Raymond was very helpful and friendly. I went in for new wipers and fuel injector fluid. At checkout, he offered to install the wipers which was awesome. I also asked him if he can check my battery. After installing the wipers, he checked the battery and said it’s bad (which I had a feeling it would be). He recommended a battery that best fit my car as well as terminal protectors that were 1.99 but makes a big difference. Raymond then offered and installed my battery as well. Thank you so much for your assistance.

I had a dental appointment down the street on an unusual rainy day in SD last week. I needed wipers badly. I could barely see to drive there from Del Mar but made it and wasn’t leaving that area until I had new wipers! I Unilocaled a Auto Parts store and this came up. Easy to find, easy to park. Was asked if I needed help when I walked through the door. I told him what I needed, he looked it up, walked over and grabbed them for me, checked me out and even came out to my car and put them on in about 2 mins flat! Such a nice kid! I wish I could remember his name, dark hair, thin. Had a difficult name for me to remember but went above and beyond his job and I thank him for that!

Tough day at O’reilly’s which is normally a pretty good place. I asked for a water pump for a 74 LS4 corvette. I had the specs and part number so it should have been a no brainer. Enrique, the sales clerk, presented me with two options, A refurbished water pump and a new water pump, both made in China and neither matching the spec. I figured I might be wrong so I bought the refurb. Lo and behold, its the wrong pump. My research was correct, I needed a ¾ inch low profile pump and they sold me a small block Chevy pump for my 454. So I travel back to O’rielly to return the thing and Enrique refuses to give me a refund because I forgot to put the 50 cent gasket back in the box. Thanks Pal! Need I mention you sold me the wrong part? Anyway, back to the house, back to O’reilly’s, finally the assistant manager processes my refund and I’m done. I still like the store but the clerk in question needs to work in the fast food industry where he can’t do any real harm.

Went there today without knowing how to put on windshield wipers and without knowing which oil I needed to get and I walked in and asked Nicholas who was stalking shelves an is actually a truck driver but happened to be helping on the floor. He’s fairly new there only Been working there a week an his awesome attitude an helpfulness made me day! He was nice enough to ofcourse help me find my oil for my car but also put on and teach me how to put on my windshield wipers (IN THE RAIN might I add) he then helped me open my oil tank as well which was for some reason so tight it needed a tool to open. Another worker there let me use there funnel instead of having to buy my own. My experience was all around great! Very helpful an friendly I will definitely be going there from now on thanks to the friendliness of Nicholas!

Sometimes I think it’s weird to write a Unilocal review for a place like O’Reilly Auto Parts, but I’m so happy with the service that I received… how can I not? One of the tail lights went out on my car, and being the unknowledgeable person that I am about cars, I walked straight to the front desk and stated my problem. Kenneth looked up the light bulb that I needed on his computer then went with me to my car to grab the dead bulb and match it with one in their store. Their computer said that bulb was out of stock, so he made sure it was the right one before charging me by consulting another employee. He even showed me how to change the light bulb and did it for me. I always freak out when it comes to fixing anything related to my car, and O’Reilly always does such a fantastic job of putting those worries to rest and teaching me about cars so I know what to do next time. Thank you!

Stopped in here to get antifreeze and brake fluid. Bradley helped me out and came out to my car to help me replace the fluids. I dropped one of the caps into the engine and he went above and beyond to help me get it back out! This poor man needs a raise if he deals with anymore females like me. He wasn’t just helpful he was polite and nice enough not to make me feel like a fool. Thank you Bradley, unfortunately for you I will be back for sure.

San Diegans are never prepared for the rain. I had been putting off getting new windshield wipers for awhile now and so when it rained this past weekend, I decided that I should probably get a new set or risk dying on the freeway.
Originally went to Autozone and they were out of the ones I needed so came here instead. Thomas was very helpful and was pretty knowledgable. He was a bit forgetful, but honestly, a lot of people are and I wasn’t in a rush to get out of there or anything. Walked in and out of there within about 5 — 7 minutes.

I stopped in this O’Reilly to purchase some new window wipers and some fuel injector cleaner as part of my 30k tune up. They pretty much had a whole aisle on one side dedicated to wipers. I like that they had this little console, where you input your data regarding you car and bingo, a number pops up that correlates with your vehicle

The aisle was well organized and I was easily able to find the wipers after I learned their code (see). I purchased the O’Reilly brand of fuel addictive for only $ 2.89 plus tax (
). I was greeted when I came in, but helped myself, and the service at the counter was good. The older gent had a good sense of humor.

Staff was super friendly, they got the part my friend needed to fix his car. It was a quick in and out. Items are also reasonably priced and who can say no to friendly service.

Easy to find what I need and if I get stuck the people are usually friendly and very helpful.
Parking lot’s under construction so the in and out is tricky. Otherwise my «go to» for windshield wipers, hub caps and oil.

These guys are winners. They are more then happy to help unlike the Pep Boys losers, (same shopping center as Sprouts). They almost always have the specialty tools I have to get once in awhile. Unlike Autozone (they are also helpful), O’reilly has that cool bargain bin of tools. I love the bargain bin! They may not be the best quality but for the weekend warrior it’s well worth it. Plus for like $ 3 in that bin you get a huge pack of multi-​sized zip-​ties which you never know how much having a supply of those come in handy until you have them. They will come out from behind the counter if your in an isle and ask to help. Very impressed. This seems to be the same for every O’Reilly Auto Parts I’ve been in. They must pay them pretty good or something because the workers seem happy. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because I think their back stock of parts is kind of limited. I wish they had a little more room and could carry more parts.

Above and beyond service! I went in because my battery died twice in one day. They were able to read the battery’s charge, to confirm it was in fact the battery and not another problem, and offered to let my battery charge in their store. Unfortunately for me, my battery wasn’t taking the charge so I had to get another one. Luckily, it was still under warranty because I had purchased my battery from a Kragen/O’Reilly store, they were able to find my info in the system and honor my warranty, even without a receipt! I had multiple people offer me help, and they loaned me tools and even their assistance to get my old battery uninstalled and my new battery installed.
On a separate note, I needed to replace my dip stick as well. They didn’t carry the one I needed, so they ordered one for me. It came in later that day!

The guys here are so nice. They helped me reconnect my battery when it needed replacing. Unfortunately the shop almost always has to order parts for me rather than having them in stock. That’s why they’d get 4, rather than 5 stars.

Well, pretty much livid at this point after discovering all 3 major parts I purchased here (totaling over $ 400) were either the WRONG part for my car or DEFECTIVE.

what’s going to be left uncrossed on my original $ 400 receipt? A fuel filter and some oil. that my friends, is about all this company is good for: basic car merch that they have absolutely no way to eff up.
O’Reilly, thank you for selling me the wrong spark plugs. You cost me another days labor of my mechanic having to take the engine off to install the RIGHT ones (4 for $ 60 instead of the cheap POS 4 for about $ 12 your computer thought was A-​OK).
Thank you also for the wrong wires. My poor car was pretty much convulsing on start up and caused us to wait half a day for a friend to bring a diagnostic and trouble shoot things… because again, we assumed we had all the right parts sold to us.
and finally, thank you for a defective refurbished mass air flow sensor… that it turns out you charged MORE to me than a brand new factory VW MAF sensor costs from a dealer (yes, my fault for not checking with dealer first but really?). im literally in awe.

oh right. oil, filters, and hanging pine air fresheners.
you caused me multiple bills to a mechanic to reinstall all these parts, multiple days of work on a car when it should have taken about 2 hours ONCE with the right parts. not to mention my time and headache of thinking additional problems were coming up in my car after replacing new parts through you. nope, the problem was YOU.

please learn from me… do not give this place your business. not only do they not carry things in stock like other locations and businesses (yes all these parts had to be ordered), you have the chance of being sold the wrong parts and getting ripped off on top of it with used defective parts. worth the gamble? and for what purpose? being charged more than dealer???
i cant see any reason to buy major parts here unless you are desperate and its the only option in the area. but thats not even true! auto zone and pepboys are in the same plaza. and pretty sure ill be going to NAPA for now on anyway.

They greet you as you walk in the door and ask you if you need any help. That means everything. For a small store they have almost all the parts i ever need. Some of the stuff is expensive and some of it is cheap, they have awesome clearance racks from when they were kragen.
You get good friendly service wether you have tits or not, its amazing! Most of them even know a thing or 2 about cars and they pretend like i don’t smell like burnt differential fluid when even MY eyes are watering from the smell.
Great service, cheap parts, good parts, nice people, personable.

Got my DIY oil change stuff here. The guy wasn’t too helpful or aware of any specials or promos going on, other than reaching for the store’s print ads.
I feel bad for the lady who just left the store. If she figures it out, or her mechanic informs her, she needs to come back because they sold her the wrong part.

Went to this Kragen/​Oriely auto parts to purchase Cooling Fan Switch and parts guy with long hair wanted to argue about the name and say there is no such part. After having to prove him wrong and show him what it was, they didn’t have it in stock. No Problem about that part not being in stock but the customer service is horrible. I went to Autozone around the corner, there guy found it first try.

On a lazy Sunday, our hero decided to meet up with his friend who lives in Clairemont to tinker with his car together and change his spark plugs and wires. Conversing about things they could potentially do with their cars, our hero thought that engine block cooking to make some pizza, steak, or baked potatoes would be a great idea for their next road trip. When car engines get hot, their generated heat (especially from exhaust manifold) can be used to make a nice meal for when you stop driving. For tips and sample recipes, see:
Unconvinced it would work on a Camaro’s engine due to the constrained space above the engine block, our hero’s friend popped open his hood to show him how bad of an idea engine block cooking was. That’s when they noticed it: an EGR hose had deteriorated and disconnected completely from his friend’s exhaust manifold.
A trip to the nearest automotive supply store was in order.
At Kragen, our hero’s friend asked whether they had the appropriate EGR hose for his Camaro Z28 and after searching through their antiquated computer database, the sales clerk responded, «is it a 4 cylinder engine?»
«Uhhh… it has four cylinders on each side,» replied our hero’s dumbfounded friend.
«Oh, I looked up a Cavalier.»
An I4 and a V8 engine are apparently pretty similar to the clerks here. Go to the Autozone on Balboa instead, where they’ll readily admit they don’t have the part in stock and not waste your time.
PROS:
— Ample parking and room in the lot to work on your car right outside the store.
CONS:
— The guy working the counter here thinks a 160 HP V6 engine is «nice» and that Pontiacs are great cars.
— Virtually no out of the ordinary emissions components in stock.
— Poorly organized database of parts on hand.
