Online Trading Academy

A total sales pitch to buy their very overpriced products. Don’t be fooled by their fancy office. You are paying for it with your tuition.
I AM A CURRENT OTA student and unfortunately my previous review was removed, probably by OTA itself.
They supposedly have a «patented» system, which in itself means nothing about how accurate it is. In fact, most of their supply and demand zones do not hold and neither I nor the OTA students I interact with are making any serious money with their method any time soon.
I am a full-​time trader now, use a different method, and I have not seen the OTA method as more effective than others out there. But, they have a carefully packaged and luxury-​looking product to sell.
One thing in their favor: they stress the importance of risk management and position sizing. But, you do not have to pay $ 20−50K to learn that. Just use your stop orders wisely and do not lose more than 0.25−1.5% max of your total portfolio in any trade!
It’s a «buyer beware» review for me.
If this post gets removed again, I’ll voice my opinion much more loudly and all over the internet. It is a free country, so please respect my right of free speech by allowing me to give a review of my school.

Be warned. The 3-​day intro class ($ 300 cost) does NOT teach you how to trade. The first day-​and-​a-​half gives you an overview of many aspects of trading, and it’s actually good information. Instructors are knowledgeable. However, just before lunch on day two, they hit you with the sales pitch. None of their «real» classes are under $ 5,000 for one week. They also push several package deals for $ 23,000, $ 35,000, and even $ 50,000. They even have student loan folks that come in. I’m not debating whether these high cost programs are worth the money; I did not attend any and cannot comment. But, I do feel deceived about the true purpose of the initial 3-​day training. They are definitely not up front with you from the start.

So here’s my response to all of the people wondering if this place is a rip-off…I went to the introductory session and paid for the three day. Before the 3-​day occurred my «mentor/​counselor» called for me to fill out the online survey and to see if I had any questions. I got to thinking that if this really works then he probably trades and could prove to me that his trades were working. This is how the conversation went…“do you trade?”…his reponse «yeah and just taught my daughter who is 14 to trade»…“did you trade recently?”…his response «yeah just shorted the canadian dollar and made a ton»…great I said can you show me the trade verifications? His response… i don’t think you are appropriate for this program… so here’s what I think… if you are wondering if this is worth the 20,000 investment. simply ask them for proof… how hard can that be to prove???

I definitely recommend this school to everybody who wants to learn how to make money. I went to 12 years of formal degrees, and any of them never tough me how to make money. Even in my MBA they prepare us to work for someone else.
20 years later, looking for a investments like a business to buy, specialize hedge funds to invest or a franchise opportunity (which by the way their Franchise expo in SD is a joke) I discover this school.
Living in TJ where there are no professional sales people I am afraid of the ones they are in SD, like in the mile of cars, solar panels, or cable TV, therefore driving up to the seminar my first impression was, rip off. Their 3 day seminar remind me a timeshare sale, I was about to leave every 10 min but the person who did they seminar was very knowledgeable on investments and fun, so I stay. Right there he showed us how to save a lot of money on stock investments, so afterwards I decided to give the school it a try.
After 7 months of learning and taking all the courses they offer I sure don’t regret my decision to sign in and recommend it to all my friends. I am making around 5,000 USD a day, looking to do $ 10,000 in the near future and having a lot of fun. Have to wake up pretty early though since the markets open at 9:00 London time, about midnite in California.
I strongly recommend this school to people who have some money to invest and at least 6 months of dedication to learn what they teach. Believe me, just do what they say and you will make money fast. But If you do not have money to invest, at least 50,000 I do not recommend this school.
I love OTA so much I enroll my wife and paid the tuition of both my baby’s 15 years ahead since they are 6 month and 2 years old. I do not agree with their recruiting time share tactics, but I guess some people need a kick in the but to get moving.
OTA education is many times better than owning a business, all depends on you, no overhead, no employees, no overall business hassles, and you can make a lot of money if you are up to it.

I have done their basic stock course. The company offers good foundation information about trading. Their course prices could be called expensive — about $ 1,000 per day.
The demo courses feel like going to a timeshare presentation — pushy and inauthentic. Even though I am a former customer, I didn’t feel comfortable and welcome.

They finally have a location in San Diego!
It’s in the heart of Sorrento Valley.
The parking is tight, but not too bad.
The actual office is pretty big, nice and clean.
