Oxygen Medical Spa is founded on the philosophy of director Kimberly Running: every treatment should be unique to every person, and every person has beauty.

Kimberly started her career in aesthetics at age 19 as a Lancome Beauty Advisor at Bullocks. Her natural talent for helping women look beautiful developed into a passion that led her to work for celebrity clientele with famed Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon, Raj Kanodia – featured on «Dr. 90 210». After working for Dr. Kanodia for four years, Kimberly left Los Angeles for San Diego.

With her extensive knowledge and intense desire to help people achieve beautiful results, Kimberly became a Clinical Skin Care Specialist at Nordstrom. After receiving her aesthetic license she went on to work for, and partner with, many of the top plastic surgeons in San Diego. Her path went beyond skin care basics, as she learned innovative and effective treatments that were based in emerging scientific technology.

My skin looks beautiful and friends and family are noticing! My wedding day was last week and Kimberly did an amazing job customizing microderms and peals to remove some bad dark areas/​spots on my face. No one has been able to achieve what she did for me in the past. All while being affordable and motivated for my special occasion! I’ll never go anywhere else.

I have been to a few spas before in San Diego after moving here from NYC, so I was hesitant if anyone would be able to step up to NYC spas level. Finally, after visiting Kim at Oxygen, I realized I found my go-​to girl. She is so comfortable to talk with and her spa room is super relaxing with the natural light and general aesthetics of the room. I immediately was relaxed. After my hour long treatment, I looked into the mirror and was so impressed with the instant vibrance and glow. This girl made me feel like a million bucks, and the best part was that I felt this way without makeup. Thanks, Kim! I can’t wait to go back.

I have worked for Oxygen for a year and a half only leaving due to a move to the east coast/​abroad. In all my years of working in the medical spa industry, I have never come across an aesthetician as knowledgeable as Kimberly. Her ability to transfrom skin is unparalleled, many clients have stated that she simply «fixed their skin.» Kimberly is passionate about what she does and is consistently aiming towards client resuslts. Now, vela shape is by no means a miracle worker and having worked in this industry for three years I have seen little to varied results with it. Once I started working at Oxygen that changed. A vast majority of the clients there saw results, as long as they were maintaining a healthy lifestyle along with the treatment. I can personally think of at least 3 clients that were seriously impressed by their results– keep in mind while there I performed laser treatments, so only about 4 or 5 of my clients had undergone a full treatment of vela shape with Kimberly. Lisa is now their nurse, and again shes is extremely experienced and cares deeply about her clients.

Terrible experience with this business. I purchased a groupon deal for 3 velashape treatments for the back of my legs for $ 200. I am 5’6″ 125 lbs. I was the «perfect candidate» (according to kimberly) for this procedure since I wanted to reduce the mild cellulite appearance in this area. The owner Kimberly is a good sales person. She told me that 3 treatments would not show results and that I needed to purchase at least 4 more treatments in order to see results. I ended up purchasing 4 for $ 600 then the next week I decided to purchase the final 6 more for $ 400, for a total of 10 treatments for $ 1000. I ended up doing 7 treatments. On my 6th treatment, she had a brand new girl who had no experience doing the technique. I was burnt and bruised badly. It was a waste of my time not to mention money. The 7th treatment was free since she was unable to schedule me within the 7 days on a few of the treatments. 5 of the 7 appts i had, she made me wait 15 – 20 minutes after my appointment time. The scheduling is awful and she over books as much as she can. This business is about making money and moving a lot of people like cattle as quickly as she can. If you want a quality honest treatment, avoid this place. So getting back to the actual treatment… kept waiting to see a difference with each treatment but really no difference, maybe a very temporary reduction in the appearance (10%) but I think it’s mostly because she tells you it’s working. She continues to hard sell me at every appointment. She talked bad about a very reputable cosmetic surgeons office that I have been going to for years. She is very unprofessional and in my eyes pretty much a scam artist. There are only a few places that offer the vela shaping, basically because it simply does not work and most businesses want proven results and happy clients. The office is nice and situated in a business district in Del Mar, however the front desk staff is not friendly. Some times not even saying a simple hello. Kimberly promised I would get a $ 400 refund on the treatments I never received. It’s been 2 weeks and still no refund. Ladies, save yourself the $ and read the reviews on velashape online. It does not work! If your want a positive spa experience, go find a reputable establishment.

Ladies, if you are looking for a vetted, thumbs up place for your cellulite zapping treatments, this is the place to go. I bought a Living Social coupon for 3 velashape treatments for the back of my upper thighs, and so far, I’ve used up 2 treatments. Kimberly, who’s the owner of Oxygen, worked on my thighs. She gave a moderate amount of pressure so the treatment feels like a deep tissue massage, and she made sure that the device never gets too hot each time I was there. Kimberly will try to target as much area (as possible to zap those nasty fat cells and even out the skin) so you feel that you are getting your money’s worth. So far, I’m pretty pleased with the initial results. I’m looking forward to more treatments with Kimberly. Also, Kimberly is very knowledgeable — I get diet and exercise tips from her every time I go. Kimberly has some package deals for Velashape, which if you select the package of 10 treatments, it’s only one area (2 sides) for $ 100, which I think is the best deal around.
Parking is easy (free, right outside the building) and the office is on the ground floor as part of Coastal Plastic Surgeons, so you know that there is always an MD around.

I’ve been looking into getting laser hair removal for awhile and got a living social deal for this place. I was nervous not knowing how it was going to feel but when I meet Meaghan she made me feel really comfortable and relax. The office is nice and clean. My results so far are great and will be returning for some more treatments. I highly recommend Meaghan she made the experience so much better than I thought it was going to be!

Great place! I came here because I bought a groupon for laser hair removal. Not really knowing what to expect with either the spa or the service I was a little nervous… but my expectations were certainly exceeded! The office is really beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and MOST importantly, they have ALWAYS been on time! Meghan is the absolute best and has done all of my treatments. Oxygen Med Spa is absolutely the best med spa I have visited! I have previously gone to other spas where they just try to sell you into additional treatments. Here, Kim works with me to find out the areas I want to work on and she puts together a program to achieve those results. I have been getting Velashape and Venus Freeze treatments to help remove cellulite and firm my skin. I definitely notice a visible difference in my body. My stomach is much flatter and I have lost some fat around my belly button. Now I am more motivated to go to the gym to speed up the results. In addition Dr. Batra and his staff are amazingly friendly and very knowledgable. Dr. Batra has gone out of his way to fit me in as a consult. Great job guys, you definitely have a loyal customer!

I just finished 3 intense pulsed light treatments with Meghan, who was almost as amazing as my results! She was so awesome and friendly. I was nervous about my first treatment but she was very realistic and reassuring, I actually looked forward to my next two treatments with her. And I’m glad I went back cuz I am so happy with the results and will definitely be back for some of the other treatments they offer. If youre looking for anything on their spa menu, this is the place to go!

I have to take back the initial note — since the time I initially posted, Oxygen has been fantastic about rescheduling and allowing me to get the full value of my voucher. Meghan continues to be fantastic, very friendly, quick and professional.
BEWARE SCHEDULING. Meghan is fantastic and I had a good first experience with laser hair removal treatment here but scheduling a repeat session is a nighmare. I bought a certificate for 3 sessions because they advertise evening and Saturday appointments but none are actually available. My 5:30 pm appointment was cancelled with the only options offered to to reschedule being in the middle of the workday and impossible to attend. Great service but beware, you may be throwing money away if you are purchasing deals and expecting hours to be as advertised.

Ladies and Gentlemen… run, don’t walk to the Best Med Spa experience of your life! Kimberly will provide you with a treatment plan to meet your specific needs… I am a baby boomer and needed a little more help with my skin inbetween the incredible Oxygen facial Kimberly provided.
Elisabeth is an RN with incredible skills and experience; she listens to you and then works her «magic» as she artistically sculpts your face to a beautiful naturally refined and refreshed you! Botox, lasers, and other injectibles made me feel prettier than a peacock in full feather… you can strut your stuff for sure.
The team at Oxygen are knowledgeable, experienced and fun!

I’ve gotten laser procedure done here. and i really like it. The RN is so friendly and she does a FABULOUS job! The manager Kim is also so friendly as well and really makes you feel comfortable.
The ONLY reason i give a 4 star is for a few reasons… the prices are a bit steep, their receptionist is not very friendly and seems a bit arrogant in the way she comes off (which is a horrible first impression) AND primarily because I have never been to a day spa where they make you put on your own numbing cream on in public. YES, I KNOW! When i first got there, I felt like i was at the butcher shop getting called up in line at the front desk, the receptionist gave me some numbing cream on a stick with a plastic glove and told me to go out of the office, cross the hallway to the bathroom to apply my own numbing cream. YES, that means i have to walk back… out of the bathroom into the medical office with white numbing cream all over my upper lip and chin (i had that part lasered) SO EMBARRASSING!!! I almost wanted to give them a 3 star based on that part alone. BUT the rest of the staff is incredibly nice and did a great job.

I bought a package of 6 laser hair removal sessions from a daily deal site for Oxygen. I am in LOVE. I love the results, I love the spa and Megan is THE BEST — super friendly, down to earth and explains everything along the way. She put me at ease immediately and talked me through what was going to happen, what to expect afterwards and even personally called me a couple weeks after my initial treatment to see how I reacted. My only complaint is that it’s in Del Mar and I live in OB — but I can’t take any stars away for my choice of neighborhoods to live in. I would refer anyone looking for laser hair treatments to Megan in a heartbeat!

The treatments I’ve had here have all been solid and met my expectations (most recently, a Velashape cellulite treatment that I was pleasantly surprised by). The new office is beautiful and the treatment rooms and equipment are clean and nice. The staff, however, are really unfriendly and the treatments are overpriced. I love the range of what they offer, but now that I’ve done everything that I can’t find elsewhere, I don’t plan on going back.

I went to this spa two months before a wedding to get a peel in hopes of having radiant skin by the wedding. In addition to the peel I was told to come back for an oxygen facial that was to make my skin more vibrant and radiant. Instead, the facial left my skin with an orange tint. Although the esthetician offered a redo at that point I had lost all confiedence and trust in the spa and their representations.

Just went this weekend for a Refinity Peel. Tina was MARVELOUS! My skin feels so great and it was nice talking to Tina about my problem skin because she has gone thru the same things and knew exactly how to treat my skin!
I plan on going back in a couple of weeks for another peel and keep it up. I asked for recommendations on other products and she helped me find what I was looking for and not trying to upsale the products like in other salons.
Love this place! So serene too.
