having my first experience of Pannikin in San Diego Airport just after clearing security. While waiting for Mr. H – I spotted their chocolate croissants and blueberry/banana bran muffins. My cashier steared me toward the vegan granola bars… which I loved! Mr. H quickly and hungrily devoured the chocolate croissant that I had scored. The cappuccinos were perfect too! Pannikins was quick and did not disappoint. Totally recommend stopping by if you are near Gate 20… now I’m off to find the recipe for the vegan granola bars.

Looking for coffee other than Starbucks, I ended up at Pannikin because I’m not the biggest Starbucks fan at all. I’m glad the airport decided on supporting other coffee companies besides boring-olé Starbucks. Unfortunately for me the coffee I received here was burnt and didn’t taste fresh at all. I kinda wondered why, especially since it was 6am in the morning, you’d think it was just brewed.

This place is NOTHING like a real Pannikin coffee & tea shop. The breakfast croissant was so oily! As soon as one grasps it, it collapses into an greasy yet crusty, paper thin sheet of blandness. The scrambled ‘eggs’ in the horrible croissant were the consistency of sponge rubber, and essentially flavorless. They also forgot to put the slice of ham in the breakfast sandwich, but it was so disgusting that I did not ask for them to fix it. Also, the coffee was served scalding hot, so you have to wait a while before you can drink it. The coffee was simply average quality. Pannikin should close the airport shop or at least take their name off of this place.

Crazy how many poor reviews on this place after my experience 5:50am and needed a coffee. No Starbucks nearby and never been here or any other location but this place was close to my gate so I gave it a go. They had some specialty items — one of which was the Jimi Hendrix —(coffee, — couple shots of espresso, and a couple other things — sorry didn’t write it all down, and like I said early and still no coffee). But oh my very good! I ordered this and asked the lady about this and she said if I didn’t like it should would be happy to make me something else. I have had bad coffee at coffee houses all over the country and I am sure like those if they don’t make it like you like it they will do it over– you just have to say something. :). She was upfront. On that note I give this place 5 stars because at 5 in the morning dealing with airport travelers can in no way be easy. All groggy like me needing the morning«fix»; and these guys had the very best attitude. They were happy and energetic and even with a line of people behind me explained their custom coffees to me quickly, but where I could understand. I travel a lot and this is my new coffee goto when I come to San Diego airport. May Eve try their other locations.

Compared to the real deal, this place isn’t impressive at all. I’m quite disappointed after giving them a few tries on several different occasions. I got instant oatmeal in a cup for $ 6?! Come on now… at least make your own!

I just ordered a breakfast sandwich(sausage egg and cheese) at the SD Intl airport. The staff was very nice, but the sandwich was absolutely disgusting. I expected a little better quality than airport cafeteria food. But this sandwich came on the greasiest croissant, with one of those rubber looking egg patties that made me wonder if it was 100% egg, and a McDonald’s sausage patty. I tried to enjoy it, but couldn’t get past the second bite. Pannikin basically just stole $ 8 from me.

So disappointing. I love the REAL Pannikans in La Jolla, but this is no comparison. The coffee was the only thing that was from the namesake. The breakfast sandwiches, while«freshly» made were gross pre-fab things. I got oatmeal, for $ 6!!, only to realize it was the in a cup kind. None of the pastries are actually from Pannikans. Horrible. Will not be back.

Small shop that remids me what being a hole in the wall literally means. It is easy to walk by here after all the other available options. They do not have a huge selection compared to other coffee shops but for an airport location its decent. Staff is friendly and the prices are pretty reasonable. I definitely recomend the chai tea as it is really good.

I’m a big believer in the Pannikin brand and a massive fan who goes out of the way(30 mins) to visit the Leucadia location so I know what the coffee and pastries are supposed to taste like and this place is off. Coffee doesn’t quite taste as robust but even worse than that are the pastries here. As I walked up to the glass, the goodies were just calling out to me like they do at the main store but I got a rude awakening on e I bit in to my banana blueberry muffin as it was dry and nearly crumbled in my hand. I explained to the staffer that it was dry asked for another item which they politely obliged me(a banana bread slice) Surprise Surprise! Another dry dud! What’s up guys?! Did these get flown down here from Seattle or something a few days ago?

The«espresso» tastes like the cheapest, lowest grade of greasy-spoon coffee. Luckily there are other coffee choices in the airport. This is the worst. Pannikin is damaging their brand by letting this store sell this awful stuff.

Oh man real coffee in the airport that was what I needed!!! Staff was definatly new as the place just opened but were doing pretty well considering the am rush and they were new. Only 2 people staffed looked like they could have used a 3rd.
